Encryption is a valid means to safeguard the safety of images, and for color images, encryption should be performed considering the intrinsic correlation between R, G, and B components. In this paper, we propose an image encryption algorithm based on a complementary map and an iterative convolutional code. Firstly, the plain image is input into the convolutional encoders for iteration to generate the correctional secret key. Secondly, we design a new complementary map. From the test data, the new chaotic map has passed the NIST testing, exhibits a good chaotic characteristic, and has a wider range of chaotic parameters. Thirdly, global scrambling is performed on the color image to disrupt the distribution between R, G, and B. Then, a row-layer and a column-layer are randomly selected to form a set of elements to be encrypted. Finally, performing global diffusion on the image further increases the safety of our scheme. Experimental results show that our algorithm has a preferable encryption effect and elevated safety. © 2024 ACM.

Blockchain-Enabled Secure, Fair, and Scalable Data Sharing in Zero-Trust Edge-End Environment

In edge computing, the Zero-Trust Security Model (ZTSM), as a key enabling technology for next-generation networks, plays a crucial role in providing authentication for addressing data sharing concerns, such as frequent data breaches, data misuse, and cyberattacks. However, due to the complexity and diversity of edge environments, ZTSM struggles to meet the security requirements of data sharing frameworks solely through enhanced authentication. Consequently, such frameworks with ZTSM still face challenges in ensuring data integrity, evaluating various node behaviors, and coping with the increasing complexity of node attributes. To address these issues, we propose a blockchain-enabled secure, fair and scalable data sharing framework in a zero-trust edge-end environment in this paper. Specifically, we first propose a Merkle forest-based data storage model for the classified storage of loosely coupled data, consequently enhancing the scalability of the model. Then, we design a node behavior-based reputation assessment mechanism to ensure fairness during data sharing. Moreover, a data sharing protocol supervised by smart contract is proposed, working with the aforementioned storage and assessment schemes, to ensure the security of data sharing. Finally, comprehensive security analysis validates the security, fairness and scalability of the proposed framework. Extensive experimental results show that, as transaction volume grows, the time cost of data traversal in the storage model becomes progressively more efficient. Additionally, when the size of the smart contract is increased tenfold, the maximum time cost of the data sharing protocol rises by only 4.98 times. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Exploring implicit influence for social recommendation based on GNN

In recent years, the method of using graph neural networks (GNN) to learn users’ social influence has been widely applied to social recommendation and has shown effectiveness, but several important challenges have not been well addressed: (i) Most work fails to consider the user interests (historical user-item interactions) when first building user-user social relationships, which can make it difficult to capture accurate user embedding and thus prevent the model from better exploring the users’ social influence;(ii) Most of the current methods do not build social neighbors (with the same item-user interaction) that belong to the item and do not aggregate information from the perspective of social neighbors, which makes it possible for the item to lose a lot of details when expressing the user’s interest factors. Therefore, to address the above challenges, we propose Exploring Implicit Influence for Social Recommendation Based on GNN (EIIGNN). First, we construct the initial user embedding with user-item interaction information and use the implicit modeling module in user modeling to explore the implicit influence of interest factors on users. In addition, EIIGNN models the social graph structure of item (an item-item graph) so that item can aggregate information from the perspective of their social neighbors, which helps the model learn a more accurate representation of the item. Changing a person’s posture and low resolution are the key challenges for person re-identification(ReID)in various deep learning *** this paper,we introduce an innovative architecture using a dual attention network that includes an attentionmodule and a joint measurement module of spatial-temporal *** proposed approach can be classified into two main ***,the spatial attention feature map is formed by aggregating features in the spatial ***,the same operation is carried out on the channel dimension to formchannel attention ***,the receptive field size is adjusted adaptively tomitigate the changing person posture ***,we use a joint measurement method for the spatial-temporal information to fully harness the data,and it can also naturally integrate the information into the visual features of supervised ReID and hence overcome the low resolution *** experimental results indicate that our proposed algorithm markedly improves the accuracy in addressing changing human postures and low-resolution issues compared with contemporary leading *** proposed method shows superior outcomes on widely recognized benchmarks,which are the Market-1501,MSMT17,and DukeMTMC-reID ***,the proposed algorithmattains a Rank-1 accuracy of 97.4% and 94.9% mAP(mean Average Precision)on the Market-1501 ***,it achieves a 94.2% Rank-1 accuracy and 91.8% mAP on the DukeMTMC-reID dataset.

Cross-modality person re-identification between visible and infrared images has become a research hotspot in the image retrieval field due to its potential application scenarios. Existing research usually designs loss functions around samples or sample centers, mainly focusing on reducing cross-modality discrepancy and intra-modality variations. However, the sample-based loss function is susceptible to outliers, and the center-based loss function is not compact enough between features. To address the above issues, we propose a novel loss function called Heterocentric Sample Loss. It optimizes both the sample features and the center of the sample features in the batch. In addition, we also propose a network structure combining spatial and channel features and a random channel enhancement method, which improves feature discrimination and robustness to color changes. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on the SYSU-MM01 and RegDB datasets to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Learning with Noisy Labels (LNL) aims to improve the model generalization when facing data with noisy labels, and existing methods generally assume that noisy labels come from known classes, called closed-set noise. However, in real-world scenarios, noisy labels from similar unknown classes, i.e., open-set noise, may occur during the training and inference stage. Such open-world noisy labels may significantly impact the performance of LNL methods. In this study, we propose a novel dual-space joint learning method to robustly handle the open-world noise. To mitigate model overfitting on closed-set and open-set noises, a dual representation space is constructed by two networks. One is a projection network that learns shared representations in the prototype space, while the other is a One-Vs-All (OVA) network that makes predictions using unique semantic representations in the class-independent space. Then, bi-level contrastive learning and consistency regularization are introduced in two spaces to enhance the detection capability for data with unknown classes. To benefit from the memorization effects across different types of samples, class-independent margin criteria are designed for sample identification, which selects clean samples, weights closed-set noise, and filters open-set noise effectively. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods and achieves an average accuracy improvement of 4.55% and an AUROC improvement of 6.17% on CIFAR80N. DNA triple helix structure, as a highly specific gene targeting tool, enable gene regulation by precisely identifying and binding to target DNA sequences. However, the limits of design quality and efficiency affect their wide application in gene therapy. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an antiparallel DNA triple helixes design method-MFN based on matrix chaotic game representation (mCGR) and flow network. Leveraging the structural characteristics of DNA sequences, this method employs the mCGR algorithm to construct an initial matrix, generating a set of DNA sequences that conform to foundational constraints. Then, these sequences are mapped as stream network nodes to screen crosstalk structures by path search, and the whole process is observable and interpretable. Experimental results show that MFN significantly improves the design efficiency of triple helix structure and reduces crosstalk phenomenon. Wet experiments further verify the effectiveness of the method. In summary, MFN achieves an efficient and high-quality design of DNA triple helixes and provides a new idea for targeted gene therapy. © 2024 IEEE.
