A new based on Semi-supervised classification theory for SAR images in contourlet domain is proposed, in this paper. Attempting to get better and faster performance, the PSO algorithm (Particle swarm optimization algorithm) and contourlet domain is proposed to instead of traditional k-means algorithm. PSO is used to find the global optimum by performing a global search in the whole solution space. And then, contourlet is applied in front of construct the similarity matrix to extract more effective eigenvalues. In section five, the proposed algorithm got better classification results than the traditional k-means algorithm which is proved by experimental results show that in terms of running time, classification accuracy and Kappa coefficient. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Group-wise inhibition based feature regularization for robust classification

The convolutional neural network (CNN) is vulnerable to degraded images with even very small variations (e.g. corrupted and adversarial samples). One of the possible reasons is that CNN pays more attention to the most discriminative regions, but ignores the auxiliary features when learning, leading to the lack of feature diversity for final judgment. In our method, we propose to dynamically suppress significant activation values of CNN by group-wise inhibition, but not fixedly or randomly handle them when training. The feature maps with different activation distribution are then processed separately to take the feature independence into account. CNN is finally guided to learn richer discriminative features hierarchically for robust classification according to the proposed regularization. Our method is comprehensively evaluated under multiple settings, including classification against corruptions, adversarial attacks and low data regime. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve significant improvements in terms of both robustness and generalization performances, when compared with the state-of-the-art methods. IGTP: A next point-of-interest recommendation method that integrates geospatial and temporal preferences

With the rapid development of location-based social networks(LBSNs), point-of-interest(POI) recommendation has become an important way to meet the personalized needs of users. The purpose of POI recommendation is to provide personalized POI recommendation services for users. However, general POI recommendations cannot meet the individual needs of users. This is mainly because the decision-making process for users to choose POIs is very complicated and will be affected by various user contexts such as time, location, etc. This paper proposes a next POI recommendation method that integrates geospatial and temporal preferences, called IGTP. Compared with general POI recommendation, IGTP can provide more personalized recommendations for users according to their context information. First, IGTP uses users’ preferences information to model users’ check-in histories to effectively overcome the challenge of extremely sparse check-in data. Secondly, IGTP takes into account the geographic distance and density factors that affect people’s choice of POIs, and limits POIs to be recommended to the potential activitive area centered on the current loca- tion of the target user. Finally, IGTP integrates geospatial and users’ temporal preferences information into a unified recommendation process. QoS-aware based web service recommendation is one of the crucial solutions to help users find high-quality web services. To accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services, it is usually required to collect historical QoS data of users (QoS data for short). If these collected QoS data are improperly processed, QoS data privacy may be threatened. However, how to accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services while protecting QoS data privacy has not been well studied. In response to the situation, we propose a hybrid web service recommendation mechanism, which is divided into three parts. In the first part, the QoS data privacy preservation algorithm, which called DVO, is proposed based on keeping the cosine similarity of QoS data unchanged, that is, to realize the confusion of QoS data while ensuring the availability of QoS data remains unchanged. In the second part, a hybrid matrix factorization model based on location information and service features, which called LCLMF, is proposed to improve the accuracy of QoS values prediction. According to DVO and LCLMF, the DVO + LCLMF is designed in the third part, which can accurately predict QoS values while protecting QoS data privacy. The experimental results show that DVO + LCLMF can accurately predict the QoS values of candidate services on the basis of attaining QoS data privacy protection. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Universal deep network for steganalysis of color image based on channel representation

Up to now, most existing steganalytic methods are designed for grayscale images, and they are not suitable for color images that are widely used in current social networks. In this paper, we design a universal color image steganalysis network (called UCNet) in spatial and JPEG domains. The proposed method includes preprocessing, convolutional, and classification modules. To preserve the steganographic artifacts in each color channel, in preprocessing module, we firstly separate the input image into three channels according to the corresponding embedding spaces (i.e. RGB for spatial steganography and YCbCr for JPEG steganography), and then extract the image residuals with 62 fixed high-pass filters, finally concatenate all truncated residuals for subsequent analysis rather than adding them together with normal convolution like existing CNN-based steganalyzers. To accelerate the network convergence and effectively reduce the number of parameters, in convolutional module, we carefully design three types of layers with different shortcut connections and group convolution structures to further learn high-level steganalytic features. In classification module, we employ a global average pooling and fully connected layer for classification. We conduct extensive experiments on ALASKA II to demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art results compared with the modern CNN-based steganalyzers (e.g., SRNet and J-YeNet) in both spatial and JPEG domains, while keeping relatively few memory requirements and training time. Machine Learning-based Energy-Aware Offloading in Edge-Cloud Vehicular Networks

A vehicular network underpinned by the 3-tier vehicle-edge-cloud infrastructure enables an efficient and safer travel experience. The compute-intensive vehicular applications are often offloaded to the edge and/or cloud servers to enhance the applications’ Quality of Services (QoS). The underlying edge-cloud servers consume a high among of energy. Consequently, it becomes crucial to optimizing energy consumption in the offloading process. Current energy-efficient offloading strategies in 2-tier vehicle-edge infrastructure, do not account for cloud computing energy consumption. In this paper, we address this void by proposing a machine learning-based energy-aware offloading algorithm, which optimizes the energy of the edge-cloud computing platform. The offloading strategy is enabled by the Support Vector Machine (SVM) regression model machine learning algorithm used for the edge-cloud power prediction. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a promising approach in energy savings.

CFDIL: A context-aware feature deep interaction learning for app recommendation

The rapid development of Mobile Internet has spawned various mobile applications (apps). A large number of apps make it difficult for users to choose apps conveniently, causing the app overload problem. As the most effective tool to solve the problem of app overload, the app recommendation has attracted extensive attention of researchers. Traditional recommendation methods usually use historical data of apps used by users to explore their preferences, and then make an app recommendation list for users. Although the traditional app recommendation methods have achieved certain results, the performance of app recommendation still needs to be improved due to the following two reasons. On the one hand, it is difficult to construct traditional app recommendation models when facing with the sparse user-app interaction data. On the other hand, contextual information has a large impact on users’ app usage preferences, which is often overlooked by traditional app recommendation methods. To overcome the aforementioned problems, we proposed a Context-aware Feature Deep Interaction Learning (CFDIL) method to explore user preferences, and then perform app recommendation by learning potential user-app relationships in different contexts. The novelty of CFDIL is as follows: (1) CFDIL incorporates contextual features into users’ preferences modeling by constructing a novel user and app feature portrait. (2) The problem of data sparsity is effectively solved by the use of dense user and app feature portraits, as well as the tensor operations for label sets. (3) CFDIL trains a new deep network structure, which can make accurate app recommendation using the contextual information and attribute information of users and apps. We applied CFDIL on three real datasets and conducted extensive experiments, which showed that CFDIL outperformed the benchmark method. © 2021, CC BY.

The field of pose estimation has a wide range of application prospects in various industries in the current era. With the continuous development of deep learning techniques, the effects in the field of human pose estimation are constantly being optimized. However, due to the influence of factors such as occlusion and human posture variability, it is easy to lead to inaccurate identification of keypoints and even keypoints' missing and matching errors, there is still a lot of optimization space for the effect of pose estimation. In this paper, we propose an improvement to generate heatmaps in the training process: increase the radius of the Gaussian kernel and adjust the smoothness of Gaussian distribution to get a larger receptive field, encourage the model to use more context information in prediction, and control other parameters unchanged on the premise of using heatmap regression. Improve keypoint detection performance by optimizing this item. In the experiment, for the COCO-Keypoint data set, we selected different methods published in recent years, and after our improvement, we obtained better accuracy and performance than the original method, which proves the validity of our method.

In real-world scenarios, capturing scenes with excessive dynamic range often leads to the partial loss of highlight or dark area information due to irradiance variations and limitations in the capture capabilities of imaging devices caused by their size and material constraints. This phenomenon gives rise to anomalous exposure problems and triggers the loss of crucial initial details, thereby becoming a significant obstacle to achieving high image quality. Despite numerous researchers' integration of exposure compensation techniques into the imaging process, the anomalous exposure problem remains unsolved, hindering progress in image processing. Consequently, considerable research is valuable in implementing exposure calibration techniques on visual perception and multimedia devices. This dissertation proposes FARDBUNet, a novel end-to-end exposure calibration model designed to address the anomalous exposure problem. A key innovation of FARDBUNet is the incorporation of a fused attention mechanism, enabling the model to prioritize regions needing enhanced correction while accounting for the global exposure characteristics of the image. Additionally, to tackle the challenge of inadequate information availability in the localized areas due to exposure issues, we introduce an atrous residual dense block that efficiently captures local information by expanding the receptive field. Comprehensive tests validate the effectiveness of our suggested model, which performs on par with leading techniques on expansive exposure datasets.

Epilepsy is a brain disorder caused by abnormal discharges of neurons in brain. It is one of the most commonly studied disorders in neurology. The research of epilepsy electroencephalogram (EEG) has become a hot research topic. We find that in epilepsy EEG detection task, many previous methods focused on directly collecting the data of each channel, but these methods seldom analyse relationships between signals. Therefore, we propose the Epilepsy EEG Graph Convolutional Network EGCN, which makes full use of correlations between channels to deeply mine data information. We specifically design 5-layer graph convolutional network structure for classification of healthy and epileptic patients. The method is applied to public data set (Boon and CHB-MIT) to establish a reasonable classification model. And we compare it with some advanced algorithms. The experimental results show that the E-GCN method is superior to many existing methods in classification accuracy. In brief, the E-GCN method can be effectively used in classification and detection for epilepsy. This provides new ideas for colleagues, who study epilepsy EEG. In addition, this also provides richer experience for diagnosis of epilepsy. © 2020 IEEE.
