Cross-dataset emotion recognition as an extremely challenging task in the field of EEG-based affective computing is influenced by many factors, which makes the universal models yield unsatisfactory results. Facing the situation that lacks EEG information decoding research, we first analyzed the impact of different EEG information(individual, session, emotion and trial) for emotion recognition by sample space visualization, sample aggregation phenomena quantification, and energy pattern analysis on five public datasets. Based on these phenomena and patterns, we provided the processing methods and interpretable work of various EEG differences. Through the analysis of emotional feature distribution patterns, the Individual Emotional Feature Distribution Difference(IEFDD) was found, which was also considered as the main factor of the stability for emotion recognition. After analyzing the limitations of traditional modeling approach suffering from IEFDD, the Weight-based Channel-model Matrix Framework(WCMF) was proposed. To reasonably characterize emotional feature distribution patterns, four weight extraction methods were designed, and the optimal was the correction T-test(CT) weight extraction method. Finally, the performance of WCMF was validated on cross-dataset tasks in two kinds of experiments that simulated different practical scenarios, and the results showed that WCMF had more stable and better emotion recognition ability. Visual tracking is a fundamental capability for robots tasked with humans and environment interaction. However, state-of-the-art visual tracking methods are still prone to failures and are imprecise when applied to challenging stereos, and their results are generally confidence agonistic. These methods depend on an embedded deep learning model to provide deterministic features or regression maps. A deterministic output with low confidence can result in disastrous consequences and lacks evidence needed for subsequent operations. Moreover, training data ambiguities or noise in the observations (so-called data uncertainty) can also lead to inherent uncertainty. In this paper, we focus on exploiting probabilistic Siamese visual tracking with a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE). First, we build a bridge between the Siamese architecture and the CVAE and propose a novel Bayesian visual tracking method. Second, the proposed method generates a complete probability distribution that enables the production of multiple plausible tracking outputs. Third, CVAE conditioned by ground truth data encodes a low-dimensional latent space and conducts noise-injection training to prevent overfitting. Our proposed tracking method outperformed the state-of-the-art trackers on the VOT2016, VOT2018 and TColor-128 datasets.

Balancing Exploration and Exploitation for Solving Large-scale Multiobjective Optimization via Attention Mechanism

Large-scale multiobjective optimization problems (LSMOPs) refer to optimization problems with multiple conflicting optimization objectives and hundreds or even thousands of decision variables. A key point in solving LSMOPs is how to balance exploration and exploitation so that the algorithm can search in a huge decision space efficiently. Large-scale multiobjective evolutionary algorithms consider the balance between exploration and exploitation from the individual's perspective. However, these algorithms ignore the significance of tackling this issue from the perspective of decision variables, which makes the algorithm lack the ability to search from different dimensions and limits the performance of the algorithm. In this paper, we propose a large-scale multiobjective optimization algorithm based on the attention mechanism, called (LMOAM). The attention mechanism will assign a unique weight to each decision variable, and LMOAM will use this weight to strike a balance between exploration and exploitation from the decision variable level. Nine different sets of LSMOP benchmarks are conducted to verify the algorithm proposed in this paper, and the experimental results validate the effectiveness of our design. A molecular device: A DNA molecular lock driven by the nicking enzymes

As people are placing more and more importance on information security, how to realize the protection of information has become a hotspot of current research. As a security device, DNA molecular locks have great potential to realize information protection at the molecular level. However, building a highly secure molecular lock is still a serious challenge. Therefore, taking advantage of the DNA strand displacement and enzyme control technology, we constructed a molecular lock with a self-destructive mechanism. This molecular lock is mainly composed of logic circuits and takes nicking enzymes as inputs. To build this molecular lock, we first constructed a series of cascade circuits, including a YES-YES cascade circuit and a YES-AND cascade circuit. Then, an Inhibit logic gate was constructed to explore the inhibitory properties between different combinations of two nicking enzymes. Finally, using the characteristics of mutual inhibition between several enzymes, a DNA molecular lock driven by three nicking enzymes was constructed. In this molecular device, only the correct sequence of nicking enzymes can be input to ensure the normal operation of the molecular lock. Once the wrong password is entered, the device will be destroyed and cannot be recovered, which effectively prevents intruders from cracking the lock through exhaustive methods. The molecular lock has the function of simulating an electronic keyboard, which can realize the protection of information at the molecular level, and provides a new implementation method for building more advanced and complex molecular devices.

During the past decade, deep learning has achieved excellent results in many classic machine learning problems, such as face recognition, spam detection, and financial prediction, etc. The success of deep learning mainly benefits from training on a large amount of data gathered from different sources. However, the training data may include highly sensitive information that may lead to serious threats to personal privacy. In this paper, we review privacy threats in deep learning and present effective privacy-preserving techniques in the literature against these threats. We give a detailed comparison of different techniques and summarize the performance of the existing solutions. Furthermore, we discuss some open problems and challenges in this research area. In the end, we conclude this paper and point out possible research directions.

BACKGROUND:Bioinformatics is a subject produced by the combination of life science and computer science. It mainly uses computer technology to study the laws of biological systems. The design and realization of DNA circuit reaction is one of the important contents of bioinformatics. RESULTS:In this paper, nonlinear dynamic system model with Lévy jump based on entropy-driven amplifier (EDA) circuit response is studied. Firstly, nonlinear biochemical reaction system model is established based on EDA circuit response. Considering the influence of disturbance factors on the system, nonlinear biochemical reaction system with Lévy jump is built. Secondly, in order to prove that the constructed system conforms to the actual meaning, the existence and uniqueness of the system solution is analyzed. Next, the sufficient conditions for the end and continuation of EDA circuit reaction are certified. Finally, the correctness of the theoretical results is proved by numerical simulation, and the reactivity of THTSignal in EDA circuit under different noise intensity is verified. CONCLUSIONS:In EDA circuit reaction, the intensity of external noise has a significant impact on the system. The end of EDA circuit reaction is closely related to the intensity of Lévy noise, and Lévy jump has a significant impact on the nature of biochemical reaction system.

Effectively obtaining the centerline of the coronary arteries is very important to the clinical medical diagnosis. Cellular automata are extensively used to find fine solutions in many complex hard. However, it has the problem of large amount of computation. In this paper, we propose an automatic extraction method of coronary centerline based on cellular automata. Different from the existing methods, the distance from boundary field is used to extract the centerline of the coronary arteries roughly, which can place the candidate voxel at the center of the coronary arteries and reduce the size of the data. Furthermore, the centerlines of the coronary arteries are extracted accurately by using cellular automata to find the shortest path. The proposed method can extract the centerlines of each branch of the coronary arteries simultaneously from a single source to multiple destinations. Furthermore, compared to the method in Ref [10], our proposed method works well, especially in the case of large vessel curvature, the voxels at the extracted centerline are relatively centered. In the last, quantitative evaluation is conducted on the coronary arteries and the results show that the proposed method achieves a smaller deviation distance.

Generalized label enhancement with sample correlations

Recently, label distribution learning (LDL) has drawn much attention in machine learning, where LDL model is learned from labelel instances. Different from single-label and multi-label annotations, label distributions describe the instance by multiple labels with different intensities and accommodate to more general scenes. Since most existing machine learning datasets merely provide logical labels, label distributions are unavailable in many real-world applications. To handle this problem, we propose two novel label enhancement methods, i.e., Label Enhancement with Sample Correlations (LESC) and generalized Label Enhancement with Sample Correlations (gLESC). More specifically, LESC employs a low-rank representation of samples in the feature space, and gLESC leverages a tensor multi-rank minimization to further investigate the sample correlations in both the feature space and label space. Benefitting from the sample correlations, the proposed methods can boost the performance of label enhancement. Extensive experiments on 14 benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our methods. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Evolution of cooperation in spatial heterogeneous social dilemmas with dynamic self-adaptive matching

From the perspective of real-world interaction scenarios, the assumption of monotypic social dilemma engagement or fixed role allocations within heterogeneous social dilemmas contexts fundamentally misrepresents the dynamics of human social cognition. Empirical evidence consistently suggests that behavioral plasticity is achieved through adaptive identity switching across heterogeneous social dilemma environments. Herein, we develop an evolutionary game model simultaneously encompassing multiple social dilemmas (prisoner's dilemma game and snowdrift game), wherein agents engage in polymorphic game-environment governed by their own adaptive characteristic. Specifically, during the strategy update phase, if the agent x ′ s current strategy is retained, its strategy stickiness θ x increases one unit; otherwise, the metric reverts to the initial value of 0. Additionally, if θ x reaches the maximum value of 100, it signifies the termination of the old agent and the initialization of a new one, with the metric also reverting to 0. Moreover, agent whose strategy adherence is beyond predefined threshold θ t h is classified as possessing strong social dilemma resolution capacity, while that is below the threshold is allocated to mild-conflict scenarios. Subsequently, through sufficient Monte Carlo simulation, we systematically investigate the evolutionary trajectories and stable-state characteristics of cooperation in dynamically adaptive multi-social dilemma systems, yielding several insightful findings.

Cloud computing enables remote execution of users' tasks. The pervasive adoption of cloud computing in smart cities' services and applications requires timely execution of tasks adhering to Quality of Services (QoS). However, the increasing use of computing servers exacerbates the issues of high energy consumption, operating costs, and environmental pollution. Maximizing the performance and minimizing the energy in a cloud data center is challenging. In this paper, we propose a performance and energy optimization bi-objective algorithm to tradeoff the contradicting performance and energy objectives. An evolutionary algorithm-based multi-objective optimization is for the first time proposed using system performance counters. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated using a realistic cloud dataset in a cloud computing environment. Our experimental results achieve higher performance and lower energy consumption compared to a state-of-the-art algorithm. © 2021, CC BY.
