Towards optimized tensor code generation for deep learning on sunway many-core processor

The flourish of deep learning frameworks and hardware platforms has been demanding an efficient compiler that can shield the diversity in both software and hardware in order to provide application *** the existing deep learning compilers,TVM is well known for its efficiency in code generation and optimization across diverse hardware *** the meanwhile,the Sunway many-core processor renders itself as a competitive candidate for its attractive computational power in both scientific computing and deep learning *** paper combines the trends in these two ***,we propose swTVM that extends the original TVM to support ahead-of-time compilation for architecture requiring cross-compilation such as *** addition,we leverage the architecture features during the compilation such as core group for massive parallelism,DMA for high bandwidth memory transfer and local device memory for data locality,in order to generate efficient codes for deep learning workloads on *** experiment results show that the codes generated by swTVM achieve 1.79x improvement of inference latency on average compared to the state-of-the-art deep learning framework on Sunway,across eight representative *** work is the first attempt from the compiler perspective to bridge the gap of deep learning and Sunway processor particularly with productivity and efficiency in *** believe this work will encourage more people to embrace the power of deep learning and Sunwaymany-coreprocessor.

In artificial intelligence(AI)based-complex power system management and control technology,one of the urgent tasks is to evaluate AI intelligence and invent a way of autonomous intelligence ***,there is,currently,nearly no standard technical framework for objective and quantitative intelligence *** this article,based on a parallel system framework,a method is established to objectively and quantitatively assess the intelligence level of an AI agent for active power corrective control of modern power systems,by resorting to human intelligence evaluation *** this basis,this article puts forward an AI self-evolution method based on intelligence assessment through embedding a quantitative intelligence assessment method into automated reinforcement learning(AutoRL)systems.A parallel system based quantitative assessment and self-evolution(PLASE)system for power grid corrective control AI is thereby constructed,taking Bayesian Optimization as the measure of AI evolution to fulfill autonomous evolution of AI under guidance of their intelligence assessment *** results exemplified in the power grid corrective control AI agent show the PLASE system can reliably and quantitatively assess the intelligence level of the power grid corrective control agent,and it could promote evolution of the power grid corrective control agent under guidance of intelligence assessment results,effectively,as well as intuitively improving its intelligence level through selfevolution.

China is the largest developing economy and carbon dioxide emitter in the world,the carbon neutrality goal of which will have a profound influence on the mitigation pathway of global climate *** transition towards a carbon-neutral society is integrated into the construction of ecological civilization in China,and brings profound implications for China’s socioeconomic ***,we not only summarize the major challenges in achieving carbon neutrality in China,but also identify the four potential new opportunities:namely,the acceleration of technology innovations,narrowing regional disparity by reshaping the value of resources,transforming the industrial structure,and co-benefits of pollution and carbon ***,we provide five policy suggestions and highlight the importance of balancing economic growth and carbon mitigation,and the joint efforts among the government,the enterprises,and the residents.

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technology accelerates technological progress and promotes social development, but also brings many security problems. Machine learning models may be affected, deceived, controlled or destroyed at different stages, e.g. training and inference, which may lead to serious consequences. In view of the main stages of the life cycle of machine learning, we summarizes the related attack and defense technologies based on threat matrix, makes a comprehensive and systematic analysis on the security issues of machine learning, and puts forward several security protection suggestions for intelligent information systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Modeling method of photovoltaic power generation grid connection based on particle swarm optimization neural network

Aiming at the complex structure, numerous equipment, intricate control and protection logic, as well as the existence of numerous unmodeled dynamics and black-box device models in photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected systems, a modeling method based on Particle Swarm Optimization Neural Network (PSO-NN) is proposed to address the inability of pure mechanism models to accurately simulate their operational dynamics. Utilizing the differences in active power response waveforms under Voltage-Frequency (Vf) control, Power-Reactive Power (PQ) control, and Droop control as criteria for control strategy identification, a PSO-NN model is constructed for PV grid-connected systems, with inputs comprising temperature, humidity, light intensity, voltage, and frequency disturbances, and outputs being active and reactive power. To validate the model's effectiveness, a PV grid-connected system model is built in a self-developed simulation software and connected to an IEEE 14-bus distribution network for simulation verification. The results demonstrate that the proposed PV grid-connected model can effectively identify the types of Vf control, PQ control, and Droop control strategies, and accurately reflect the dynamic response characteristics of active and reactive power under various voltage and frequency disturbances. © The Author(s) 2024.

A Noise-Excitation Generative Adversarial Network for Actuator Fault Diagnosis of Multi-legged Robot

This research provides a novel approach for detecting multi-legged robot actuator *** most significant concept is to design the Fault Diagnosis Generative Adversarial Network(FD-GAN)to fully adapt to the fault diagnosis problem with insufficient *** found that it is difficult for methods based on classification and prediction to learn failure patterns without enough data.A straightforward solution is to use massive amounts of normal data to drive the diagnostic *** introduce frequency-domain information and fuse multi-sensor data to increase the features and expand the difference between normal data and fault data.A GAN-based framework is designed to calculate the probability that the enhanced data belongs to the normal *** uses a generator network as a feature extractor,and uses a discriminator network as a fault probability evaluator,which creates a new use of GAN in the field of fault *** the many learning strategies of GAN,we find that a key point that can distinguish the two types of data is to use the hidden layer noise with appropriate discrimination as the *** also design a fault location method based on binary search,which greatly improves the search efficiency and engineering value of the entire *** have conducted a lot of experiments to prove the diagnostic effectiveness of our architecture in various road conditions and working *** compared FD-GAN with popular diagnostic *** results show that our method has the highest accuracy and recall rate.

Regional transport characteristics of PM2.5 pollution events in Beijing during 2018–2021

Although air pollutant emissions have sharply reduced in recent years,the occurrence of PM_(2.5) pollution events remains an intractable environmental problem in Beijing,and regional transport is the key influence ***,it has been difficult to identify regional transport characteristics and the main contributors to pollution events in recent *** this study,the relative contribution of regional transport was quantified(61.3%)in PM_(2.5) pollution events during 2018-2021 by the Community Multiscale Air Quality model embedded with the Integrated Source Apportionment Model(CMAQ-ISAM).The four regions with the largest fractional contributions to Beijing for all events were Shandong(7.7%),South Hebei(7.3%),Baoding(6.2%),and Langfang(5.8%).Pollution events were classified into the following types based on regional transport directions:local,southwest(SW),southeast(SE),south-mixed(SM),and *** on the transport distance,the SW,SE,and SM types can be subdivided into SW-short,SW-long,SE-short,SE-long,SM-short,SM-long distance from southwest,SM-long distance from southeast,and SM-long distance from southwest and ***-long was regarded as the most important type,with the highest relative frequency(20%).The transport directions were related to the southwest wind at 925 hPa and southeast wind at 1000 hPa in the south of the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei(BTH)region,and the distance was mainly controlled by wind *** wind-field difference can be attributed to the low-pressure and high-pressure systems that control the BTH *** results suggest that regional joint pollution control should be optimized based on the transport type.

Laser active suppressing jamming is one of the most effective technologies to cope with optoelectronic imaging system. Multiple horizontal crosstalk lines have been observed with the increase of incident laser power on the optoelectric detector, when we carried out the test of supercontinuum laser jamming optoelectronic imaging system. When the laser incident power reached 5mW, there was a longitudinal crosstalk line passing through the center of the main laser spot in the output image. The width of the longitudinal crosstalk line increased with the increase of incident power and it gradually covered the main spot. Multiple horizontal crosstalk lines faintly appeared in the output image when the incident power increased to 200mW. We continued to increase the incident power to reach 500mW and the multiple horizontal crosstalk lines cover the entire output image. We analyzed the generation mechanism of multiple crosstalk lines based on the working principle of photodetectors and have found that the photo-generated charges sharply increased during the integration time of the detector when the power of incident laser is very high. Overflow charges exceeding full well capacity quickly filled the entire column of vertical transfer CCD, secondly overflowed to the horizontal transfer CCD, and lastly filled the entire row of horizontal transfer CCD. The research results can provide the theoretical reference and data support for the research on laser active suppressing interference technology. © 2024 SPIE.

Inhibiting liquid permeation into silicone rubber by superhydrophobic coating for prolonged service life

Liquid permeation into silicone rubber(SR)may lead to the degradation or complete failure of the composite *** to inhibit liquid permeation,two kinds of superhydrophobic coatings are applied to the SR *** liquid permeation properties of SR with different types of liquids are investigated,and the Langmuir diffusion model is applied to analyse the experimental *** results show that the composite superhydrophobic coating can effectively inhibit liquid permeation by reducing the contact area between the surface and liquid,and the stable structure of the composite coating can maintain the performance after the liquid permeation and ***,the nano‐particle coating without the polymer binder experiences severe performance degradation during the immersion test,and it cannot restrain the liquid permeation anymore after it loses the *** a validation of the effective protection,the insulation resistivity change was *** resistivity decreases sharply for the pristine SR after water permeation;however,the decrease is much smaller for the coated *** current study not only provides new insight into the liquid permeation properties of SR with different surface wettability but also suggests an effective measure to prevent liquid permeation into SR.
