Energy is important for human survival and *** September 2020,the Chinese government announced that“China aims to have their CO_(2) emissions peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.”As China’s reformation and opening-up proceeds into its fifth decade,this new vision for its future is in line with that of the world’s major economies in terms of the need to reach net zero emissions globally by the mid-21stcentury[1].However,coal-fueled thermal power generation is currently dominant and accounts for more than 70%of the total amount of power generated in China,making it the world’s largest energy consumer and carbon *** on the country’s domestic resources,namely the abundance of coal and scarcity of oil and gas,it would be difficult to fundamentally change this coal-based energy structure in the short *** 2021,the global total energy sector was responsible for 36.3 Gt of CO_(2) emissions,including approximately 12 Gt from China,which thus accounts for one-third of the total global emissions[2].The demand for efficiency,energy savings,and emissions reduction in the power generation industry has become increasingly *** need has arisen to enhance ways in which to use coal cleanly and efficiently,reduce the consumption thereof,and replace coal with other forms of *** addition,carbon emissions need to be lowered by promoting the adoption of alternative power generation technologies that are more energy *** would require transformation away from coal power and the exploration of clean,efficient,flexible,and safe forms of energy as the main future development directions[3].

Nanopowder production by gas-embedded electrical explosion of wire

A small electrical explosion of wire （EEW） setup for nanopowder production is constructed. It consists of a low inductance capacitor bank of 2 μF–4 μF typically charged to 8 kV–30 kV, a triggered gas switch, and a production chamber housing the exploding wire load and ambient gas. With the EEW device, nanosize powders of titanium oxides, titanium nitrides, copper oxides, and zinc oxides are successfully synthesized. The average particle size of synthesized powders under different experimental conditions is in a range of 20nm–80nm. The pressure of ambient gas or wire vapor can strongly affect the average particle size. The lower the pressure, the smaller the particle size is. For wire material with relatively high resistivity, such as titanium, whose deposited energy Wd is often less than sublimation energy W s due to the flashover breakdown along the wire prematurely ending the Joule heating process, the synthesized particle size of titanium oxides or titanium nitrides increases with overheat coefficient k （k = W d /Ws ） increasing.

With the rapid development of renewable energies,especially wind power,how to manage unexpected generation variations economically and reliably in dispatch has become crucial for modern power *** address this issue,this paper presents an affine disturbance feedback robust dispatch(ADF-RD) methodology for power systems with large scale wind power integration in the framework of adjustable robust optimization(ARO).This methodology divides the dispatching process into pre-dispatch and ***-dispatch decision immunizes against all possible realizations of uncertainties in a set,while re-dispatch which can be regarded as a feedback will be adaptively adjusted using an affine function with respect to the realized uncertainty in real *** ADF-RD methodology is applied to an hourly ahead dispatch(HAD) *** effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed ADF-RD methodology are demonstrated by numerical experiments carried on a five-bus system.

The dynamic properties between torsional and bending vibrations of a vertical mass unbalanced rotor are described. The equation of rotor system motion is obtained by Lagrangian dynamics without considering the external actuating forces and torque, shows coupling effect and nonlinear interaction between the rotor system bending and torsional vibrations. An attempt of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation is made to reveal dynamic characteristics of a rotor system. Theoretical analysis of the rotor dynamic equations based on perturbation theory indicates that at stable state of vibration the coupled effect on the rotor system is nonexistent and the bending vibration becomes equal amplitude with shafting speed at stable vibration state. While the torsional vibration keeps on attenuating until it stops. In addition, the numerical simulation results to the dynamic equations, show that coupled torsional and bending vibrations are induced by mass eccentricity, and coupled effect can only be found in vibration initial state of the rotor system. Other numerical simulation results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.

Surface discharge of oil paper insulation is one of the insulation defects in converter transformers. However, the mechanism of surface discharge in oil paper insulation remains unclear. A novel method of surface discharge in oil paper insulation based on finite element method (FEM) and cellular automata (CA) was proposed to study the mechanism and fractal characteristics. Firstly, the needle-plate electrode without normal component of electric field density was adopted as the geometric model, on which the unstructured triangular mesh generation was performed. Then, the FEM is applied to compute the distribution of potential, electric field and charge in the simulated field, which performed better than finite difference method (FDM) in accuracy and complexity of computation. Finally, the CA model was adopted to simulate the development of surface discharge with the electric field threshold. The results indicated that the numerical simulation model based on FEM-CA can simulate the dynamic process and fractal characteristics of surface discharge in oil paper insulation. According to the fractal dimension curve, the surface discharge can be obviously divided into three stages: inception, propagation and flashover. With the increase of applied voltage, the fractal dimension of surface discharge increases in inception stage, then decreases in propagation stage, and finally increases in flashover stage. © 2021 The Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Applying co-simulation technology is a very important trend in power electronics simulation, which can make full use of the merits of different software to improve the efficiency of building up a system. In this paper, a simulation platform for three-level adjustable speed drive (ASD) based on co-simulation of PSIM and SIMULINK is presented, which includes the interface between PSIM and SIMULINK, main circuit in PSIM, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), dead time and minimum pulse width, view of output voltage and its Fourier analysis in SIMULINK Based on this platform, the cause of large current when motor starts is studied. simulation and experimental results show that the minimum pulse width contributes a lot for the large starting current of the ASD. In conclusion, applying the simulation platform introduced in this paper, the dynamic behavior of the three-level ASD can be easily studied, which reduces the cost and improves efficiency at the same time compared to hardware investments, and may help to realize the optimal design of the ASD in practice. © 2006 IEEE.

Solid oxide fuel cell combined with heat and power(SOFC-CHP)system is a distributed power generation system with low pollution and high *** this paper,a 10 kW SOFC-CHP system model using syngas was built in Aspen *** operating parameters,such as steam to fuel ratio,stack temperature,reformer temperature,air flow rate,and air preheating temperature,were *** was conducted based on the simulation *** suggest that higher steam to fuel ratio is beneficial to the electrical efficiency,but it might decrease the gross system *** stack and reformer temperatures contribute to the electrical efficiency,and the optimal operating temperatures of stack and reformer when considering the stack degradation are 750℃and 700℃,*** air preheating temperature barely affects the electrical efficiency but affects the thermal efficiency and the gross system efficiency,the recommended value is around 600℃under the reference condition.

A new IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) model for simulation of eomplicated multi-IGBT cireuits is presented. Based on the gate chargc and discharge behaviors of IGBT, it piecewise models the turn-on and -off transient oflGBT, and simulates the static characteristics with curve fitting method . With the kcy features of high simulation spccd, easy parameters extraction and clear physical meaning, the model is available for various IGBTs and system level circuits. This paper describes the structure and equivalent circuit of the model in detail, implements it with the simulation tool of PSIM package, and determines the parameters of the model for an IGBT of FF300R12ME3 as an example. The accuracy of the model is verified by the comparison between the simulated and experimental results. ©2009 IEEE.

Two axially-laminated Glued Axially-Laminated Synchronous Reluctance Permanent Magnetic (SR-PM) motors are designed and tested. Compared to general Axially-Laminated Synchronous Reluctance (SR) motors, the steel bracket is replaced with iron lamination for reduction of iron loss in rotor. The axially-laminated Iron and magnet are glued on the bracket with high strength cement with the help of special clamping device. Then the rotor Is grinded to the cylinder and a stainless steel rotor sleeve is added to enhance the strength. The design flow starts with initial sizes trade-off and static performance analysis followed by high speed performance validation and dynamic operation simulations. The electromagnetic parameters measurement, no-load and load test are carried out on test bed to verify the design. The comparison of these two sample motors are given for future design reference. It can be concluded that very poor max energy product PM material is not a good choice for application that requires high power density. © 2005 IEEE.

Wireless power transfer (WPT) is the state-of-the-art research interest. In the WPT system efficiency is an important figure of merit. In order to reduce the impact of the source internal resistance and improve the system efficiency of the conventional two-coil structure, a source coil is added to the two-coil structure, forming a three-coil structure. Both the two-coil structure and the three-coil structure are modeled and analyzed with the circuit theory. The system efficiencies of both structures with optimal loads and a fixed load are deduced. The system efficiency of the three-coil structure is proved to be higher than that of the two-coil structure. An experimental apparatus is implemented and the experimental results match well with the theoretical calculations. The larger the source internal resistance, the more significantly the addition of the source coil improves the system efficiency. © 2014 IEEE.
