Enhancing precision for simultaneous 3D localization and 3D orientation with structured illumination

Determining the three-dimensional (3D) position and orientation of molecules from limited fluorescence photons is challenging. Existing modulated illumination localization microscopy partially transfers the photon burden to excitation intensity gradients, advancing precision to the molecular scale. However, most simultaneous localization and orientation methods rely on polarization splitting in the detection path and are sensitive to the signal-to-background ratio. This sensitivity is further exacerbated by sequential structured illumination (SSI), potentially compromising robustness. Here, we introduce V-SIMFLUX, which integrates SSI and the Vortex PSF without polarization-splitting detection. Our theoretical analysis shows that V-SIMFLUX improves the precision of all estimated parameters, notably achieving a typical 2.9-fold improvement in lateral localization and a 1.7-fold enhancement in azimuthal orientation compared to conventional wide-field illumination. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Gland instance segmentation is an essential but challenging task in the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma. The existing models usually achieve gland instance segmentation through multi-task learning and boundary loss constraint. However, how to deal with the problems of gland adhesion and inaccurate boundary in segmenting the complex samples remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a novel geometric feature named displacement field (DF), which can represent the geometric information such as shape, size, and orientation of the glands. Based on the explicit constraint of DF, a displacement-field assisted graph energy transmitter (DFGET) framework is proposed for solving the above problems. Using such graph framework, the gland semantic segmentation map and the displacement field of the graph nodes are estimated with two graph network branches. With the constraint of DF, a graph cluster module is presented to improve the intra-class feature consistency and inter-class feature discrepancy, as well as to separate the adherent glands. Extensive comparison and ablation experiments on the GlaS dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the displacement field and the superiority of DFGET. Compared to the best comparative model, DFGET increases the object-Dice and object-F1 score by 2.27% and 3.11% respectively, while decreases the object-HD by 15.58, achieving state-of-the-art performance, which indicates that DFGET can serve as an auxiliary tool for the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma. © 2024 IEEE.

The(electro)chemical stability and Li dendrite suppression capability of sulfide solid electrolytes(SEs)need further improvement for developing all-solid-state Li batteries(ASSLBs).Here,we report advanced halogen-rich argyrodites via I and Cl co-occupation on the crystal ***,a proper I content forms a single phase,whereas an excessive I causes precipitation of two argyrodite phases like a superlattice *** resultant synergistic effect of the optimized composition allows to gain high ionic conductivities at room temperature and-20℃,and enhances the(electro)chemical stability against Li and Li dendrite suppression *** Li|argyrodite interface is very sensitive to the ratio of I and Cl.A LiCl-and LiI-rich double-layer interface is observed from the cell using the SE with optimized composition,whereas too high I content forms only a single interface layer with a mixture of Lil and *** double-layer interface is found to effectively mitigate the Li/SE *** proper designed argyrodite enables ASSLBs to achieve good electrochemical properties at a broad temperature range regardless of the electrode *** co-occupation strategy provides a novel exploration for advanced halogen-rich argyrodite system.

HPE Transformer: Learning to Optimize Multi-Group Multicast Beamforming Under Nonconvex QoS Constraints

This paper studies the quality-of-service (QoS) constrained multi-group multicast beamforming design problem, where each multicast group is composed of a number of users requiring the same content. Due to the nonconvex QoS constraints, this problem is nonconvex and NP-hard. While existing optimization-based iterative algorithms can obtain a suboptimal solution, their iterative nature results in large computational complexity and delay. To facilitate real-time implementations, this paper proposes a deep learning-based approach, which consists of a beamforming structure assisted problem transformation and a customized neural network architecture named hierarchical permutation equivariance (HPE) transformer. The proposed HPE transformer is proved to be permutation equivariant with respect to the users within each multicast group, and also permutation equivariant with respect to different multicast groups. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed HPE transformer outperforms state-of-the-art optimization-based and deep learning-based approaches for multi-group multicast beamforming design in terms of the total transmit power, the constraint violation, and the computational time. In addition, the proposed HPE transformer achieves pretty good generalization performance on different numbers of users, different numbers of multicast groups, and different signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio targets. Comparative Analysis of ARIMA and LSTM Model-Based Anomaly Detection for Unannotated Structural Health Monitoring Data in an Immersed Tunnel

Structural Health Monitoring(SHM)systems have become a crucial tool for the operational management of long *** immersed tunnels exposed to both traffic loads and the effects of the marine environment,efficiently identifying abnormal conditions from the extensive unannotated SHM data presents a significant *** study proposed amodel-based approach for anomaly detection and conducted validation and comparative analysis of two distinct temporal predictive models using SHM data from a real immersed ***,a dynamic predictive model-based anomaly detectionmethod is proposed,which utilizes a rolling time window for modeling to achieve dynamic *** the assumption of temporal data similarity,an interval prediction value deviation was employed to determine the abnormality of the ***,dynamic predictive models were constructed based on the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)*** hyperparameters of these models were optimized and selected using monitoring data from the immersed tunnel,yielding viable static and dynamic predictive ***,the models were applied within the same segment of SHM data,to validate the effectiveness of the anomaly detection approach based on dynamic predictive modeling.A detailed comparative analysis discusses the discrepancies in temporal anomaly detection between the ARIMA-and LSTM-based *** results demonstrated that the dynamic predictive modelbased anomaly detection approach was effective for dealing with unannotated SHM *** a comparison between ARIMA and LSTM,it was found that ARIMA demonstrated higher modeling efficiency,rendering it suitable for short-term *** contrast,the LSTM model exhibited greater capacity to capture long-term performance trends and enhanced early warning capabilities,thereby resulting in superior overall performance.

Sulfide electrolyte-based all-solid-state batteries(ASSBs)are potential next generation energy storage technology due to the high ionic conductivity of sulfide electrolytes and potentially improved energy density and ***,the performance of ASSBs at/below subzero temperatures has not been explored ***,low temperature(LT)performance of LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811)|Li_(9.54)Si_(1.74)P_(1.44)S11.7Cl_(0.3)(LiSPSCl)|Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)(LTO)ASSBs was *** charging the ASSB to 6 V at−40℃,a capacity of 100.7 mAh∙g^(−1)at 20 mA∙g^(−1)was achieved,which is much higher than that charged to 4.3 V(4.6 mAh∙g^(−1))at−40℃.Moreover,atomic resolution microscopy revealed that the NCM811 remained almost intact even after being charged to 6 *** contrast,NCM811 was entirely destructed when charged to 6 V at room *** sharp difference arises from the large internal charge transfer resistance at LT which requires high voltage to ***,such high voltage is not harmful to the active material but beneficial to extracting most energy out of the ASSBs at *** also demonstrated that thinner electrolyte is favorable for LT operation of ASSBs due to the reduced ion transfer *** work provides new strategies to boost the capacity and energy density of sulfide-based ASSBs at LT for dedicated LT applications.
