Maximizing Area Coverage in Privacy-Preserving Worker Recruitment: A Prior Knowledge-Enhanced Geo-indistinguishable Approach

Worker recruitment for area coverage maximization, typically requires participants to upload location information, which can deter potential participation without proper protection. While existing studies resort to geo-indistinguishability to address this concern, they primarily focus on either specific task locations (Target Coverage) or operate under pre-defined recruitment quotas for an interested region (Area Coverage). These focuses not only yield suboptimal area coverage when scaled but also fail to leverage valuable prior knowledge in the form of participants’ noisy historical registered locations, to enhance both location obfuscation and worker identification processes. To address these limitations, we present WILTON, which optimizes area coverage under geo-indistinguishability by recruiting the minimum number of participants through the strategic utilization of noisy prior knowledge. In WILTON, to generate obfuscated locations, we propose a probabilistic and weight-aware input perturbation mechanism, which groups and weights prior locations rather than using only personal prior locations. To privately identify the recruited workers, we design a grid-based worker identification method, which provides a worst-case performance guarantee of ratio (Formula Presented) to the optimum. We provide a theoretical analysis of the privacy, utility, and complexity guarantees of WILTON. Experimental results over two real-world datasets and one synthetic dataset show that WILTON surpasses the state-of-the-arts by at least 8% in area coverage improvement. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Cupressaceae is a conifer family rich in plants of horticultural importance,including Cupressus,Chamaecyparis,Juniperus,and Thuja,yet genomic surveys are lacking for this *** gigantea,one of the many rare conifers that are threatened by climate change and anthropogenic habitat fragmentation,plays an ever-increasing role in ecotourism in *** infer how past climate change has shaped the population evolution of this species,we generated ade novochromosome-scale genome(10.92 Gb)and compared the species'population history and genetic load with that of a widespread close relative,*** demographic analyses,based on 83 re-sequenced individuals from multiple populations of the two species,revealed a sharp decline of population sizes during the first part of the ***,populations of *** then started to recover,while *** populations continued to decrease until *** total genomic diversity of *** is smaller than that of ***,but contrary to expectations,*** has fewer highly and mildly deleterious mutations than ***,and simulations and statistical tests support purifying selection during prolonged inbreeding as the *** results highlight the evolutionary consequences of decreased population size on the genetic burden of a long-lived endangered conifer with large genome size and suggest that genetic purging deserves more attention in conservation management.

Heat dissipation involved safety issues are crucial for industrial applications of the high-energy density battery and fast charging *** traditional air or liquid cooling methods suffering from space limitation and possible leakage of electricity during charge process,emerging phase change materials as solid cooling media are of growing *** them,paraffin wax(PW)with large latent heat capacity and low cost is desirable for heat dissipation and thermal management which mainly hindered by their relatively low thermal conductivity and susceptibility to ***,highly ordered and interconnected hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)networks were established via ice template method and introduced into PW to enhance the thermal *** composite with 20 wt%loading amount of h-BN can guarantee a highly ordered network and exhibited high thermal conductivity(1.86 W m^(-1) K^(-1))which was 4 times larger compared with that of random dispersed h-BN involved PW and nearly 8 times larger compared with that of bare *** optimal thermal conductive composites demonstrated ultrafast heat dissipation as well as leakage resistance for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),heat generated by LIBs can be effectively transferred under the working state and the surface temperature kept 6.9℃ lower at most under 2–5℃ continuous charge-discharge process compared with that of bare one which illustrated great potential for industrial thermal management.

Fragrant rice has a high market value,and it is a popular rice type among consumers owing to its pleasant *** methods,nitrogen(N)fertilizers,and silicon(Si)fertilizers can affect the grain yield and fragrance of fragrant ***,the core commercial rice production attributes,namely the head rice yield(HRY)and 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline(2-AP)content of fragrant rice,under various nitrogen and silicon(N-Si)fertilization levels and different plantation methods remain *** field experiment in this study was performed in the early seasons of 2018 and 2019 with two popular indica fragrant rice cultivars(Yuxiangyouzhan and Xiangyaxiangzhan).They were grown under six N-Si fertilization treatments(combinations of two levels of Si fertilizer,0 kg Si ha^(−1)(Si0)and 150 kg Si ha^(−1)(Si1),and three levels of N fertilizer,0 kg N ha^(−1)(N0),150 kg N ha^(−1)(N1),and 220 kg N ha^(−1)(N2))and three plantation methods(artificial transplanting(AT),mechanical transplanting(MT),and mechanical direct-seeding(MD)).The results showed that the N-Si fertilization treatments and all the plantation methods significantly affected the HRY and 2-AP content and related parameters of the two different fragrant rice *** with the Si0N0 treatment,the N-Si fertilization treatments resulted in higher HRY and 2-AP *** rates of brown rice,milled rice,head rice,and chalky rice of the fragrant rice also improved with the N-Si fertilization *** N-Si fertilization treatments increased the activities of N metabolism enzymes and the accumulation of N and Si in various parts of the fragrant rice,and affected their antioxidant response *** key parameters for the HRY and 2-AP content were assessed by redundancy ***,the structural equation model revealed that the Si and N accumulation levels indirectly affected the HRY by affecting the N metabolism enzyme activity,N use efficiency,and grain quality of fragrant ***,high N

Adaptive Occlusion Face Recognition Feature Fusion Network Based on Precise Guidance Mask Extraction

The uncertainty in the position and size of occluding objects greatly affects the extraction of identity features in facial recognition, which is a challenge that existing methods fail to effectively address. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces a novel feature fusion network for occluded facial recognition that adaptively handles arbitrary occlusions and accurately extracts occlusion information masks. The network effectively mitigates the impact of occlusions on facial identity features through a feature fusion module. The proposed method employs an occlusion classification module and an occlusion classification loss to precisely guide the extraction of accurate occlusion masks. Subsequently, an occlusion-aware hybrid attention module is introduced, which focuses on the relationship between facial features and occlusion masks across channel and spatial dimensions. This fusion strategy enables the extraction of facial identity features that are resilient to occlusions. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method holds a significant advantage in handling facial recognition tasks with arbitrary occlusions. On the LFW and MF1 synthetic occlusion datasets, the average accuracy rates reached 93.19% and 72.57%, respectively, showing improvements of 1.7 and 2.39 percent points over mainstream methods. © Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2025.

Low-rank optimization on Tucker tensor varieties

In the realm of tensor optimization, the low-rank Tucker decomposition is crucial for reducing the number of parameters and for saving storage. We explore the geometry of Tucker tensor varieties—the set of tensors with bounded Tucker rank—which is notably more intricate than the well-explored matrix varieties. We give an explicit parametrization of the tangent cone of Tucker tensor varieties and leverage its geometry to develop provable gradient-related line-search methods for optimization on Tucker tensor varieties. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work concerning geometry and optimization on Tucker tensor varieties. In practice, low-rank tensor optimization suffers from the difficulty of choosing a reliable rank parameter. To this end, we incorporate the established geometry and propose a Tucker rank-adaptive method that aims to identify an appropriate rank with guaranteed convergence. Numerical experiments on tensor completion reveal that the proposed methods are in favor of recovering performance over other state-of-the-art methods. Biochemical process control is often achieved through feedback control strategies for theoretical analysis and optimization of biochemical reaction processes. Here, the design improves the robustness of the biochemical process by taking advantage of the Smith prediction structure and internal mode control within the chemical reaction network theory framework to intervene against the time delays and perturbations present in the biochemical process. First, an IMC representation of Smith prediction is constructed using the presence of parameter rectification of the control method, and then an IMC-MSP control scheme is proposed. A first-order time-lag controlled object is established in the construction of the IMC-MSP control scheme. Besides, CRNs and kinetic representations are established based on the control structure to facilitate the evaluation of the control system performance. In this paper, CRNs representations of parabolic functions as signal inputs are defined for the first time and optimized for stepping signals to facilitate the design and study of biomolecular circuits. Notably, for the CRNs-based IMC-MSP control scheme, on the one hand, numerical simulation experiments are designed to verify the effectiveness of the whole scheme from multiple perspectives of time delays, external perturbations, and filter tuning parameters;on the other hand, using DNA strand displacement is reflected to verify the feasibility of the whole scheme. © 2023 IEEE.

To study the dynamic characteristics of remotely operated vehicle (ROV) underwater motion, a transformation matrix between the carrier coordinate system and the inertial coordinate system was established, and the rigid body dynamics model of the ROV was derived by using the Newton-Euler equation. According to the results of the ROV experimental prototype in this article, the dynamic model is simplified based on the force, motion characteristics, and structural characteristics. In the pool experiment, based on the propeller dynamic model, the least squares method was used to identify the parameters of the heading and vertical dynamic models, and through the experimental results under step control signals of different amplitudes, they were compared with the models under the same control signal. The output is subjected to error analysis. The experimental results show that the error between the theoretical value and the experimental value is small, verifying the accuracy of the ROV dynamics model established in this article. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
