Security assessment is one of the important problems, especially in the fields of military training, transportation and network management. The security "related parties"(entities in this paper) have internal relations in the three fields. It is of great significance of constructing the attributes of these entities or even designing a unified security assessment method. Security assessment in these areas has been studied and explored for a long time. However, the research is relatively scattered and unilateral. It is no unified and reusable method from data collection to security assessment. Based on the advantages of big data technology in the storage and analysis of massive data, the paper proposed a security risk element acquisition method from data collection and preprocessing, storage and mining to attribute extraction and aggregation. In addition, drawing on the idea of user portraits in other fields, constructed personnel entities, equipment entities and "other"entity labels related to security risks. Finally, a security risk assessment process based on these entities is designed. © 2021 IEEE.

Theoretical study on the improvement of the doping efficiency of Al in 4H-SiC by co-doping group-IVB elements

The p-type doping efficiency of 4 H silicon carbide(4 H-SiC)is rather low due to the large ionization energies of p-type *** an issue impedes the exploration of the full advantage of 4 H-SiC for semiconductor *** this study,we show that co-doping group-IVB elements effectively decreases the ionization energy of the most widely used p-type dopant,i.e.,aluminum(Al),through the defect-level repulsion between the energy levels of group-IVB elements and that of Al in 4 *** group-IVB elements Ti has the most prominent *** decreases the ionization energy of Al by nearly 50%,leading to a value as low as~0.13 *** a result,the ionization rate of Al with Ti co-doping is up to~5 times larger than that without co-doping at room temperature when the doping concentration is up to 10^(18)cm^(-3).This work may encourage the experimental co-doping of group-IVB elements such as Ti and Al to significantly improve the p-type doping efficiency of 4 H-SiC.

In Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) image steganalysis and forensics, the quantization step can reveal the history of image operations. Several methods for estimating the quantization step have been proposed by researchers. However, existing algorithms fail to account for robustness, which limits the application of these algorithms. To solve the above problems, we propose a two-stream network structure based on Swin Transformer. The spatial domain features of JPEG images exhibit strong robustness but low accuracy. Conversely, frequency domain features demonstrate high accuracy but weak robustness. Therefore, we design a two-stream network with the multi-scale feature of Swin Transformer to extract spatial domain features with high robustness and frequency domain features with high accuracy, respectively. Furthermore, to adaptively fuse features in both the frequency domain and spatial domain,we design a Spatial-frequency Information Dynamic Fusion (SIDF) module to dynamically allocate weights. Finally, we modify the network from a regression model to a classification model to speed up convergence and improve the accuracy of the algorithm. The experiment results show that the accuracy of the proposed method is higher than 98% on clean images. Meanwhile, in robust environments, the algorithm proposed maintains an average accuracy of over 81%. © 2024 ACM.

Accelerating Data Transfer in Dataflow Architectures Through a Look-Ahead Acknowledgment Mechanism

The dataflow architecture,which is characterized by a lack of a redundant unified control logic,has been shown to have an advantage over the control-flow architecture as it improves the computational performance and power efficiency,especially of applications used in high-performance computing(HPC).Importantly,the high computational efficiency of systems using the dataflow architecture is achieved by allowing program kernels to be activated in a simultaneous ***,a proper acknowledgment mechanism is required to distinguish the data that logically belongs to different *** solutions include the tagged-token matching mechanism in which the data is sent before acknowledgments are received but retried after rejection,or a handshake mechanism in which the data is only sent after acknowledgments are ***,these mechanisms are characterized by both inefficient data transfer and increased area *** performance of the dataflow architecture depends on the efficiency of data *** order to optimize the efficiency of data transfer in existing dataflow architectures with a minimal increase in area and power cost,we propose a Look-Ahead Acknowledgment(LAA)*** accelerates the execution flow by speculatively acknowledging ahead without *** simulation analysis based on a handshake mechanism shows that our LAA increases the average utilization of computational units by 23.9%,with a reduction in the average execution time by 17.4%and an increase in the average power efficiency of dataflow processors by 22.4%.Crucially,our novel approach results in a relatively small increase in the area and power consumption of the on-chip logic of less than 0.9%.In conclusion,the evaluation results suggest that Look-Ahead Acknowledgment is an effective improvement for data transfer in existing dataflow architectures.

Phase imaging techniques are pivotal for achieving high-contrast visualization of unstained biological specimens in vitro which is typically not applicable in narrow spaces. Recently, multimode fiber has shown promise in enabling high-resolution in vivo endoscopy in biological research. Herein, we introduce a novel phase imaging microscopy technique employing a single multimode fiber through frequency domain modulation. Our method demonstrated exceptional capability in high-contrast imaging of diverse samples, including microspheres, semiconductor chips, and oral epithelial cells. Our technique excels in contrast enhancement and defocused background suppression, presenting a promising avenue for minimally invasive, high-contrast, label-free in vivo phase imaging. © 2025 SPIE.

Despite the huge accumulation of scientific literature,it is inefficient and laborious to manually search it for useful information to investigate structure-activity ***,we propose an efficient text-mining framework for the discovery of credible and valuable domain knowledge from abstracts of scientific literature focusing on Nickel-based single crystal ***,the credibility of abstracts is quantified in terms of source timeliness,publication authority and author’s academic ***,eight entity types and domain dictionaries describing Nickel-based single crystal superalloys are predefined to realize the named entity recognition from the abstracts,achieving an accuracy of 85.10%.Thirdly,by formulating 12 naming rules for the alloy brands derived from the recognized entities,we extract the target entities and refine them as domain knowledge through the credibility *** this,we also map out the academic cooperative“Author-Literature-Institute”network,characterize the generations of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys,as well as obtain the fractions of the most important chemical elements in *** extracted rich and diverse knowledge of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys provides important insights toward understanding the structure-activity relationships for Nickel-based single crystal superalloys and is expected to accelerate the design and discovery of novel superalloys.

With the deep integration of cyber tools, control algorithms are increasingly employed in cyber-physical energy systems to enhance management, cost efficiency, and robustness. Effective demand load management is crucial in cyber-physical energy systems as it directly impacts operational costs. Failure to adequately manage spiky or seasonal demand loads can lead to significant expenses on monthly utility bills. In this study, we propose AMPAMOD, a randomized online algorithm with machine-learned advice, to optimize battery operations and mitigate highly dynamic peak loads. AMPAMOD utilizes limited advice from machine learning algorithms to guide our online algorithm and ensure cost-effective peak load management. The theoretical analysis shows that our solution has minimal advice complexity, a linear computational cost, and an improved competitive ratio. Finally, we conduct extensive trace-driven experiments on real-world datasets. AMPAMOD achieves a peak shaving success rate of over 90%, outperforming baselines by at least 50%. These experimental results confirm theoretical findings and demonstrate the potential of AMPAMOD. © 2023 IEEE.

We study the effect of waveguide thickness variations on the frequency spectrum of spontaneous parametric downconversion in the periodically-poled lithium niobate on insulator(LNOI)*** analyze several variation models and our simulation results show that thickness variations in several nanometers can induce distinct effects on the central peak of the spectrum,such as narrowing,broadening,and *** also prove that the effects of positive and negative variations can be canceled and thus lead to a variation-robust feature and an ultra-broad *** study may promote the development of on-chip photon sources in the LNOI platform,as well as opens up a way to engineer photon frequency state.

With the advent of Industry 4.0,water treatment systems(WTSs)are recognized as typical industrial cyber-physical systems(iCPSs)that are connected to the open *** information technology(IT)benefits the WTS in the aspects of reliability,efficiency,and ***,the vulnerabilities exposed in the communication and control infrastructure on the cyber side make WTSs prone to cyber *** traditional IT system oriented defense mechanisms cannot be directly applied in safety-critical WTSs because the availability and real-time requirements are of great *** this paper,we propose an entropy-based intrusion detection(EBID)method to thwart cyber attacks against widely used controllers(e.g.,programmable logic controllers)in WTSs to address this *** of the varied WTS operating conditions,there is a high false-positive rate with a static threshold for ***,we propose a dynamic threshold adjustment mechanism to improve the performance of *** validate the performance of the proposed approaches,we built a high-fidelity WTS testbed with more than 50 measurement *** conducted experiments under two attack scenarios with a total of 36attacks,showing that the proposed methods achieved a detection rate of 97.22%and a false alarm rate of 1.67%.

Optical neural networks(ONNs)offer a promising solution for high-performance,energy-efficient artificial intelligence hardware by leveraging the parallelism and speed of ***,the large-scale implementation of ONNs remains challenging due to the bulky footprint and complex control of optical *** this work,we propose and simulate a plasmonic polarized synaptic architecture that overcomes the diffraction limit and enables ultra-compact *** tuning the polarization state of incident light,the optical transmittance through each plasmonic unit can be dynamically adjusted to represent a synaptic *** plasmonic structures,with features as small as 40 nm,operate well below this limit in the visible spectrum(400-750 nm).Compared with diffraction and interference-based circuit designs,our proposed method achieves a substantial reduction in synaptic density by factors of 150000-fold and 1500-fold,***,we successfully demonstrate a proof-of-concept plasmonic ONN applied to the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research—10 classes(CIFAR-10)dataset using a Visual Geometry Group network with 16 layers(VGG16)*** training for 80 epochs,the network achieves an accuracy of 93%.The polarization-tunable plasmonics paves the way towards scalable ONNs for next-generation artificial intelligence(AI)accelerators and smart sensors.
