摘      要：A low cost rate control scheme is presented to achieve an open-loop rare control for JPEG-LS near lossless coding mode, the forthcoming new standard for lossless image compression. The scheme is implemented by further exploitation of the local texture analysis, designed in JPEG-LS, to indicate the compressibility indirectly. Hence, the information loss level may be controlled automatically and can be adaptive to the local texture. Consequently, a similar compression ratio is maintained for different images.
