摘      要:Quadtree partitions are often used in fractal image compression to achieve variable bit rates. The authors present an entropy based split decision function that can improve image quality and speed up the encoding process. Furthermore, other widespread split decision functions are discussed, along with the advantages offered by adaptive thresholds.
