0 a.inetoba.ter ba.ma.nii (a. ba.ma.nii) is one of the most common Gra.-nega.ive pa.hogens tha. represent a.ma.or threa. to huma. life. Beca.se the preva.ence of Multidrug-resista.t biofilm-forming a. ba.ma.nii is increa.ing a.l over the world, this ma. lea. to outbrea.s of hospita. infections. Nonetheless, the role of ra. mea. a. a.reservoir for a. ba.ma.nii rema.ns unclea.. Here our resea.ch wa. a.med to exhibit the frequency, precise identifica.ion, a.d genotyping of biofilm-rela.ed genes a. well a. a.timicrobia. resista.ce of a. ba.ma.nii isola.es of ra. mea. specimens. Fifty-five a. ba.ma.nii stra.ns were recovered from 220 specimens of different a.ima. mea. a.d then identified by Peptide Ma.s Fingerprinting Technique (PMFT). a.l identified isola.es were genotyped by the qPCR method for the existence of biofilm-rela.ed genes (ompa. ba., bla.ER-1, csuE, csga. a.d fimH). In a.dition, the a.timicrobia. resista.ce a.a.nst a. ba.ma.nii wa. detected by the Kirby-Ba.er method. Ba.ed on our findings, the frequency ra.e of 55 a. ba.ma.nii isola.es wa. 46.55%, 32.50%, 15.00%, a.d 9.68% of sheep, chicken, cow, a.d ca.el ra. mea. sa.ples, respectively. The PMFT wa. a.le to identify a.l stra.ns by 100%. the percenta.es of csuE, ompa. bla.ER-1, ba., a.d csga.genes in biofilm a.d non-biofilm producer a. ba.ma.nii were 72.73%, 60%, 58.2%, 52.74%, a.d 25.45%, respectively. In contra.t, the fimH wa. not detected in a.l non-biofilm a.d biofilm producer stra.ns. The ompa. ba., bla.ER-1, csga.were detected only in biofilm-producing a. ba.ma.nii isola.es. The ma.imum degree of resista.ce wa. observed a.a.nst a.oxicillin/cla.ula.ic a.id (89.10%), genta.icin (74.55%), tetra.ycline (72.73%), a.picillin (65.45%), a.d tobra.ycin (52.73%). In conclusion, our investiga.ion demonstra.ed the high incidence of multi-drug resista.t a. ba.ma.nii in ra. mea. sa.ples, with a.high existence of biofilm-rela.ed virulence genes of ompa. ba., bla.ER-1, csga. Therma. performa.ce is expressed in terms of overa.l hea. tra.sfer coefficient (U), effectiveness (epsilon), a.d number of tra.sfer unit (NTU), while hydra.lic a.d thermodyna.ic performa.ces a.e expressed in tube-side pressure drop a.d exergy efficiency, respectively. The tube side flow ra.e of hot wa.er va.ies from (13-18) LPM while a.consta.t flow ra.e of cold wa.er on the shell side (i.e. 18 LPM) is considered. The experiments a.e performed for two configura.ions of wired-na.ls circula.-cut rod inserts with different numbers of na.ls, va.ied spa.e between them, a.d five different configura.ions of insert distribution in tubes. a.so pressure drop is mea.ured a.d exergy a.a.ysis is performed. a.l da.a.obta.ned is compa.ed with the conventiona. pla.n tube hea. excha.ger. There is limited da.a.from a.a.ic-spea.ing countries on risk fa.tors for depression a.d a.xiety during the COVID-19 pa.demic. Country-specific da.a.is necessa.y given differences in culture, demogra.hics, a.d COVID-19 infection a.d morta.ity ra.es. The ma.n purpose of the study is to identify the fa.tors a.socia.ed with symptoms of depression-a.xiety in the a.ult popula.ion of Qa.a. during the first yea. of the COVID-19 pa.demic. We conducted a.cross-sectiona. online survey in Qa.a. between July a.d December 2020 a.ter Qa.a.'s first COVID-19 wa.e a.d before the beginning of the second wa.e. Depression-a.xiety wa. defined a. a.cut-off of 20 or higher on the Pa.ient Hea.th Questionna.re-a.xiety Depression Sca.e (PHQ-a.S). Of 1138 pa.ticipa.ts, 71.0% were fema.e, 69.0% a.a.s, 70.0% Non-Qa.a.is, a.d 77.0% were < 40 yea.s (the media. a.e in Qa.a. is 32 yea.s). In a.fully-a.justed model, six va.ia.les were significa.tly a.socia.ed with modera.e-to-severe levels of depression or a.xiety on the PHQ-a.S;a.a. ethnicity (OR = 1.67, p = 0.026), never ma.ried versus ma.ried (OR = 1.69, p = 0.015), prior history of psychia.ric disorder versus no history (OR = 1.80, p = 0.009), increa.ed worries due to socia. media.use for COVID-rela.ed news/upda.es (OR = 1.72, p = 0.003), a.history of COVID-19 (OR = 1.76, p = 0.039), loneliness (OR = 1.91, p < 0.001), a.d lower levels of religiosity (OR = 0.96, p = 0.039). These a.socia.ions a.so perta.ned in the reduced model, with the exception of religiosity which wa. only ma.gina.ly sta.istica.ly significa.t (OR = 0.97, p = 0.055). The potentia. risk fa.tors identified ma. a.sist with a.xiety a.d depression prevention in future COVID-19 wa.es, a.d simila. na.iona. events, a.d a.sist with ea.ly intervention to trea. sufferers.

Synthesized 3-benzyl(phenethyl)benzo[g]quina.olines (1-17) were eva.ua.ed in vitro to determine their effects a.a.nst the a.ti-hepa.itis a.virus (Ha.) using a.cytopa.hic effect inhibition a.sa.. Of the synthesized compounds, 16 a.d 17 showed considera.ly high a.ti-Ha. a.tivity, a. indica.ed by their EC50 va.ues of 27.59 a.d 18 mu M, respectively, when compa.ed to tha. of a.a.ta.ine (37.3 mu M), the sta.da.d thera.eutic a.ent. In a.dition, they exhibited low cytotoxicity a. indica.ed by their CC50 va.ues, 290.63 a.d 569.45 mu M, respectively. Compounds 1, 2, a.d 5 exhibited rema.ka.le a.tivity compa.ed to the a.tive compounds (16, 17) a.d a.a.ta.ine. The selectivity index (SI) va.ues were ca.cula.ed a.d a.plied a. a.pa.a.eter for cla.sifying the a.tivity of the ta.gets. Ba.kground: High sensitivity C-rea.tive protein (hsCRP) predicts myoca.dia. dysfunction a.ter a.ute corona.y syndromes. We a.med to study the a.socia.ion of hsCRP estima.ion a. first a.ute myoca.dia. infa.ction (a.I) with myoca.dia. dysfunction a.d hea.t fa.lure. Methods: This resea.ch wa. ca.ried out a. the Depa.tment of Physiology a.d Depa.tment of Emergency Medicine, King Kha.id University Hospita., King Sa.d University, Riya.h, Sa.di a.a.ia. In this prospective study, 227 pa.ients were studied. hsCRP levels were estima.ed when pa.ients ca.e to the emergency depa.tment a. a.I, 7 da.s post a.I, a.d a. 12 weeks of follow up a.ter a.I. The outcome wa. cha.ge in myoca.dia. functions, especia.ly hea.t fa.lure, 12 months a.ter the a.ta.k. Results: Ba.ed on a.cutoff mea. va.ue of hsCRP levels a. a.mission (10.05 +/- 12.68 mg/L), pa.ients were grouped into high a.d low C-rea.tive protein (CRP.) The ejection fra.tion wa. significa.tly lower a. follow up in the high CRP group (37.29 +/- 12.97) compa.ed to the low CRP group (43.85 +/- 11.77, p<0.0198). hsCRP ha. significa.t inverse correla.ion with left ventricula. ejection fra.tion (r=-0.283, p<0.01). a.out 38.1% pa.ients showed hea.t fa.lure, with 23.6% in the high CRP group a.d 14.5% in the low CRP group (OR 2.4, p=0.028). Receiver opera.ing cha.a.teristic curve a.a.ysis showed tha. CRP levels a. a.I ha. a.specificity of 79% a.d sensitivity of 83% to predict hea.t fa.lure. Conclusion: a.high hsCRP level mea.ured a. first a.I predicts myoca.dia. dysfunction a.d hea.t fa.lure. It is suggested tha. hsCRP pla.s a. importa.t role in the development of hea.t fa.lure a.ter myoca.dia. infa.ction.

The efficiency of ga. remova. using hollow fiber membra.e (HFM) conta.tors a.d liquid solvents is determined by severa. fa.tors. The liquid film resista.ce ha. been identified a. one of the importa.t fa.tors a.fecting the overa.l ma.s tra.sfer coefficient. The present work describes the use of spherica. gla.s bea.s a. a.ditiona. pa.king in the shell (solvent) side to a.t a. solid ba.fles which should impa.t stirring effect in the flowing solvent a.d increa.e its velocity. These two effects should decrea.e the liquid film resista.ce a.d consequently enha.ce the ga. remova. efficiency. Two types of custom-ma.e hollow fiber membra.e conta.tors (HFMC) were constructed from thick-wa.led a.rylic tube (20 mm ID, OD 30 mm) a.d equipped with the commercia.ly a.a.la.le poly(tetra.luoroethylene-co-perfluorina.ed a.kyl vinyl ether) (PFa. hollow fibers. In one type of the conta.tors, gla.s bea.s were introduced in the shell side. The two types of conta.tors (with a.d without bea.s) were tested a.d compa.ed in terms of CO2 remova. efficiency from ga. mixtures (5% CO2 - 95% CH4) using a.ueous sodium hydroxide a.d severa. a.ine solutions. Different pa.a.eters were studied to eva.ua.e the performa.ce of the membra.e conta.tors a. feed ga. pressures up to 25 ba.s. The obta.ned results indica.ed a. increa.e of up to 21% enha.cement in CO2 remova. efficiency when the shell compa.tment wa. pa.ked with the gla.s bea.s. The results obta.ned from the overa.l ma.s tra.sfer coefficient model showed good a.reement with those of the experimenta. da.a.

Previously, a.series of 2-phenoxy-benzo[g]tria.oloquina.olines 1-16 were synthesized a.d fully cha.a.terized. The a.tioxida.t a.tivity of the ta.get molecules 1-16 wa. eva.ua.ed using three different a.sa.s na.ely 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydra.yl (DPPH) ra.ica. sca.enging, ferric reduction a.tioxida.t power (FRa.) a.d reducing power ca.a.ility (RPC). The results revea.ed tha. some benzotria.oloquina.olines showed good a.tivity a.d ha.e the ca.a.ity to sca.enge free ra.ica.s. In pa.ticula., compounds 1 a.d 14 ha.e shown the highest a.tivity. The butyla.ed hydroxyl toluene (BHT) used a. sta.da.d a.ent. Density functiona. theory wa. ca.ried out to expla.n the rela.ive importa.ce of C=O, C=S a.d NH groups on the ra.ica. sca.enging a.tivity of the ta.get benzotria.oloquina.olines. New dia.yl-substituted pyridine, pyrimidine, pyra.ole, a.d isoxa.ole deriva.ives bea.ing biphenyl-4-yl a.d 4-(dimethyla.ino)phenyl substituents ha.e been prepa.ed by the rea.tion of 1-(1,1 '-biphenyl-4-yl)-3-[4-(dimethyla.ino)phenyl]prop-2-en-1-one with different nitrogen nucleophiles such a. urea. thiourea. gua.idine hydrochloride, semica.ba.ide hydrochloride, thiosemica.ba.ide, a.d hydroxyla.ine hydrochloride. Nicotinonitrile deriva.ive ha. been synthesized by one-pot rea.tion of 4-a.etylbiphenyl, 4-(dimethyla.ino)benza.dehyde, a.d ma.ononitrile in the presence of a.monium a.eta.e under microwa.e irra.ia.ion, a.d subsequent trea.ment with hydra.ine hydra.e ga.e 4,6-dia.yl-1H-pyra.olo[3,4-b]pyridin-3-a.ine. The beha.ior of 4,6-dia.ylpyrimidin-2-a.ine towa.d ca.bon electrophiles ha. been investiga.ed by rea.ting it with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride, a.etyl chloride, ethyl a.etoa.eta.e, ethyl cya.oa.eta.e, a.d nitrous a.id to a.ford the corresponding N-substituted deriva.ives. 3,5-Dia.yl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyra.ole-1-ca.boxa.ide rea.ted with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride a.d phenylhydra.ine to produceN-tosyl ca.boxa.ide a.d ca.bohydra.ona.ide deriva.ives, respectively. Trea.ment of a.a.ogous pyra.ole-1-ca.bothioa.ide with phenyl isothiocya.a.e, p-toluenesulfonyl chloride, a.d chloroa.etyl chloride a.fordedN-(phenylca.ba.othioyl), N-tosyl, a.d a.inoa.eta.ide deriva.ives, respectively. a.l the synthesized compounds were cha.a.terized by(1)H NMR, IR, a.d ma.s spectra.a.d elementa. a.a.yses. Some of the newly synthesized compounds were eva.ua.ed for theirin vitro cytotoxic a.tivity a.a.nst HePG-2 a.d MCF-7 cell lines. 4-(1,1 '-Biphenyl-4-yl)-6-[4-(dimethyla.ino)phenyl]-5,6-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-thione a.d 4-[5-(1,1 '-biphenyl-4-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxa.ol-3-yl]-N,N-dimethyla.iline displa.ed a.promising growth inhibitory effect towa.d the two cell lines in compa.ison with the sta.da.d drug doxorubicin.
