The Tongbai orogen in the middle of the Qinling-Tongbai-Dabie-Sulu orogenic belt is one of the most important portions for understanding the tectonic framework and evolution between the Sino-Korean and Yangtze cratons. In this paper, we report new U-Pb and 40Ar/39Ar age data from the Tongbai complex in order to constrain the extensional processes and late exhumation of HP/UHP terranes. Zircon U-Pb dating of different rock types in the Tongbai complex reveals the intrusion of volumino is granitic magmas at 139 +/- 2 Ma, contact metamorphism and migmatization of the Triassic metamorphic enclaves at 136 +/- 2 Ma, and syn-deformational emplacement of pegmatite veins at 131 +/- 1 Ma. 40Ar/39Ar thermochronology on hornblende, muscovite and biotite coupled with available structural data indicates two episodes of deformation (cooling) at ca.135-120 Ma and ca. 100-90 Ma. The predominant ductile shearing structures, including regional subhorizontal NWW-SEE stretching lineations in the whole Tongbai complex and sinistral and dextral shear senses along its northern and southern boundaries, were formed during the first deformational episode. Regionally, the Cretaceous magmatism, metamorphism, migmatization, deformation and cooling processes in the Tongbai complex are comparable with those in the Dabie-Sulu region, suggesting the evolution of the Tongbai-Dabie-Sulu orogen within the same extensional tectonic regime during this time. The Cretaceous extensional event is thought to have resulted in the lateral eastward extrusion of the Tongbai-Dabie terrene and exhumation and final exposure of the HP/UHP rocks from mid-upper crustal depths. Lactobacillus casei AST18 was screened as an antifungal lactic acid bacteria which we have reported before. In this research, the antifungal properties of cell-free culture filtrate (CCF) from L. casei AST18 were detected, and the antifungal compounds of CCF were prepared by ultrafiltration, and semi-preparative HPLC, and then determined by GC-MS. CCF was sensitive to pH and heat treatment but it was not affected by the treatment of trypsin and pepsin. Through the treatment of ultrafiltration and semi-preparative HPLC there were two parts of CCF which showed antifungal activities: part 1 and part 4. Lactic acid was identified as the main antifungal compound in part 1. In part 4, three small molecular substances were detected with GC-MS. The three potential antifungal substances were cyclo-(Leu-Pro), 2,6-diphenyl-piperidine, and 5,10-diethoxy-2,3,7,8-tetrahydro-1H,6H-dipyrrolo[1,2-a;1',2'-d]pyrazine. The antifungal activity of L. casei AST18 was a synergistic effect of lactic acid and cyclopeptides.

Theories of wetting of liquids on solid surfaces under the condition that van der Waals force is dominant are briefly reviewed. We show theoretically that Zisman's empirical equation for wetting of liquids on solid surfaces is a linear approximation of the Young-van der Waals equation in the wetting region, and we express the two parameters in Zisman's empirical equation in terms of the dielectric polarizabilities of the solid and liquids. The materials contained in this paper are suitable for physics teaching of wetting phenomena for undergraduate, graduate, general physicist, etc.
