This paper is composed of three elements: 3d modeling, web design, and heritage visualization. The aim is to use computergraphicsdesign to inform and create an interest in historical visualization by rebuilding Fort Frontenac using 3d modeling and interactive design. The final model will be integrated into an interactive website to learn more about the fort's historic imp ortance. It is apparent that using computergraphics can save time and money when it comes to historical visualization. Visitors do not have to travel to the actual archaeological buildings. They can simply use the Web in their own home to learn about this information virtually. Meticulously following historical records to create a sophisticated restoration of archaeological buildings will draw viewers into visualizations, such as the historical world of Fort Frontenac. As a result, it allows the viewers to effectively understand the fort's social system, habits, and historical events.

This paper proposes a method of interactive virtual camera control in 3d character animation authoring. This method allows a novice user to interactively create a 3d character animation by recommending appropriate distance and orientation for a virtual camera based on the Grammar of the Film Language. We conducted an experimental evaluation in which 18 university students created3d character animations using the digital Movie director (dMd) system with this method. The results showed improvement in the efficiency of setting the virtual camera, as well as in overall creation efficiency. Time spent writing dialogue increased, suggesting more time was available for creative thinking. The value of recall and precision were 0.77 and 0.84, respectively, for users who employed virtual camera settings covered by the method. Moreover, the ratio of shots that violated the Grammar decreased.

We propose a fast calculation method to synthesize a computer-generated hologram (CGH) of realistic deep threedimensional (3d) scene. In our previous study, we have proposed a calculation method of CGH for reproducing such scene called ray-sampling-plane (RSP) method, in which light-ray information of a scene is converted to wavefront, and the wavefront is numerically propagated based on diffraction theory. In this paper, we introduce orthographic projection to the RSP method for accelerating calculation time. By numerical experiments, we verified the accelerated calculation with the ratio of 28-times compared to the conventional RSP method. The calculated CGH was fabricated by the printing system using laser lithography anddemonstrateddeep 3d image reconstruction in 52mmx52mm with realistic appearance effect such as gloss and translucent effect.

We propose an electronic paper craft modeling system useful for fostering the basic geometric skill. The proposed system enables users to easily observe and manipulate regular polyhedron, the basic geometrical shapes found in various natural phenomena. 3d manipulations supported by the system give the users a feeling as if they are working with real paper craft model. Then, the system allows the user for gradually improving their skills for structurally analyzing the 3d virtual models. In this paper the current state of development of vMannequin, a dynamic, user mimicking, user enacted virtual mannequin software solution, is presented. In order to allow users designing dress concepts, the application simulate the creation and fitting of clothes on virtual models. The interaction is sensor based, in order to both simplify the user interface, and create a richer involvement inside the application.
