This paper presents the way of identifying the influence of the tolerance of model pumps (TYPE 3PWR-SE) construction on the total efficiency. The identification of sensitive control dimensions (Value / Tolerance) of examined pumps has been made by means of the multi-valuedlogic and inductive decision trees. In order to confirm the obtained results, multiple-valuedlogic trees have been used in the paper according to algorithms for the minimization of individual logicfunctions. What is more, a specific monotonicity of values of the most key parameters has been determined for the investigated set of pumps having individual specification numbers.

As ExOR (Exclusive-OR) expansions of binary output functions, the ESOP (EXOR Sum of Products) form and its extension, the ESCT (EXOR Sum of Complex Terms) form, have been studied extensively in the literature. An efficient algorithm for minimizing ESOP forms is known for two-variable multiple-valued input functions. On the other hand, no ESCT minimization algorithm is known for such functions. In this paper, we give an efficient algorithm for minimizing ESCT forms of two-variable multiple-valued input functions, showing that the number of terms can be reduced by at most one. The choice of exploitation parameters for a given pump construction decides about its maximum efficiency. It is possible to adopt a mono-criterion or a multi-criteria approach in order to optimize the pump efficiency. The optimization process requires calculating volumetric efficiency, hydraulic and mechanical efficiency and total efficiency. The application of discrete optimization logical methods to analyze the degree of importance of construction and/or exploitation parameters of a gear pump after tooth root undercutting is presented in this study. The goal of this thesis is the development of a programmable logic array (PLA) that accepts multiple-valued inputs and produces multiplevalued outputs. The PLA is implemented in CMOS and multiple levels are encoded as current. It is programmed by choosing transistor geometries which control the current level at which the PLA reacts to inputs. An example of a 4-valued PLA is shown. As part of this research, a C program was written that produces a PLA layout.
