Modulation, an important component in network-based control system, has the detrimental effect on the system performance in some context. In the paper, first, it is shown that the modulation can result in time delay existing not only between sensor and controller, but also between controller and actuator. Then, system stability is analysed, and a robust H-infinity resilient controller restraining controller gain perturbance is designed based on the LMI scheme. Finally, a numerical simulation is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed controller.

Advent of new communication technologies made it possible to replace point-to-point control structures with networked systems as a breakthrough toward Industry 4.0. However, overcoming communication imperfections is still a major issue. In this paper, a group of network-based cascade controlsystems is investigated in which, network communication is considered within the controller-actuator channel. In order to reduce conservatism and increase robustness of the controlsystem, time-varying delay and packet dropouts are considered as separate terms using an augmented continuous-time state-space model. based on Lyapunov theorem, the H-infinity stability conditions are attained dealing with external disturbances. An identified linear model for an industrial gas turbine unit is employed for performance assessment of the designed controllers. Obtained results confirm capability of the proposed method to achieve larger gain margins and more robustness against uncertain delays and data loss.

Time synchronization is an important function for networked controlsystems. At present, most of the time synchronization methods are based on proportional-integral controllers. These methods rely on the time offset calculated by the sampling data and are, therefore, vulnerable to sampling noise. This study introduces a stochastic search method and proposes a novel time synchronization method with antinoise ability, especially pulse noise. In this article, mathematical models of the proposed method are given, and its behavior is analyzed through simulation. The performance of the proposed method is verified by a comparative experiment, and the experiment results show that the proposed method has a faster convergence speed and better accuracy in a switched networked controlsystem.

The consensus problem of network-based heterogeneous multi-agent systems considering communication network induced time delays is evaluated in this paper. In this regard, two efficient adaptive event-triggered based approaches are developed for multi-agent systems featuring communication network delays. Moreover, an event-triggered interval is considered as a specific delay and considered into the unified round trip time (RTT) delay. Subsequently, an efficient optimal predictive-based coordination control scheme is proposed to compensate the non-ideal behaviour of communication channels with induced delays and realize the coordination control among the agents. Furthermore, some sufficient and necessary conditions are derived for the system stability as well as the state consensus. To evaluate and verify the feasibility and capability of the suggested approach it is reflected on a network-based i multi-agent system with coupled subsystems. The obtained simulation results confirm the useability and efficiency of the developed approach to enhance the performance of the network-based multiagent systems featuring non-ideal communication channels. This paper proposes a robust output feedback-basedcontroller for a class of uncertain linear network-based control systems. This method ensures the stability, robustness and an output regulation against the modelling uncertainties and communication network negative effects. In this way, a switching sliding surface is proposed and designed using a switched quadratic Lyapunov functional, by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. A method is then proposed to reach the quasi-sliding mode and stay thereafter. Simulation studies on four benchmark problems show the effectiveness of the proposed method with respect to the model uncertainties and also band-limited communication network deficiencies.

This paper studies the finite-time stability analysis of uncertain network-based control systems under random data packet dropout and varying network delay. The system considered as an uncertain discrete-time stochastic system benefits from Bernoulli distributed white sequence technique for modeling the packet dropout. Sufficient conditions by means of a state feedback controller are derived to suppress the inherent effects of data packet dropout and network delay simultaneously. Simulations are provided to illustrate the feasibility and applicability of the control algorithm proposed in this paper.

The distributed fuzzy H-infinity filtering problems constitute addressed for a class of nonlinear multirate networked industrial processes in this paper. The nonlinear industrial plants are described by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models, while the distributed sensor measurements are subject to network-induced delays, stochastic disturbances, and packet dropouts. The sensors of different sampling rates are divided into two groups with different network topologies, and the corresponding filters are designed based on the T-S modeling technique. The major aim is to guarantee the filtering error system to be stochastically stable with a prescribed H-infinity performance index by designing proper filter gains. Finally, the simulation studies of continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) system in networked double-layer architecture further demonstrate the proposed strategy.

In this paper, the filtering problem is studied for a class of networked multirate nonlinear systems, where not only the network-induced delays but also the packet dropouts are considered. The objective is to design the corresponding filter to guarantee that the estimation errors under the effect of stochastic disturbance are bounded. The filter is designed via the idea that the associated multirate nonlinear system can be expressed as the nonlinear system with mixed delays. Finally, the simulation study of continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) system in double-layer architecture further demonstrates the proposed method.
