Large scale atomistic simulations provide direct access to important materials phenomena not easily accessible to experiments or quantum mechanics-based calculation *** and efficient interatomic potentials are the key enabler,but their development remains a challenge for complex materials and/or complex *** learning potentials,such as the Deep Potential(DP)approach,provide robust means to produce general purpose interatomic ***,we provide a methodology for specialising machine learning potentials for high fidelity simulations of complex phenomena,where general potentials do not *** an example,we specialise a general purpose DP method to describe the mechanical response of two allotropes of titanium(in addition to other defect,thermodynamic and structural properties).The resulting DP correctly captures the structures,energies,elastic constants andγ-lines of Ti in both the HCP and BCC structures,as well as properties such as dislocation core structures,vacancy formation energies,phase transition temperatures,and thermal *** DP thus enables direct atomistic modelling of plastic and fracture behaviour of *** approach to specialising DP interatomic potential,DPspecX,for accurate reproduction of properties of interest“X”,is general and extensible to other systems and properties.

Peritoneal metastasis occurs when cancer cells spread from the primary tumor to the peritoneum, leading to morphological alterations that significantly impact patient survival. The specific changes across multiple peritoneal sites can effectively indicate a patient's risk level and prognosis. However, the considerable variation in peritoneal shape, size, and location poses significant challenges for feature extraction and prognostic analysis. Traditional multi-instance learning approaches typically fuse instance features extracted by the backbone network at the final stage, but their lack of intermediate interaction limits the ability to capture both common and distinct features. To address this limitation, we propose a Multi-Stage BiDirectional Cross-Attention framework (MSBDCA). Our approach enhances feature extraction and prognostic analysis by facilitating interaction among different peritoneal instances and incorporating clinical information. Experimental comparisons with five baseline models demonstrate our method's superiority, achieving improvements of 8.7% in Area Under Curve (AUC) and 5.9% in Concordance Index (C_index). These results suggest a promising direction for survival and prognostic analysis using peritoneal lesions. Our code is available at https://***/HaoshenLi/MSBDCA.

Toward the realization of quantum information processing (QIP), continuous-variable (CV) system is a promising candidate, where scalable quantum information processors are already demonstrated [1]. The next milestone is the demonstration of universality and fault-tolerance on these processors by injecting highly non-classical quantum states, non-Gaussian states (NGSs), with a proper temporal waveform [2]. NGSs are very fragile to optical losses, however, and engineering temporal waveform of NGSs is a quite nontrivial task that requires completely different methodology from conventional optical wave shaping. © 2023 IEEE.

AI-Enhanced Child Handwriting Analysis: A Framework for the Early Screening of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia

Dyslexia and dysgraphia are two specific learning disabilities (SLDs) that are prevalent among children. To minimize the negative impact these SLDs have on a child’s academic and social-emotional development, it is crucial to identify dyslexia and dysgraphia at an early age, enabling timely and effective intervention. The first step in this process is screening, which helps determine if a child requires further instruction or a more in-depth assessment. Current screening tools are expensive, require additional administration time beyond regular classroom activities, and are designed to screen exclusively for one condition, not for both dyslexia and dysgraphia, which often share some common behavioral characteristics. Most dyslexia screeners focus on speech and oral tasks and exclude writing activities. However, analyzing children’s writing samples for behavioral signs of dyslexia and dysgraphia can offer valuable insights into the screening process, which can be time-consuming. As a solution, we propose a co-designed framework for building artificial intelligence (AI) tools that could boost the efficiency of screening and aid practitioners such as speech-language pathologists (SLPs), occupational therapists, general educators, and special educators by simplifying their tasks. This paper reviews current screening methods employed by practitioners, the use of AI-based systems in identifying dyslexia and dysgraphia, and the handwriting datasets available to train such systems. The paper also outlines a framework for developing an AI-integrated screening tool that can identify writing-based behavioral indicators of dyslexia and dysgraphia in children’s handwriting. This framework can be used in conjunction with current screening tools like the Dysgraphia and Dyslexia Behavioral Indicator Checklist (DDBIC). We report a significantly enhanced anomalous Hall effect(AHE)of Pt on antiferromagnetic insulator thin film(3-unit-cell La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3),abbreviated as LSMO),which is one order of magnitude larger than that of Pt on other ferromagnetic(e.g.Y_(3)Fe_(5)O_(12))and antiferromagnetic(***_(2)O_(3))insulator thin *** experiments demonstrate that the antiferromagnetic La_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)MnO_(3)with fully compensated surface suppresses the positive anomalous Hall resistivity induced by the magnetic proximity effect and facilitates the negative anomalous Hall resistivity induced by the spin Hall *** changing the substrate’s temperature during Pt deposition,we observed that the diffusion of Mn atoms into Pt layer can further enhance the *** anomalous Hall resistivity increases with increasing temperature and persists even well above the Neel temperature(T_(N))of *** Monte Carlo simulations manifest that the unusual rise of anomalous Hall resistivity above T_(N)originates from the thermal induced magnetization in the antiferromagnetic insulator.

Drug discovery is a crucial part of human healthcare and has dramatically benefited human lifespan and life quality in recent centuries, however, it is usually time-and effort-consuming. Structural biology has been demonstrated as a powerful tool to accelerate drug development. Among different techniques, cryo-electron microscopy(cryo-EM) is emerging as the mainstream of structure determination of biomacromolecules in the past decade and has received increasing attention from the pharmaceutical industry. Although cryo-EM still has limitations in resolution, speed and throughput, a growing number of innovative drugs are being developed with the help of cryo-EM. Here, we aim to provide an overview of how cryo-EM techniques are applied to facilitate drug discovery. The development and typical workflow of cryo-EM technique will be briefly introduced, followed by its specific applications in structure-based drug design, fragment-based drug discovery, proteolysis targeting chimeras, antibody drug development and drug repurposing. Besides cryo-EM, drug discovery innovation usually involves other state-of-the-art techniques such as artificial intelligence(AI), which is increasingly active in diverse areas. The combination of cryo-EM and AI provides an opportunity to minimize limitations of cryo-EM such as automation, throughput and interpretation of mediumresolution maps, and tends to be the new direction of future development of cryo-EM. The rapid development of cryo-EM will make it as an indispensable part of modern drug discovery.

The logistic map with optimization with a novel Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) sequence operation-based novel image encryption scheme is generated. The best mask is obtained by enhancing the excellence of DNA which is the significant advantage of this approach. According to the image decryption and encryption process, correct errors and the similarity of DNA sequences are decreased by the DNA cryptogram becoming an input pace for DNA calculation. The maximum PSNR of encrypted images is obtained by the logistic map function to improve the performance of image security Ant Lion optimization (ALO). The image encryption and decryption process generate optima point DNA sequence rules. DNA coding: utilizing the complementary rule, each nucleotide is then changed into its base pair for a random time or times; the times are produced by Chebyshev maps. The experimental investigations provided better UACI, Number of Pixel Exchange Rate (NPCR), and Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR). This strategy is significant because it increases entropy, which is the fundamental property of randomness, withstands multiple statistical and differential attacks, and produces positive experimental outcomes.

Dimensionality reduction (DR) has been an integral part of exploratory data analysis and feature selection in a multitude of machine learning applications. In particular, it has shown to be useful in multi-parameter photonics design problems where the objective function landscape offers a range of optimized designs. This talk will cover several recent advances in the methodology as well new design applications. Progress on sampling from data-efficient non-linear DR techniques will be presented, along with a method to reduce the computational load of data collection incurred by high fidelity solvers. New design problems in integrated silicon photonics as well as multijunction photonic power converters will be presented as the study cases.

This page outlines the classes of diesel fire pumps, batteries, and pumping systems, besides the elements prompting fire rendition. Onsite diesel generator pump must be connected to a hydrant and the water pumping pressure range must be customized to 8 bar using a pressure gauge. The substantive intent of this concert is to reinforce firefighter safety. Only experienced technicians and training professionals in fire guard are responsible for this part. To simulate the battery tightness position, an extra-critical condition has been considered. Owing to the position of the fire safety properties and battery reaction in buildings, the Firefly and Particle Swarm optimization algorithms have been exerted on the iterations with objective values used for analysis in the iterative process using Matlab 2021 software. Two well-known algorithms are compared to see which provides the best results. The ANN serves as a tool for analyzing and optimizing the pump’s rendition in maintaining an adequate water supply for fire emergencies.
