Regulation of histidine metabolism by Lactobacillus Reuteri mediates the pathogenesis and treatment of ischemic stroke

Increasing evidence has underscored the significance of post-stroke alterations along gutebrain axis,while its role in pathogenesis and treatment of ischemic stroke(IS)remains largely *** study aimed to elucidate the therapeutic effects and action targets of Panax notoginseng saponins(PNS)on IS and explore a novel pathogenesis and treatment strategy of IS via profiling the microbial community and metabolic characteristics along gutebrain *** findings revealed for the first time that the therapeutic effect of PNS on IS was ***/reperfusion(I/R)modeling significantly downregulated Lactobacilli in rats,and PNS markedly recovered Lactobacilli,particularly Lactobacillus reuteri(***).Metabolomics showed a significant reduction in serum histidine(HIS)in clinical obsolete IS patients and rehabilitation period I/R ***,the *** colonization in I/R rats exhibited significant neuroprotective activity and greatly increased HIS in serum,gut microbiota,and ***,exogenous HIS demonstrated indirect neuroprotective effects through metabolizing to ***,vagus nerve severance in I/R rats was performed to investigate HIS’s neuroprotective *** results innovatively revealed that PNS could promote HIS synthesis in gut by enhancing *** proportion,thereby increasing intracerebral HIS through peripheral ***,our data provided novel insights into HIS metabolism mediated by *** in the pathogenesis and treatment of IS.

Single-photon sensors are novel devices with extremely high single-photon sensitivity and temporal ***,these advantages also make them highly susceptible to ***,single-photon cameras face severe quantization as low as 1 bit/*** factors make it a daunting task to recover high-quality scene information from noisy single-photon *** current image reconstruction methods for single-photon data are mathematical approaches,which limits information utilization and algorithm *** this work,we propose a hybrid information enhancement model which can significantly enhance the efficiency of information utilization by leveraging attention mechanisms from both spatial and channel ***,we introduce a structural feature enhance module for the FFN of the transformer,which explicitly improves the model's ability to extract and enhance high-frequency structural information through two symmetric convolution ***,we propose a single-photon data simulation pipeline based on RAW images to address the challenge of the lack of single-photon *** results show that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods in various noise levels and exhibits a more efficient capability for recovering high-frequency structures and extracting information.

Performance Evaluation of Subsidiary Weir for Energy Dissipation in the Stilling Basin Using CFD Modelling

This study was aimed at assessing the utility of the subsidiary weir in the post-rehabilitation scenario of Taunsa Barrage Pakistan wherein a 7 ft. high subsidiary weir was constructed at a distance of 920 ft. downstream of the main weir. In addition to the construction of the Subsidiary weir, auxiliary devices were also provided in the stilling basin downstream of the main weir. These devices include chute blocks and dented end sill. CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamics) based software Flow-3D was employed in the current study to numerically model the Taunsa Barrage, Pakistan and simulate the flow scenario. Based on the simulations of these flow scenarios, flow parameters were recorded for each scenario and comparative analysis was carried out to assess the effectiveness of the subsidiary weir. The study concluded that the addition of a subsidiary weir affected the flow parameters (Flow depth, depth-averaged velocity, and Froude number) and the location of the hydraulic jump. Furthermore, the study concluded that the addition of a subsidiary weir resulted in lesser energy dissipation as compared to the energy dissipation observed in the absence of a subsidiary weir. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Shiraz University 2024.

Lead sulfide(PbS)presents large potential in thermoelectric application due to its earth-abundant S ***,its inferior average ZT(ZTave)value makes PbS less competitive with its analogs PbTe and *** promote its thermoelectric performance,this study implements strategies of continuous Se alloying and Cu interstitial doping to synergistically tune thermal and electrical transport properties in n-type ***,the lattice parameter of 5.93Åin PbS is linearly expanded to 6.03Åin PbS_(0.5)Se_(0.5)with increasing Se alloying *** expanded lattice in Se-alloyed PbS not only intensifies phonon scattering but also facilitates the formation of Cu *** on the PbS_(0.6)Se_(0.4)content with the minimal lattice thermal conductivity,Cu interstitials are introduced to improve the electron density,thus boosting the peak power factor,from 3.88μW cm^(−1)K^(−2)in PbS_(0.6)Se_(0.4)to 20.58μW cm^(−1)K^(−2)in PbS0.6Se0.4−1%***,the lattice thermal conductivity in PbS_(0.6)Se_(0.4)−x%Cu(x=0-2)is further suppressed due to the strong strain field caused by Cu ***,with the lowered thermal conductivity and high electrical transport properties,a peak ZT~1.1 and ZTave~0.82 can be achieved in PbS_(0.6)Se_(0.4)−1%Cu at 300–773K,which outperforms previously reported n-type PbS.

Background: Despite considerable advancements in identifying factors contributing to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), the pathogenesis of HCC remains unclear. In many cases, HCC is a consequence of prolonged liver fibrosis, resulting in the formation of an intricate premalignant microenvironment. The accumulation of extracellular matrix(ECM) is a hallmark of premalignant microenvironment. Given the critical role of different matrix components in regulating cell phenotype and function, this study aimed to elucidate the interplay between the fibrotic matrix and malignant features in HCC. Methods: Liver tissues from both control(normal) and carbon tetrachloride(CCl_(4))-induced fibrotic rats were decellularized using sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and Triton X-100. The resulting hydrogel from decellularized ECM was processed into micro-particles via the water-in-oil emulsion method. Microparticles were subsequently incorporated into three-dimensional liver biomimetic micro-tissues(MTs) comprising Huh-7 cells, human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs), and LX-2 cells. The MTs were evaluated using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium(MTS) assay at day 11, immunofluorescence staining, immunoblotting, and spheroid migration assay at day 14 after co-culture. Results: Fibrotic matrix from CCl4-treated rat livers significantly enhanced the growth rate of the MTs and their expression of CCND1 as compared to the normal one. Fibrotic matrix, also induced the expression of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-associated genes such as TWIST1, ACTA2, MMP9, CDH2, and VIMENTIN in the MTs as compared to the normal matrix. Conversely, the expression of CDH1 and hepatic maturation genes HNF4A, ALB, CYP3A4 was decreased in the MTs when the fibrotic matrix was used. Furthermore, the fibrotic matrix increased the migration of the MTs and their secretion of alpha-fetoprotein. Conclusions: Our findings suggest a

Relevant to broad applied fields and natural processes,interfacial ionic hydrates have been widely studied by using ultrahigh-resolution atomic force microscopy(AFM).However,the complex relationship between the AFM signal and the investigated system makes it difficult to determine the atomic structure of such a complex system from AFM images *** machine learning,we achieved precise identification of the atomic structures of interfacial water/ionic hydrates based on AFM images,including the position of each atom and the orientations of water mole ***,it was found that structure prediction of ionic hydrates can be achieved cost-effectively by transfer learning using neural network trained with easily available interfacial water ***,this work provides an efficient and economical methodology that not only opens up avenues to determine atomic structures of more complex systems from AFM images,but may also help to interpret other scientific studies involving sophisticated experimental results.

Objective: The human cluster of differentiation(CD)300A, a type-I transmembrane protein with immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs, was investigated as a potential immune checkpoint for human natural killer(NK) cells targeting hematologic malignancies(HMs).Methods: We implemented a stimulation system involving the CD300A ligand, phosphatidylserine(PS), exposed to the outer surface of malignant cells. Additionally, we utilized CD300A overexpression, a CD300A blocking system, and a xenotransplantation model to evaluate the impact of CD300A on NK cell efficacy against HMs in in vitro and in vivo settings. Furthermore, we explored the association between CD300A and HM progression in ***: Our findings indicated that PS hampers the function of NK cells. Increased CD300A expression inhibited HM lysis by NK cells. CD300A overexpression shortened the survival of HM-xenografted mice by impairing transplanted NK cells. Blocking PS–CD300A signals with antibodies significantly amplified the expression of lysis function-related proteins and effector cytokines in NK cells, thereby augmenting the ability to lyse HMs. Clinically, heightened CD300A expression correlated with shorter survival and an “exhausted” phenotype of intratumoral NK cells in patients with HMs or solid ***: These results propose CD300A as a potential target for invigorating NK cell-based treatments against HMs.

Polymer solar cells(PSCs)with high power conversion efficiency(PCE)and environment-friendly fabrication are the main requirements enabling their production in industrial *** the use of non-halogenated solvent processing is inevitable for the PSC fabrication,it significantly reduces the processability of polymer donors(PDS)and small-molecule acceptors(SMAs).This often results in unoptimized blend morphology and limits the device *** address this issue,hydrophilic oligoethylene glycol(OEG)side-chains are introduced into a PD(2EG)to enhance the molecular compatibility between the PD and L8-BO *** 2EG PD induces higher crystallinity and alleviates phase separation with the SMA compared to the reference PD(PM7)with hydrocarbon ***,the 2EG-based PSCs exhibit a higher PCE(15.8%)than the PM7-based PSCs(PCE=14.4%)in the ortho-xylene based ***,benefitted from the reduced phase separation and increased crystallinity of 2EG PDS,the 2EG-based PSCs show enhanced thermal stability(84%of initial PCE after 120 h heating)compared to that of the PM7-based PSCs(60%of initial PCE after 120 h heating).This study demonstrates the potential of OEG side-chain-incorporated materials in developing efficient,stable,and eco-friendly PSCs.

In this work,AZ31B extruded sheets with mixed-grain microstructures were prepared through *** of mixed-grain microstructure with different morphologies were selected from the AZ31B extruded sheets(referred to as M1 and M2 samples,respectively).The creep tests were performed on these samples at the temperature range of 150-200℃,and the stress level range of 50-100 *** creep properties and fracture behavior of AZ31 extruded sheets with mixed-grain microstructures were *** showed that the creep properties of the M2 sample always outperformed that of the M1 sample and M1 and M2 samples’creep was dominated by dislocation *** creep rate of M2 samples(1.5×10^(-7)±1.1×10^(-10) s^(-1))is an order of magnitude lower than that of M1 samples(4.8×10^(-6)±8.1×10^(-10) s^(-1))at 200℃under 50 MPa The high activity of basal slip and softening mechanism in the M1 sample significantly accelerated creep,resulting in a relatively high creep ***,the stress concentration within the M1 sample caused by deformation incompatibility,increased the initiation and propagation of voids,ultimately leading to fracture and poorer creep ***,the numerous<10µm fine grains surrounding deformed coarse grains in the M2 sample facilitated better coordination of deformation through dislocation slip,effectively slowing down the initiation of voids during the creep ***,the strain was uniformly distributed within each grain,mitigating stress concentration,inhibiting voids propagation,and contributing to the superior creep resistance of the M2 sample.
