Analysis and reaction to natural disasters have made extensive use of deep learning methods using semantic segmentation networks. These implementations’ foundation is based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which are capable of precisely identifying and locating the relevant areas of interest within satellite imagery or other types of remote sensing data. This helps with rescue planning, restoration efforts, and disaster evaluation. Difficulties in the provision of healthcare services, due to natural disasters, are made worse by the existing problems prevalent in most healthcare systems. The aim of this research is to propose a novel technique in climate change–based disaster management with their public healthcare analysis using cloud computing with deep learning techniques. In this research, the cloud network has been used in LiDAR image collection for climate change–based disaster-struck regions and their public healthcare analysis. This collected image has been classified and optimized using a deep Markov Q-transfer adversarial neural network with binary grey whale swarm optimization. Experimental analysis has been carried out for various disaster management–based public healthcare datasets in terms of classification accuracy, specificity, NSE, sensitivity, and F-1 score. The proposed technique attained a classification accuracy of 97%, F-1 score of 94%, specificity of 96%, sensitivity of 95%, and NSE of 57%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The manual analysis of job resumes poses specific challenges, including the time-intensive process and the high likelihood of human error, emphasizing the need for automation in content-based recommendations. Recent advancements in deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for Multi-label Text Classification (MLTC), offer a promising solution for addressing these challenges through artificial intelligence. While CNN is renowned for its robust feature extraction capabilities, it faces specific challenges such as managing high-dimensional data and poor data interpretability. To address these limitations, this study employs the Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix (FDM) feature selection technique to determine the relevance of skills for each job vacancy. FDM assigns weights to the features of each job category and ranks their relevance based on the highest scores, which are then utilized in the MLTC CNN model. The integration of FDM and MLTC CNN serves as the foundation for generating content-based recommendations derived from key features in job resumes. This study produces a content-based job recommendation system that displays the top three job categories, accompanied by explanations of the skills supporting each selected category. These recommendations also consider cosine similarity values between analyzed items and the integrated results of FDM and MLTC CNN. The application of FDM for feature weighting has been proven to enhance multi-label text classification outcomes by providing better insights during the feature selection process. With a recall of 97.26%, precision of 94.81%, and accuracy of 98.58%, the MLTC model integrating FDM feature selection and CNN demonstrates robust performance characteristics in content-based job recommendation tasks. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a prominent contributor to illness and death on a global scale, underscoring the need for precise predictive models to facilitate timely intervention. The present study investigates the utilization of deep learning methodologies, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Long Short-Term Memory networks (LSTM), in the context of predictive modeling of cardiovascular diseases. This study examines the efficacy of three well-known optimization techniques, namely Adam Optimization, RMSprop, and Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), within the framework of these neural network architectures. Among the various models based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) has been identified as the optimizer that produces the most favorable outcomes for predicting CVD. The utilization of this optimization technique demonstrated exceptional efficacy in the training of the deep neural network, resulting in superior levels of accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. On the other hand, it was observed that LSTM-based models exhibited the greatest improvement when utilizing RMSprop optimization. The utilization of RMSprop has been found to have a positive impact on the effectiveness of sequence modeling, resulting in enhanced predictive capabilities for assessing the risk of cardiovascular disease. The efficacy of this technique was demonstrated in its ability to capture temporal dependencies within the dataset, consequently enhancing the predictive capability of the model. The results of this study emphasize the importance of carefully choosing neural network architectures and optimization techniques when constructing predictive models for cardiovascular disease. Customizing the selection of neural network architecture and optimization algorithm according to the unique attributes of the dataset can substantially augment the precision and dependability of CVD risk evaluations. Marine aquaculture image segmentation plays a crucial role in managing aquatic resources and environmental protection. Traditional deep learning models rely on manual parameter tuning for image segmentation, which limits their efficiency and accuracy. This paper proposes an adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to optimize the parameters of the U-net model automatically. The algorithm dynamically adjusts the PSO parameters based on the population’s entropy and clustering metrics and employs a hill-climbing algorithm to address the issue of the PSO easily falling into local optima, enhancing the algorithm’s adaptability. The proposed algorithm updates and iterates particles to automatically find suitable model parameters. The remote sensing data used in this experiment were from the Yellow Sea aquaculture area near Dalian, China, with a segmentation accuracy of 91.8%. This method improves segmentation accuracy, reduces the burden of manual parameter tuning, and provides an effective solution for optimizing deep learning models. © 2025 IEEE.

This research study presents a thorough examination of the application of deep learning techniques in enhancing node position prediction within Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs). As VANETs become increasingly integral to the development of intelligent transportation systems, accurate and efficient node position prediction emerges as a critical component for ensuring optimal network functionality, safety, and traffic management. This paper explores the performance and adaptability of multiple deep learning models in the dynamic and complicated VANET environment, such as Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). We provide a detailed analysis of the existing literature, highlighting the strengths and limitations of different deep learning approaches in handling the high mobility, variable density, and recurrently changing topology of vehicular networks. Furthermore, the survey discusses the integration of contextual information, such as environmental factors and road conditions, into the prediction models, enhancing their accuracy and reliability. We also explore the implications of advanced methodologies like Transfer Learning and Federated Learning in this domain. In addition to providing insights into future research paths, the paper finishes with an assessment of the difficulties encountered in the practical application of these models, including data privacy and computing limits. The goal of this thorough investigation is to provide a roadmap for future developments in node location prediction in VANETs, making it an invaluable tool for scholars and professionals working in the subject of intelligent transportation systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Theoretical studies on the representation power of GNNs have been centered around understanding the equivalence of GNNs, using WL-Tests for detecting graph isomorphism. In this paper, we argue that such equivalence ignores the accompanying optimization issues and does not provide a holistic view of the GNN learning process. We illustrate these gaps between representation and optimization with examples and experiments. We also explore the existence of an implicit inductive bias (e.g. fully connected networks prefer to learn low frequency functions in their input space) in GNNs, in the context of graph classification tasks. We further prove theoretically that the message-passing layers in the graph, have a tendency to search for either discriminative subgraphs, or a collection of discriminative nodes dispersed across the graph, depending on the different global pooling layers used. We empirically verify this bias through experiments over real-world and synthetic datasets. Finally, we show how our work can help in incorporating domain knowledge via attention based architectures, and can evince their capability to discriminate coherent subgraphs. © 2024 The Authors.

The permanent magnet (PM) Vernier machines enhance torque density and decrease cogging torque compared to conventional permanent magnet synchronous motor. This paper presents a novel fractional-slot H-shaped PM Vernier machines, which incorporates unique design for the PM housing and rotor core construction. These designs are specifically optimized for the small-scale electric vehicles application. The choice of the PM arrangement is based on the combination of V-shaped and spoke-array PM topologies. The aim is to achieve a higher torque density than V-shaped PM machines, while reducing cogging torque compared to spoke-array PM machines. By using this methodology, leakage fluxes in the terminal region of the PMs reduce, resulting in an augmentation of both flux-linkage and power factor. A prototype 680 W motor was fabricated with 12 slots and 8 poles to verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed model. Mathematical model and dynamical analysis are proposed for the analytical prediction of machine performance. Due to the unique shape feature of the machine, the conformal mapping approach is applied to design the rotor core. To validate the model, the predicted performance of the motor was compared with those obtained by finite element analysis and experiments. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

In order to classify the Cleveland Heart Disease dataset, this study evaluates the performance of three optimization methods, namely Fruit Fly Optimization (FFO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). The top 10 features are identified using FFO, with remarkable results for accuracy (88.52%), precision (87.88%), recall (90.63%), and f1-score (89.23%). After using PSO, the accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and f1-score are all 85.25%, 87.10%, 84.38%, and 85.71% respectively. Finally, GWO is used, which results in precision, accuracy, recall, and f1-score values of 93.33%, 90.16%, 90.11%, 87.5%, and 90.32% respectively, highlighting its consistent superior performance. FFO shows competitive outcomes with notable accuracy and recall through a comparative examination. PSO displays comparable precision and recall while displaying a somewhat poorer accuracy. In contrast, GWO performs better than both FFO and PSO, displaying great accuracy and precision along with remarkable recall and specificity. These results provide important information on the effectiveness of feature selection methods utilized in optimization algorithms for heart disease classification. The study also highlights the need for more investigation into the potential of these optimization algorithms in many fields, broadening their use beyond the classification of disease. This kind of work might improve the progress of the field of feature selection and aid in the creation of better classification models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In recent times, blockchain has evolved the security of traditional supply chain systems. Different issues of supply chain management like flexibility and reliability can be easily addressed using blockchain. Meat Packing Industry involves the complete process of processing, packaging and supplying the meat and its products throughout the world for human consumption. The animals used for the meat supply chain include pigs, sheep, cattle etc. Due to the enormous increase in the number of meat-eaters worldwide, its packing and timely supply are of utmost importance. The meat packing industry has revolutionized a lot by using the latest supply chain methods based on new technologies like blockchain. These include adulteration, long-term delays leading to spoilage of the product, mixing of other similar products which are lower in price etc. All these issues can be easily handled by using blockchain and IoT for meat supply chain management. Using these technologies, the challenges ranging from timely transportation of good quality meat to the best quality meat delivered to the customer can be easily addressed. In this paper, an effective blockchain and IoT-based model has been proposed which will counter the above challenges and improve the reliability and security factor. © 2024 IEEE.
