This paper presents a novel approach for the online calculation of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) gains using the Tabular Dyna-Q algorithm. By leveraging Q-learning, this technique enables the determination of gains for unknown dynamic systems by using input-output data only. The proposed algorithm is particularly advantageous for situations where acquiring input-output data is expensive or time-consuming, as it effectively reduces computation time by reusing previous data. To validate the accuracy of the calculations and control scheme, a simulation example is provided. The results indicate the effectiveness of the Tabular Dyna-Q algorithm in accurately computing LQR gains and its potential application in real-world scenarios. This research contributes to advancing the field of control theory by offering an efficient and reliable method for online gain calculation in dynamic systems. © 2023 IEEE.

We consider the control design of stochastic discrete-time linear multi-agent systems (MASs) under a global signal temporal logic (STL) specification to be satisfied at a predefined probability. By decomposing the dynamics into deterministic and error components, we construct a probabilistic reachable tube (PRT) as the Cartesian product of reachable sets of the individual error systems driven by disturbances lying in confidence regions (CRs) with a fixed probability. By bounding the PRT probability with the specification probability, we tighten all state constraints induced by the STL specification by solving tractable optimization problems over segments of the PRT, and relax the underlying stochastic problem with a deterministic one. This approach reduces conservatism compared to tightening guided by the STL structure. Additionally, we propose a recursively feasible algorithm to attack the resulting problem by decomposing it into agent-level subproblems, which are solved iteratively according to a scheduling policy. We demonstrate our method on a ten-agent system, where existing approaches are impractical. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces XMeta-OS, a meta-operating system specially designed with Linux as its foundation to unify and optimize resource management for the distributed edge-cloud when dynamic use of GPU resources is possible. This approach offer a new GPU abstraction layer and dynamic edge-cloud allocation model that offer enhanced flexibility and resource utilization over existing systems like Kubernetes and OpenStack. By using likely sensitive data, the model applied cloud-pushed deployment model. XMeta-OS manages computer resources in real-time. Therefore, fulfilling high performance various needs. It allocates CPU and GPU in real-time to workloads requiring massive parallel processing, such as machine learning, scientific simulations, real-time data analytics, and transportation tasks. Fabrication in the laboratory of an edge-cloud environment can help to assess the scalability, fault tolerance and efficiency of the system. It showcases the overall architectural design of XMeta-OS. Changes to the kernel and security solutions for safe and effective distribution are suggested. This article presents the design of the XMeta-OS. The future of XMeta-OS entails usage and testing with which we see latency, energy, computation and other such measurements in labs. XMeta-OS is a solution to cost performance, emerging application, large-scale edge-cloud deployments, and distributed GPU-enabled infrastructures. Long-term operation and switching of transformer on-load tap-changers can cause degradation and deterioration of the main contact material, even leading to contact arcing damage in severe cases. However, the arcing mechanism of the main contact during the switching has not been clarified yet. A magneto-hydrodynamic simulation method of main contact arcing has been proposed. The geometry of the main contact in transformer oil is simplified, and the simulation model of the arc temperature field of the main contact in transformer oil coupled with electric, magnetic, thermal and fluid fields is proposed. The dynamic evolution of the arc temperature has been investigated at peak currents of 2100 A, 1500 A, 600 A and 300 A, respectively. The results show that with the increase of the spacing between contacts, the temperature at arc core rises rapidly and then decreases slowly, and the temperature can reach 50177 K at 2100A. Due to the electron bombardment at the anode surface, the temperature at anode surface is higher than that at cathode surface under different chopped currents. The highest temperatures at anode and cathode surface can reach 4142.5 K and 4081.7 K respectively. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd 2024.

Weakly supervised video object segmentation (WSVOS) enables the identification of segmentation maps without requiring extensive annotations of object masks, relying instead on coarse video labels indicating object presence. WSVOS in surgical videos is, however, more challenging due to the complex interaction of multiple transient objects, such as surgical tools moving in and out of the surgical field. In this scenario, state-of-the-art WSVOS methods struggle to learn accurate segmentation maps. We address this problem by introducing ViDeo Spatio-Temporal disentanglement Networks (VDST-Net), a framework to disentangle complex spatio-temporal object interactions using semi-decoupled knowledge distillation to predict high-quality class activation maps (CAMs). A teacher network is designed to help a temporal-reasoning student network resolve activation conflicts, as the student leverages temporal dependencies when specifics about object location and timing in the video are not provided. We demonstrate the efficacy of our framework on a challenging surgical video dataset where objects are, on average, present in less than 60% of annotated frames, and compare our method to state-of-the-art methods on surgical data and on a public dataset commonly used to benchmark WSVOS. Our method outperforms state-of-the-art techniques and generates accurate segmentation masks under video-level weak supervision. Our code is available at: https://***/PCASOlab/VDST-net. © 2025 IEEE.

In response to the escalating demand for electricity, the aging process and inherent failures in power lines have become unavoidable challenges in their operational integrity. This research addresses the imperative need for a robust method to detect damage in power insulator disc images, introducing a novel feature extraction technique grounded in color intensity profile transformation and ensemble learning. For the purposes of the research, a specific dataset was developed based on publicly available images of power insulators. The collection consists of 9232 images of insulator discs which included 2184 images of damaged discs. The discernible damages include breakages and burnouts. Two distinct analysis variants were employed. In the first variant (V1), two classification groups were selected: disc with damages and disc without damages. In the second variant (V2), three classification groups were selected: discs without damage, broken discs, and burnout discs. The described research was divided into two successive stages. In the first of them (S1), the transformed color intensity profiles for the prepared data set were built and various machine learning models for their classification were trained and evaluated. In the next stage (S2), previously developed, highest efficient machine learning models, were used to make the detection of various damaged types of overhead line insulator discs. For the first stage of research high-performance results and a high value of the F1 score parameters were obtained (F1 score = 0.999 for the first variant (S1V1) and F1 score = 0.992 for the second variant (S1V2). In the second stage of research and the first variant (S2V1), the highest result of the F1 score was 0.932 and for the second variant (S2V2) F1 score was 0.930. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Trust evaluation and trust establishment play crucial roles in the management of trust within a multi-agent system. When it comes to collaboration systems, trust becomes directly linked to the specific roles performed by agents. The Role-Based Collaboration (RBC) methodology serves as a framework for assigning roles that facilitate agent collaboration. Within this context, the behavior of an agent with respect to a role is referred to as a process role. This research paper introduces a role engine that incorporates a trust establishment algorithm aimed at identifying optimal and reliable process roles. In our study, we define trust as a continuous value ranging from 0 to 1. To optimize trustworthy process roles, we have developed a consensus-based Gaussian Process Factor Graph (GPFG) tool. Our simulations and experiments validate the feasibility and efficiency of our proposed approach with autonomous robots in unsignalized intersections and narrow hallways. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents the application of Fractional Order Sliding Mode control (FO-SMC) in order to achieve a robust motion trajectory regulation in dynamic robot systems. The proposed control strategy benefits of both advantages of fractional calculus and sliding mode control to upgrade the robustness and the performances of the controller. Moreover, the paper proposes to use a fuzzy tuning of sliding mode controller in order to satisfy the capabilities of the actuators. The stability of the closed loop system has been demonstrated using the Lyapunov theory. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method achieving precise trajectory tracking and robust performances, it has been shown that fuzzy tuning of the sliding function parameters significantly reduces control variable peaks, making the control more suitable for actuator application. © 2024 IEEE.

Detecting P300 event-related potentials (ERPs) from electroencephalography (EEG) finds applications in several domains including brain computer interfaces (BCIs). Due to the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), however, detecting P300 from single trials has been challenging. As a result, multiple repetitions are typically needed, extending the BCI decision time. To address this problem, in this paper, we present TopoEEG, a novel method that generates a sequence of topography-based images from EEG, to capture both spatial and temporal information. These sequences are subsequently processed using the state-of-the-art video classification technique, TimeSformer. Evaluated using the BCI Competition II (IIb) dataset, results demonstrate that TopoEEG achieves single-trial P300 detection with F1-scores of 0.6830 and 0.7134 within the first 500 ms and 600 ms, respectively. These results highlight TopoEEG's potential to enhance the efficiency and speed of BCIs by reducing the need for multiple repetitions and the time required for decision-making in single-trial P300 detection.
