Cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As) have become the focus and difficulty of inorganic pollution control in rice fields due to their opposite chemical properties, distinct geochemical behavior and wide distribution. Field experiments were performed to thoroughly evaluate the performance and mechanism of the two carbon-iron compositesin(ZVI-biochar and ZVI-peat) mitigating the bioavailability of soil Cd and As. The results indicated that the mitigating performance for Cd bioavailability decreased as follows: ZVI-biochar > ZVI-peat > biochar > wood peat > ZVI, and the mitigating performance for As bioavailability was in the order of ZVI-peat > ZVI-biochar > ZVI;Biochar and wood peat enhanced the bioavailability of soil As. The two Carbon-iron composites signifificantly decreased Cd(65.6-81.6%) and As(at least 32%) concentration in soil solution and bioavailable soil Cd and As forms compared with the control. Both ZVI-biochar and ZVI-peat resulted in a more than 42% reduction for grain Cd and 33.8% reduction for grain As. The two carbon-iron composites demonstrated synergistic effects of carbon materials and ZVI by facilitating the transformation Cd and As from bioavailable fractions to immobilized fractions, which was attribute to carbon materials’ electrical conductivity that lead to rapid corrosion of ZVI and generation of amorphous iron oxyhydroxides and iron-based ternary complexes. Nevertheless, the two carbon-iron composites achieved a higher soil pH, CEC and the formation of iron plaque in rice rhizosphere than single carbon materials or ZVI treatments, thus showed superior immobilization performance. In addition, the two carbon-iron composites significantly enhanced the Fe availability and promoted Fe uptake in rice tissues, which inhibited the Cd/As transported from rice roots to grains and mitigated Cd/As uptake in rice grains. In this contribution, we discuss the construction, modeling, and control of a three-beam prototype that utilizes interactive fiber rubber composites integrated with shape memory alloys (SMAs) as actuators. These actuators are integrated into a textile layer and covered with an elastomer layer, providing flexibility and protection to the prototype. A mathematical model was developed to describe the behavior of the prototype, employing system identification techniques. However, precise position control of systems actuated by SMAs is challenging due to their inherent nonlinearities and hysteretic behavior. To tackle this challenge, a proportional-integral (PI) controller was designed based on robust stability conditions. The effectiveness of the designed PI controller was validated through both numerical simulations and real experiments. © 2023 The Authors. Environment-induced steady-state quantum coherence (SSQC) is a captivating phenomenon that challenges conventional understandings of decoherence. In this article, we delve into the foundational aspects of environment-induced SSQC, shedding light on its emergence within the framework of system-bath interactions. Starting from a microscopic system-bath-coupled model, we investigate the dependence of SSQC on environmental memory effects, the bath temperature, the system-bath coupling strength, and squeezing parameters. Our findings reveal that the environment not only acts as a generator but also as a disruptor of SSQC. A peak will exist for a non-Markovian bath, which is a result of competition between these two mechanisms. Interestingly, the peak disappears in the Markovian case. Additionally, we observe that the generated SSQC can be further amplified through environment squeezing.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle enabled (UAV-enabled) wireless powered Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) provide an effective way to deploy massive and passive sensors for environmental monitoring in harsh environments. This study focuses on maximizing the total energy received by all Sensor Nodes (SNs) through the optimization of the UAV trajectory. An energy-aware smoothing trajectory method is proposed by considering the dynamic energy requirements of SNs. First, the optimization problem (P1) is formulated according to the mathematical model. Second, the B-spline method is introduced to turn the smoothing problem into a solvable problem (P2). Finally, problem (P2) is solved under the constraints to obtain the trajectory solution. Simulation results indicate the proposed method can adjust the overall trajectory according to the SNs demands. Meanwhile, according to the wake-up distance and energy-aware, the trajectory of some nodes can be locally adjusted without affecting other trajectory segments.

This paper is covers basic problems of creating a predictive diagnostic system for assets and units of a heating power plant based on a fully connected neural network. The research confirms frequent situation when the network cannot be properly trained against typical failures due to lack of statistical data associated with each type of failure. In order to solve the problem we implement the idea of utilizing additional data that belongs to pre-fault time period and/or corresponds to warning alarms thrown before the failure itself. The primary analysis shows that existing databases from industrial enterprises contain significant amount of pre-fault data. We introduce a procedure of creating and preprocessing the training set based on pre-fault data measurements. The procedure includes basic stages of detecting cross-correlation between measured parameters, defining each parameter variation/range and choosing the data most applicable for neural network training. The result of training the network and testing the diagnostic system on real data taken from the turbine's feeding pump located at the heat power plant. Based on the real result demonstrated we certify positive outcome of the designed predictive diagnostic system and share some future improvements to be done.

Algebraic differentiators have attracted much interest in recent years. Their simple implementation as classical finite impulse response digital filters and systematic tuning guidelines may help to solve challenging problems, including, but not limited to, nonlinear feedback control, model-free control, and fault diagnosis. Cr (VI) is extremely harmful to both the environment and human health, and it can linger in the environment for a very long period. In this research, the Leersia hexandra Swartz constructed wetland-microbial fuel cell (CW-MFC) system was constructed to purify Cr (VI) wastewater. By comparing with the constructed wetland (CW) system, the system electricity generation, pollutants removal, Cr enrichment, and morphological transformation of the system were discussed. The results demonstrated that the L. hexandra CW-MFC system promoted removal of pollutants and production of electricity of the system. The maximum voltage of the system was 499 mV, the COD and Cr (VI) removal efficiency was 93.73% and 97.00%. At the same time, it enhanced the substrate and L. hexandra ability to absorb Cr and change it morphologically transformation. Additionally, the results of XPS and XANES showed that the majority of the Cr in the L. hexandra and substrate was present as Cr (III). In the L. hexandra CW-MFC system, Geobacter also functioned as the primary metal catabolic reducing and electrogenic bacteria. As a result, L. hexandra CW-MFC system possesses the added benefit of removing Cr (VI) while producing energy compared to the traditional CW system. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Image colorization has always been a hot topic in computer vision. Since the emergence of deep learning and its excellent performance in many image-processing tasks, image colorization methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) emerge in an endless stream, including automatic colorization methods and A coloring method based on a reference image. In the coloring method based on the reference image, an existing problem is that an algorithm for calculating the similarity between the grayscale image and the reference image needs to be designed to map the color blocks in the reference image to the grayscale image. And we use the attention mechanism to spread color implicitly, and propose an attention-guided image colorization network, which extracts features and corresponding color information from the reference image through a reference encoding sub-network, and simultaneously passes a target encoding sub-network The network extracts grayscale features from grayscale images, uses attention to calculate the correlation between the two types of features, and then restores the features and reconstructs colors through the decoding network. Our method can quickly capture the color of the reference feature, accurately transfer it to the target feature, and effectively solve the problem of small target loss during downsampling. By validating on multiple datasets, the results show that our method is effective, outperforming multiple state-of-the-art image colorization algorithms.

In this paper, a fully-actuated system prescribed performance controller is proposed to achieve attitude tracking control of the combined spacecraft. In order to make the combined spacecraft satisfy the required steady-state and transient performance in the attitude tracking control process, a fully actuated system controller with prescribed performance is proposed. The attitude dynamics model of the combined spacecraft is transformed into a tracking error function. Furthermore, the controller of the fully actuated system is designed according to the error function to realize the attitude tracking control of the combined spacecraft. Lyapunov function is introduced to prove the stability of the system. With the presented way of designing fully actuated system prescribed performance controller, the numerical simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
