Trees are one of the most important elements of natural landscapes. Therefore, in computer graphics, there is a great demand for methods to realize the natural representation of trees in virtual landscapes in various fields such as entertainment industry or environmental assessment in construction. Many studies have been made on techniques in which the shapes of trees are modeled but only a few studies have been reported on methods to incorporate the shapes with motions in a wind field. Most of these studies use physical simulation techniques based on the equations of motion to generate the branch motions and cannot realize the motions of individual leaves. In this paper, we propose a method to create the natural motions of individual leaves and branches swaying in a wind field. This method generates the leaf and branch motions based on "1/f(beta) noise", which is observed in various natural phenomena. For the branch motion, a simple simulation method based on the spring model is applied to enhance the realism of the motion. This method enables the real-time creation of the leaf and branch motions. Diverse motions according to tree species and shapes and wind conditions can be easily realized by controlling the parameters.

This paper describes a prototype tool that facilitates the process of understanding and managing multi-language program dependencies. More specifically, the software tool maintains a repository of host-to-foreign language dependencies between C/C++ and Java code. We describe some program comprehension features of the tool and we discuss a preliminary case study performed in order to verify its functionality and validate its usefulness. Based on the results of this study, we continue improving the tool.

In this paper, we start by presenting examples of such degeneration and continue with an analysis of technologies that can be used to diagnose degeneration. These technologies can be employed in identifying, degeneration so that it can be treated as early as possible, before it is too late and the system has to undergo a costly redesign.

softwareengineering studies run in classroom environments can and have made important contributions to empirical softwareengineering. Because the goal of such studies is to improve the state of the practice in industry, researchers must understand and account for the differences between university students and industrial professionals. One major difference identified is the amount of training and practice that students and professional may have when learning a new technique. We propose and test a method of allowing university subjects to cost-effectively gain experience to compensate for this difference. The results show that the proposed method for gaining experience provided subjects with enough experience to improve their effectiveness in some but not all cases. There was also an indication from the results that the proposed method allowed the subjects to become more comfortable with a new technique.
