In this paper authors will expose a work developed with the aim to submit an educational innovation project proposal to a competitive call for Educational Innovation Projects 2013-2015 of the Education Advisory Service of the Basque Country University (UPV/EHU, Spain). This project is being carried out in the computer Structure and computer Architecture sub-module of the Degree in computer Management and Information systems Engineering of the University College of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The project is based on the active learning, more specifically, on cooperative learning. In this paper we have given deeper insight the dependencies between all the subjects belonging to the analyzed sub-module, which is composed of two subjects named computer Structure and computer Architecture. We have included in such analysis a previous subject named Principles of Digital systems Design, which does not belong to that sub-module, but plays an important role in the acquisition of the knowledge and competencies of the two previously referenced subjects.

In addition to simplicity, the DTC of the IM allows a good torque control in steady-state and transient operating conditions. However, high torque ripple is produced, which is reflected in speed estimation responses. It also increases acoustical noise and makes the voltage source inverter operated in high and variable switching frequency, requiring a high sampling frequency. In this paper, a simple effective ANN-based DTC of the induction machine is proposed. Neural networks with a simple architecture are designed and implemented in influential points of the direct torque control block of the three phase induction machine in order to improve its dynamic performance while preserving the DTC structure simplicity as much as possible. In particular, this paper proposes to reduce, on the one hand, the torque ripple and commutation frequency. Neural comparators are used to select the appropriate bandwidth for the torque and flux hysteresis controllers. Their aim is to optimize the ripple level in the developed torque and flux. On the other hand, a neural speed controller is designed in order to improve the system ability to respond rapidly to changes in process variables and mitigate the effects of external perturbations. The performance of the proposed control are tested in simulation and highlighted by comparing to the conventional DTC control based on conventional hysteresis comparators and conventional PI speed controller. The obtained results show the feasibility and good performances of the proposed control.

This paper explores a relatively new methodological approach for the field integrating learning and education, with other research areas, such as neurobiological, cognitive, and computational sciences. Specifically, presented work is an interdisciplinary piece of research aiming to simulate appropriately a challenging and critical issue concerned with academic performance in e-learning systems. Namely, considering face to face tutoring phenomenon observed while an interactive e-learning process is performed. Referring to strong interest announced by educationalists to know how neurons' synapses inside the brain are interconnected. Together to perform communication processing among brain regions. Herein, a special attention has been developed towards dynamical academic evaluation of timely based brain learning via face to face (FTF) interactive tutoring. In other words, this piece of research presents an interdisciplinary realistic dynamic investigation. For academic performance phenomenon associated with e-learners' contribution as time response performed human's brain neuronal function. Accordingly, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN~s) have been adopted for realistic modeling of academic performance evaluation based on timely dependant student's response till attaining learning convergence (desired output). After running of designed realistic simulation program, some interesting results have been presented. Interestingly, individual differences' phenomenon observed via after statistical analysis of obtained simulation results.

Models of quantum systems on curved space-times lack sufficient experimental verification. Some speculative theories suggest that quantum properties, such as entanglement, may exhibit entirely different behavior to purely classical systems. By measuring this effect or lack thereof, we can test the hypotheses behind several such models. For instance, as predicted by Ralph and coworkers [T C Ralph, G J Milburn, and T Downes, Phys. Rev. A, 79(2):22121, 2009;T C Ralph and J Pienaar, New Journal of Physics, 16(8):85008, 2014], a bipartite entangled system could decohere if each particle traversed through a different gravitational field gradient. We propose to study this effect in a ground to space uplink scenario. We extend the above theoretical predictions of Ralph and coworkers and discuss the scientific consequences of detecting/failing to detect the predicted gravitational decoherence. We present a detailed mission design of the European Space Agency's (ESA) Space QUEST (Space - Quantum Entanglement Space Test) mission, and study the feasibility of the mission scheme. Major construction and initial-phase operation of a second-generation gravitational-wave detector KAGRA has been completed. The entire 3-km detector is installed underground in a mine in order to be isolated from background seismic vibrations on the surface. This allows us to achieve a good sensitivity at low frequencies and high stability of the detector. Bare-bones equipment for the interferometer operation has been installed and the first test run was accomplished in March and April of 2016 with a rather simple configuration. The initial configuration of KAGRA is named iKAGRA. In this paper, we summarize the construction of KAGRA, including the study of the advantages and challenges of building an underground detector and the operation of the iKAGRA interferometer together with the geophysics interferometer that has been constructed in the same tunnel. This paper discusses the promising modern turbo-codes in the concept of 3 rd generation communication systems. Presents the extended mathematical principles of the algebra logarithm of the likelihood function for N statistically independent information bits with the transition to trigonometric and hyperbolic functions by using Gudermannian expression and decomposition in B. Taylor power series for finding the result with the defined accuracy.

The purpose of this paper is to look back on a long term informal innovative experience carried out during the last nine years until the present one, and try to discern, with a retrospective and a long time vision, whether it has been as beneficial as expected once it has concluded. This experience has taken place in the University College of Engineering of Vitoria (Basque Country University, Spain) since the year 2.004, and it has been accomplished in the subject Company Networks of Technical Engineering in Management Computing. After the analysis of a number of data collected along these years, we found that we have reached the initial objective of increasing the enrolment in the subject that has driven the project, and other unexpected ones that are more important from a long time point of view. Once that nine years have lapsed and the project is going to be finished, we conclude that it is a very positive experience and we recommend doing the same with the new degrees of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), as we plan.

The objective of this paper is to describe an ongoing work that we are carrying out in the frame of an educational innovation project supported by the Education Advisory Service of the Vicerectorship for Teaching Quality and Innovation (University of the Basque Country, Spain). The project is driven by means of the subject of Industrial Informatics of the degree of Industrial Electronic Engineering and automatics (University College of Engineering of Vitoria, Basque Country University, Spain). The design of the project is based on the development of a collaborative work distributed among all the students of the subject, grouped in several teams or working groups. The work developed by each of those groups is complementary, and when all these parts of work are finished, all of them will fit together. The conclusion reached until this moment through the continuous tracking of the students is that there is an increased and more active attendance. Besides, the results reached by the students in different evaluations have improved those reached by means of the traditional paradigm of learning.
