Efficiency and convenience have increased as a result of the Internet of Things’ (IoT) expanding adoption across several enterprises. Nevertheless, the dynamic nature of IoT devices severely hinders real-time security breach prevention. Model checking, self-adaptation, and the Behavior-Interaction-Priority (BIP) component model are combined into an application layer to increase data-driven security for IoT systems. An integrated approach is proposed in this paper as a conceptual model for Internet of Things (IoT) security. This approach may have the potential to significantly improve the identification and mitigation of security concerns, including bogus data, malware attacks, and secure system transactions. The framework model is comprised of four primary components: BIP-based Secure Data Collection and Storage (BIP-SDCS), BIP-based Data Analytics (BIP-DA), BIP-based Secure Threat Detection and Response (BIP-STDR), BIP-based Continuous Monitoring (BIP-CM). © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Physician scheduling is a critical task that impacts the quality of patient care, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency in healthcare institutions. The traditional approach to physician scheduling is manual and time-consuming, which can result in errors, staff burnout, and suboptimal schedules. To address these challenges, researchers have turned to optimization techniques like CSP, which has shown promise in solving physician scheduling problems. This paper reviews the existing literature on CSP for physician scheduling and highlights the benefits and limitations of this approach. CSP's benefits include generating schedules quickly and efficiently, incorporating complex constraints and preferences, and handling changes and disruptions in real time. However, CSP also has some limitations, such as the need for a formalized model and the fact that it may not always generate the most intuitive schedules. Overall, the findings suggest that CSP is a promising approach to physician scheduling that can produce high-quality schedules while minimizing staff burnout and improving operational efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes a measurement technique for an integrated complex filter. The proposed method is based on two measurement methods with integrated circuitry for calibration. It is accomplished by applying square waves to an FUT (Filter Under Test) instead of sinusoidal waves or by superposing transfer characteristics obtained by applying a single sinusoidal wave to an FUT. In both of the above methods, the output signal connected to the external measurement equipment via a 50 Ω coaxial cable and so on. In this case, the output signal of the FUT should be amplified by internal or external amplifiers, which degrades the response. However, it is cancelled out by the proposed calibration circuitry with some analog switches. In addition to the above, for the RC polyphase filter, the source resistance and the load capacitance degrade the measurement results and their effect is discussed. The validity of the proposal is confirmed through computer simulation for a third-order RCPF whose passband is 8–40 MHz fabricated by Phenitec 0.6 µm CMOS process. It is shown that the measurement error is −1.10 dB for the square-wave method and −1.00 dB and −0.43 degrees for the superposition method at 40 MHz. © 2025 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Virtualization technologies are still growing bigger and faster. Despite the greatness of its advancement, the costume industry is still very accessible when it comes to real trials. Off-the-shelf stuff are inadequate details for the desired individual to assess its in-depth utility for each garment trying on for a second, including custom stuff are much harder to try out right away. To this end, 2D image-based 3D reconstruction inclusive of touchable-virtualized space is accessible easier to stuff details for mans' decision making in purchasing. We establish the overall end-to-end pipeline from reconstruction until visualization for one instance to be triable on its stuff for a moment. As an expectation, our proposed approach can bring objects into the experimental area and use them immediately without any obstacle. © 2023 IEEE.

The Smart Power Grid (SPG) is pivotal in orchestrating and managing demand response in contemporary smart cities, leveraging the prowess of information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Within the immersive SPG environment, the ubiquitous deployment of smart meters stands as a testament to their paramount importance in the realm of vigilant monitoring and oversight. These smart meters are installed on high-tension electricity lines and transmit information about electricity outages and other issues to the utility center. To access services from utility centers, smart meters need to communicate securely over a public channel, even though the network itself is insecure. However, potential attacks from adversaries ( Ad) can exploit this communication. Therefore, protecting this communication is of utmost importance. Several privacy-preserving authentication protocols designed for SPG have been introduced in the literature. Nevertheless, a significant number of these protocols exhibit vulnerabilities to diverse security attacks. This article introduces a lightweight and anonymous authentication protocol specifically designed to address these concerns in the SPG environment. Our protocol ensures both security and efficiency, surpassing other comparable protocols in terms of its lightweight nature. By employing both formal and informal analysis, we showcase the robustness of our protocol against significant attacks while remaining lightweight. The proposed protocol provides added security features and incurs 23.8879% lower computation cost than related protocols. Consequently, our protocol is highly suitable for implementation in the SPG system. © 2020 IEEE.

Fall risk assessment is an effective and simple measure to evaluate the balance of people especially the elderly who are likely to have balance disorder. Lose of body balance increases a fall risk which could lead to severe damage to aging persons. In this paper, we propose to apply pose estimation technique based on PoseNet method to detect body joints from webcam's video for two types of fall risk assessment: Five Times Sit to Stand Test (FTSTS) and 30-Second Chair Stand Test (30CST). The experiments were performed with 17 volunteers concurrently with the measures of a healthcare expert. The results revealed that our proposed technique corresponds well with the measure of the expert evaluating by a Pearson correlation coefficient which equals to 0.903 and 0.980 for FTSTS and 30CST respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

The role of influencers, especially on social media platforms, has grown significantly. A commonly used feature among business professionals today is follower grouping. However, this feature is limited to identifying influencers based solely on mutual followership, underscoring the need for a more sophisticated approach to influencer *** study proposes a new method for influencer detection that integrates the Leiden Coloring Algorithm and Matrix Centrality. This approach leverages network analysis to identify patterns and relationships in large-scale datasets. First, the Leiden Coloring Algorithm partitions the network into various communities, which are considered potential influencer groups. Furthermore, Eigenvector and Degree Centrality augment this process by identifying nodes with high connectivity, representing potential *** proposed method is validated using crawled data from the Twitter (X) social media platform with the keyword "GarudaIndonesia." The results of the Leiden Coloring Algorithm recommend 10 accounts as influencers. Based on Eigenvector Centrality and Degree Centrality for a dataset of 1,000 rows, it is observed that the first and second ranks consistently identify the same influencers, namely IndonesiaGaruda and GarudaCares. However, the third to tenth ranks suggest different influencers. For a dataset of 5,000 rows, both methods again identify IndonesiaGaruda as the top-ranked influencer, while the second to tenth ranks differ between the two *** modularity value for the first test scenario is 0.9396, while for the second test scenario, it is 0.9381. The processing time for the first test scenario is 29.5493 seconds, compared to 434.1838 seconds for the second test scenario. Additionally, the number of communities identified by the Leiden Coloring Algorithm increases with dataset size, with 505 communities for the first test scenario and 1,969 communities for the second. In today's digital era, the influence of social media influencers has grown significantly. A commonly used feature by business professionals today is follower grouping. However, this feature is limited to identifying influencers based solely on mutual followership, highlighting the need for a more sophisticated approach to influencer detection. This study proposes a novel method for influencer detection that integrates the Leiden coloring algorithm and Degree centrality. This approach leverages network analysis to identify patterns and relationships within large-scale datasets. First, the Leiden coloring algorithm is employed to partition the network into distinct communities, identifying potential influencer clusters. Subsequently, Degree centrality is utilized to identify nodes within these communities exhibiting high connectivity, indicating individuals with significant influence. The proposed method was validated using data crawled from Twitter (X) social media, employing the keyword "GarudaIndonesia." The data was collected using Tweet-Harvest between January 1, 2020, and October 16, 2024, resulting in a dataset of 22,623 rows. The proposed method was compared to the Louvain coloring method, demonstrating an increase in the modularity value of the Leiden coloring algorithm by 0.0195, a reduction in processing time by 13.93 seconds, and a decrease in the number of communities by 649.

Analyzing Human Observer Ability in Morphing Attack Detection - Where Do We Stand?

Morphing attacks are based on the technique of digitally fusing two (or more) face images into one, with the final visage resembling the contributing faces. Morphed images not only pose a challenge to Face-Recognition Systems (FRS) but also challenge experienced human observers due to high quality, postprocessing eliminating any visible artifacts, and further the printing and scanning process. Few studies have concentrated on examining how human observers can recognize morphing attacks, even as several publications have examined the susceptibility of automated FRS to morphing attacks and offered morphing attack detection (MAD) approaches. MAD approaches base their decisions either on a single image with no reference to compare against (Single-Image MAD (S-MAD)) or using a reference image (Differential MAD (D-MAD)). One prevalent misconception is that an examiner's or observer's capacity for facial morph detection depends on their subject expertise, experience, and familiarity with the issue. No works have reported the specific results of observers who regularly verify identity (ID) documents for their jobs. As human observers are involved in checking ID documents having facial images, a lapse in their competence can result in significant societal challenges. To assess the observers' proficiency, this research first builds a new benchmark database of realistic morphing attacks from 48 different subjects, resulting in 400 morphed images. Unlike the previous works, we also capture images from Automated Border Control (ABC) gates to mimic realistic border-crossing scenarios in the D-MAD setting with 400 probe images, to study the ability of human observers to detect morphed images. A new dataset of 180 morphing images is also produced to research human capacity in the S-MAD environment. To address the limitations of typical coil detection systems and enhance the performance of traditional magnetic field imaging (MFI) systems, we propose a MFI system that uses a 4×4 array of anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) sensors. The core controller of the proposed system was designed using a pipelined parallelization algorithm and implemented on a high-speed field-programmable gate array (FPGA) in a fully hardware-based architecture. The designed MFI system can achieve parallel acquisition of magnetic field components from the 16-channel AMR sensor array, parallel data processing, parallel data transmission, and parallel computations in a single cycle of only 4 ms. Compared with typical detection systems, the proposed solution not only exhibits superior performance but can also provide dynamic visual representations of sensed information. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
