14-Bit SAR ADC with on-Chip Digital Bubble Sorting Calibration technology

This article designs a 14-bit successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter（SAR ADC）.A novel digital bubble sorting calibration method is proposed and applied to eliminate the effect of capacitor mismatch on the linearity of the SAR ADC. To reduce the number of capacitors, a hybrid architecture of a high 8-bit binary-weighted capacitor array and a low 6-bit resistor array is adopted by the digital-to-analog（DAC）. The common-mode voltage VCM-based switching scheme is chosen to reduce the switching energy and area of the DAC. The time-domain comparator is employed to obtain lower power consumption. Sampling is performed through a gate voltage bootstrapped switch to reduce the nonlinear errors introduced when sampling the input signal. Moreover, the SAR logic and the whole calibration is totally implemented on-chip through digital integrated circuit（IC） tools such as design compiler, IC compiler, etc. Finally, a prototype is designed and implemented using 0.18 μm bipolar-complementary metal oxide semiconductor（CMOS）-double-diffused MOS 1.8 V CMOS technology. The measurement results show that the SAR ADC with on-chip bubble sorting calibration method achieves the signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio of 69.75 dB and the spurious-free dynamic range of 83.77 dB.

Li4Ti5O12 is considered as a safe and stable anode material for high-power lithium-ion batteries due to its“zero-strain”characteristic during the charge/***,the intrinsically low electronic conductivity leads to a deterioration in highrate performance,impeding its intensive ***,the Li4Ti5O12/rutile TiO2(LTO/RT)heterostructured nanorods with tunable oxide phases have been in-situ fabricated by annealing the electrospun nanofiber *** constructing such a heterostructured interface,the as-prepared sample delivers a high capacity of 160.3 mAh·g–1 at 1 C after 200 cycles,125.5 mAh·g–1 at 10 C after 500 cycles and a superior capacity retention of 90.3%after 1,000 cycles at 30 C,outperforming the heterostructure-free counterparts of pure LTO,RT and the commercial LTO *** Functional Theory calculation suggests a possible synergistic effect of the LTO/RT interface that would improve the electronic conductivity and Li-ion diffusion.

Three-Dimensional Vector Cube Decomposition-Based Power Allocation for Multi-Source Inverter-Fed PMSM Drives

The multi-source inverter (MSI)-fed motor drive is an attractive solution for hybrid electric vehicles. However, the design of the modulation scheme for the MSI is a challenging task since the desired motor control and the flexible power allocation between energy sources under unbalanced dc links should be realized simultaneously. In view of this, this paper proposes a three-dimensional vector cube decomposition (3DVCD)-based power allocation strategy for the MSI to achieve flexible power allocation and desired motor control under unbalanced dc links. In the proposed 3DVCD scheme, the reference vector is synthesized in two symmetrical subcubes instead of the uneven three-dimensional voltage vector cube, which simplifies the modulation scheme with unbalanced dc links. By proportionally decomposing the reference vector as two subvectors and mapping them into two symmetrical subcubes, the additional degree of freedom of the power flow control of sources without affecting the motor control is obtained. Based on this, the power allocation between each source is realized by directly adjusting the decomposition factor of the reference vector. Besides, the theoretical power allocation range with the proposed scheme is analyzed. Experimental tests are conducted to validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed scheme. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Energy-Latency Tradeoffs for Joint Optimization of Vehicle Selection and Resource Allocation in UAV-Assisted Vehicular Edge Computing

In Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-assisted Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC), Federated Learning (FL) offers a means to protect user privacy during the training of models using multiple vehicle datasets. However, involving numerous vehicles in the training process can lead to significant communication overhead, thereby increasing FL latency and energy consumption. To address this issue, we propose an energy-latency tradeoff scheme for the joint optimization of vehicle selection and resource allocation in UAV-assisted VEC. Our investigation focuses on maximizing long-term training rewards for vehicle selection and resource allocation in FL, while considering constraints such as UAV energy consumption, vehicular energy consumption, bandwidth, and vehicle mobility. This problem is formulated as a Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) problem and modeled as a Markov Decision Process (MDP). We proposed an algorithm based on AdamW and Butterfly Optimization Algorithm (BOA) for Double-Depth Q-networks (AB-DDQN) to determine the optimal decisions. To expedite algorithm convergence, we replace the stochastic gradient descent (SGD) algorithm with AdamW algorithm and employ BOA to select hyperparameters, enhancing algorithm performance. Experimental validation using the GTSDB dataset demonstrates that our algorithm effectively reduces latency and energy consumption in FL. IEEE

The use of redox-active organic electrode materials in energy storage is restricted due to their inferior solvent resistance,abysmal conductivity,and the resultant low practical *** address these issues,a class of bipolar p-phenylenediimidazole-based small-molecule compounds are designed and ***π-conjugated backbone of these small molecules allows for electron delocalization on a big conjugation plane,endowing them with good conductivity and reaction ***,when the para-positions of phenylene are occupied by hydroxyl groups,as-formed intramolecular hydrogen bonds(N-H...O)between phenolic hydroxyl groups and the–NH groups of imidazole rings further enhance the structural planarity,resulting in higherπ-conjugation degree and better conductivity,and thus higher utilization of active sites and electrode capacity,proved by both experimental results and theoretical *** optimized composite electrode DBNQ@rGO-45 shows a high specific capacity(∼308 mA h g^(−1)at 100 mA g^(−1))and a long cycling stability(112.9 mA h g^(−1)after 6000 cycles at 2000 mA g^(−1)).The significantly better electrochemical properties for hydroxyl group-containing compounds than those without hydroxyl groups attributed to intramolecular hydrogen bond-induced conjugation enhancement will inspire the structure design of organic electrodes for better energy storage.

Facile modification of aluminum hypophosphate and its flame retardancy for polystyrene

A phosphorus-containing flame retardant, aluminum hypophosphite(AHPi), has been modified by(3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane(KH550) to prepare flame-retardant polystyrene(PS). The influence of modified AHPi on the morphology and characterization was investigated, and differences in flame retardant properties of the PS/AHPi and PS/modified AHPi were compared. The PS composite can pass the vertical burning tests(UL-94 standard) with a V-0 rating when the mass content of modified AHPi reaches20%, compared with the mass content of 25% AHPi. The element mapping of the PS composite shows that modified AHPi has better dispersion in PS than AHPi. Thermogravimetric analysis results indicated that adding modified AHPi can advance the initial decomposition temperature of the composite *** the addition of modified AHPi, the decrease in peak heat release rate(p HRR) is more evident than AHPi, and the char yield of the resultant PS composites gradually increased. With the addition of 25%modified AHPi, the p HRR and total heat release of PS composites decreased by 81.4% and 37.6%. The modification of AHPi promoted its dispersion in the PS matrix and improved the char formation of PS composites. The results of real-time infrared spectrometry of PS composites, Fourier transform infrared spectra and X-ray photoelectron analysis of the char layer indicated that modified AHPi has flame retardancy in condensed and gas phases.
