Research and analysis of psychological data based on machine learning methods

The integration of psychology and computer science has become the mainstream contemporary research method on psychological data. Weibo, China's largest open platform for communication and information sharing between users, has many emotional contents hidden in its data. According to the current trend, the Weibo data are segmented by machine learning to obtain a psychological portrait of Weibo users. This design uses Long and Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to perform sentiment classification on Weibo data. The classification results are analysed using word frequency analysis and the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model to obtain portraits of Weibo users' sentiment and an analysis of the results. The results are displayed in the form of word clouds. According to the clustering results of the word clouds, the main factors affecting different polar emotions can be analysed. © 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.. All rights reserved.

In a specific project, how to find a reasonable balance between a plurality of objectives and their optimal solutions has always been an important aspect for researchers. As a trade off between fast convergence and a rich diversity, a Many-objective evolutionary algorithm based on a spatial division and angle-culling strategy(Ma OEA-SDAC) is proposed. In the reorganization stage, a restricted matching selection can enhance the reproductivity. In the environment selection stage, a space division and angle-based elimination strategy can effectively improve the convergence and diversity imbalance of its solution set. Through detailed experiments and a comparative analysis of the proposed Ma OEA-SDAC with five other state-of-the-art algorithms on classical benchmark problems, the effectiveness of Ma OEA-SDAC in solving high-dimensional optimization problems has been verified.

Existing methods on knowledge base question generation (KBQG) learn a one-size-fits-all model by training together all subgraphs without distinguishing the diverse semantics of subgraphs. In this work, we show that making use of the past experience on semantically similar subgraphs can reduce the learning difficulty and promote the performance of KBQG models. To achieve this, we propose a novel approach to model diverse subgraphs with meta-learner (DSM). Specifically, we devise a graph contrastive learning-based retriever to identify semantically similar subgraphs, so that we can construct the semantics-aware learning tasks for the meta-learner to learn semantics-specific and semantics-agnostic knowledge on and across these tasks. Extensive experiments on two widely-adopted benchmarks for KBQG show that DSM derives new state-of-the-art performance and benefits the question answering tasks as a means of data augmentation. Vulnerabilities are disclosed with corresponding patches so that users can remediate them in time. However, there are instances where patches are not released with the disclosed vulnerabilities, causing hidden dangers, especially if dependent software remains uninformed about the affected code repository. Hence, it is crucial to automatically locate security patches for disclosed vulnerabilities among a multitude of commits. Despite the promising performance of existing learning-based localization approaches, they still suffer from the following limitations: (1) They cannot perform well in data scarcity scenarios. Most neural models require extensive datasets to capture the semantic correlations between the vulnerability description and code commits, while the number of disclosed vulnerabilities with patches is limited. (2) They struggle to capture the deep semantic correlations between the vulnerability description and code commits due to inherent differences in semantics and characters between code changes and commit messages. It is difficult to use one model to capture the semantic correlations between vulnerability descriptions and code commits. To mitigate these two limitations, in this paper, we propose a novel security patch localization approach named Prom VPat, which utilizes the dual prompt tuning channel to capture the semantic correlation between vulnerability descriptions and commits, especially in data scarcity (i.e., few-shot) scenarios. We first input the commit message and code changes with the vulnerability description into the prompt generator to generate two new inputs with prompt templates. Then, we adopt a pre-trained language model (i.e., PLM) as the encoder, utilize the prompt tuning method to fine-tune the encoder, and generate two correlation probabilities as the semantic features. In addition, we extract 26 handcrafted features from the vulnerability descriptions and the code commits. Finally, we utilize the attention mechanism to fuse the

Cognitive diagnosis is a critical task in intelligent education, aimed at inferring students’ mastery of knowledge concepts based on their response logs. Although existing cognitive diagnosis models achieve excellent performance, they underestimate the difficulty of easy exercises and overestimate the difficulty of hard exercises. We attribute this to the class imbalance in the response logs of easy and hard exercises. Moreover, the convergence speed varies from exercise to exercise during model training, which further challenges generalization. To address these problems, we propose an exercise’s correct rate-based logit adjustment approach for a wide range of cognitive diagnosis models. Specifically, we enforce logit adjustment in the loss during training to overcome the class imbalance in response logs. Then, we apply group distributionally robust optimization for generalization. Finally, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our model, especially on easy and hard exercises.

Enterprises currently face the challenge of reducing production cycles and costs and utilizing existing cases for making changes and iterations has emerged as a viable solution. However, the acquisition and modification of historical cases present their challenges. To address this, the present paper proposes an intelligent design method based on reinforcement learning that aims to meet the demand for efficient and high-quality design solutions in the field of engineering design. This method comprises four key steps: case characterization, matching, retrieval, and selection. By employing case characterization and matching, users can acquire sets of similar cases that align closely with their specific requirements. Building upon this foundation incorporates a combination of reinforcement learning and weight order cross-reconstruction to generate more proposals. Subsequently, the multi-attribute decision-making method is utilized to select the extended set of design schemes. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through its successful application to a radar design case. © 2023 IEEE.

A frequency and two-hop configuration checking-driven local search algorithm for the minimum weakly connected dominating set problem

The minimum weakly connected dominating set problem is a typical NP-hard problem with a wide range of applications. To solve this problem, we propose a frequency property and two-hop configuration checking strategy-driven local search algorithm (FCC2LS). In this algorithm, we first propose a lock-vertex-based initial solution construction procedure. This procedure guarantees that certain vertices, which must be included in the optimal solution, are added to the solution. Second, we propose a two-hop configuration checking strategy and a frequency property. The two-hop configuration checking strategy is a new variant of the original configuration checking strategy, which prohibits vertices with unchanged configuration from being added to the candidate solution. The frequency property is used to record the number of times for each vertex is added to the solution, which can increase the diversity of selected vertices. Third, we combine two scoring functions, Dscore and Nscore, with the above strategies and propose effective vertex selection methods to help the algorithm select suitable vertices to add into or remove from the candidate solutions. Finally, we evaluate the proposed algorithm FCC2LS with four state-of-the-art algorithms on four groups of benchmark instances. Cross-lingual image captioning, with its ability to caption an unlabeled image in a target language other than English, is an emerging topic in the multimedia field. In order to save the precious human resource from re-writing reference sentences per target language, in this paper we make a brave attempt towards annotation-free evaluation of cross-lingual image captioning. Depending on whether we assume the availability of English references, two scenarios are investigated. For the first scenario with the references available, we propose two metrics, i.e., WMDRel and CLinRel. WMDRel measures the semantic relevance between a model-generated caption and machine translation of an English reference using their Word Mover's Distance. By projecting both captions into a deep visual feature space, CLinRel is a visual-oriented cross-lingual relevance measure. As for the second scenario, which has zero reference and is thus more challenging, we propose CMedRel to compute a cross-media relevance between the generated caption and the image content, in the same visual feature space as used by CLinRel. We have conducted a number of experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of the three proposed metrics. The combination of WMDRel, CLinRel and CMedRel has a Spearman's rank correlation of 0.952 with the sum of BLEU-4, METEOR, ROUGE-L and CIDEr, four standard metrics computed using references in the target language. CMedRel alone has a Spearman's rank correlation of 0.786 with the standard metrics. The promising results show high potential of the new metrics for evaluation with no need of references in the target language. © 2021 ACM.
