Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma(Sanqi in Chinese)is a precious traditional Chinese herbal *** has the effect of dispersing blood stasis and stopping bleeding,reducing swelling and fixing ***,it tends to contaminate with harmful fungi during storage,which may make it much less *** order to understand the fungal contamination of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and master its composition of the exogenous *** surface fungi of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples collected from six Chinese provinces and districts were investigated by using dilution plate *** of aflatoxins by UPLC-MS/*** results showed that Penicillium citrinum was dominantly isolated from Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples from No.1 to *** flavus,which produces aflatoxin,was dominantly isolated from Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples from No.5 and *** addition,kinds of mycotoxin were assayed which were produced by three of those identified *** three fungi strains produced aflatoxin B1(AFB1)and one strain HBSQ1-5 additionally produced other three kinds of mycotoxin,AFB2,AFG1 and *** is the results implied that it will be very important to take serious cautions when using Notoginseng Radix et *** well as,understanding the composition of the exogenous fungi of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and the strains of toxin-producing fungi,which can play an important role in guiding the storage of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma.

Plants harbor diverse microbes(including bacteria,fungi,archaea,protists,and viruses)both inside and outside their tissues,so called the plant-associated *** of research have demonstrated the importance of plant microbiome in promoting the productivity and health of the plant in natural environment because of their essential functions in improving plant nutrition and plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses(Trivedi,Leach,Tringe,Sa,&Singh,2020).Thus,a plant can be regarded as a holobiont comprising the host plant and the associated microbiota(Hassani,Durán,&Hacquard,2018).Within the plant microbiota,mutualistic fungal and bacterial symbionts(*** fungi and Rhizobia)are striking examples of microorganisms playing crucial roles in nutrient acquisition(Martin&van der Heijden,2024)and non-symbitic plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria or fungi(PGPR or PGPF)also have drawn interest due to their ability to improve soil properties and confer stress tolerance in plants(Upadhyay et al.,2023).

Objective:Dalbergia odorifera has long been used as a Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular *** study aimed to determine the potential myocardial protective effect and possible mechanism of action of *** ife ra essential oil(DOEO).Materials and Methods:The essential oil of *** was extracted by *** cardioprotective effects of DOEO were examined by histopathological observation,myocardial enzyme detection,peroxidation,anti-oxidant level detection,and related protein *** compounds in the blood were identified by gas chromatography-mass ***:These results showed that DOEO had significant myocardial cell protection,with IC50 values ranging from 17.64 to 24.78μg/mL in *** to the myocardial ischemia group,the DOEO pretreatment groups had lower levels of myocardial injury,creatinine kinase,lactate dehydrogenase,alanine transaminase,aspartate transaminase,hydrogen peroxide,and nitric oxide,and higher levels of glutathione and superoxide *** addition,DOEO pretreatment significantly increased Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase *** r,immunohistochemical e xperiments showed that DOEO remarkably increased the protein levels of NF-E2-related nuclear factor 2(Nrf2)and heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)and reduced the expression of apoptotic caspases,including caspase 3 and caspase *** main components of the blood were transnerolidol and nerolidol ***,the study showed that DOEO displayed myocardial protection by upregulating the NF-E2-related nuclear factor-antioxidant response element(Nrf2-ARE)and caspase *** has a therapeutic effect on MI by inhibiting the oxidant and apoptotic ***:*** may be a potential candidate drug for treating myocardial ischemic injury.

Four Pairs of Meroterpenoid Enantiomers with Coumarin- and Chromone-Monoterpene Skeletons from Gerbera Piloselloides and Their bioactive Activities

Phytochemical investigations of the extracts from the whole plant of Gerbera piloselloides resulted in the isolation and identification of four pairs of previously unreported meroterpenoid enantiomers with coumarin- and chromone-monoterpene skeletons (1a/1b–4a/4b), including two pairs of 5-methylcoumarin monoterpenes and two pairs of 5-methylchromone monoterpenes. The structures and absolute configurations of these compounds were definitively determined through NMR and MS data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Structurally, compounds 1–4 feature 5-methylphenylpropanoid-substituted monoterpene frameworks. All compounds were evaluated for neuroprotective activity and cytotoxicity against the human cancer cell line SGC-7901 in vitro. Compounds 1, 1a, and 1b exhibited inhibitory effects with IC50 values ranging from 12.07 to 12.44 μM against SGC-7901. Furthermore, the hypothetical biogenetic pathways for these compounds were discussed. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the aging of the population,the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)has increased dramatically,causing severe medical,care,and economic burdens on society and *** efficacy of rivastigmine hydrogen tartrate(RHT),the first-line clinical treatment,is severely limited by the complex and multiple pathogenesis of AD and low brain bioavailability caused by the blood-brain barrier(BBB).Confronting such two bottlenecks,the development of multi-target agents encapsulated BBB-bypassing drug delivery systems offer tremendous thera-peutics possibilities for *** this study,a tailored phytosomes based nose-to-brain drug delivery system with appropriate plume was successfully designed and *** the one hand,Ginseng RG3-based phytosomes loaded with RHT was designed for the co-delivery of GRg3 and RHT,achieving the multi-target pharmacology for AD *** the other hand,a tailored nose-to-brain drug delivery system was established for the satisfactory nose-to-brain delivery efficiency,avoiding the obstacle of BBB through bypassing *** the phar-macodynamic study based on AD rat model,GRg3@RHT exhibited obviously synergic effect,effectively break the vicious cycle of AD progression,ultimately markedly ameliorating learning and memory ability as well as behavioral dysfunctions,and delaying the neurodegenerative process associated with *** addition,the strong correlation of viscosity-droplet size-plume geometry-olfactory deposition was also established,and further proved by the in vivo pharmacokinetic study,which is proposed to provide evidence to enhance nose-to-brain delivery *** study is anticipated to provide novel insights into AD treatment strategies while of-fering innovative ideas for drug delivery approaches targeting nervous system disorders.

Changes of endogenous hormone content in flower bud differentiation period of different Sophora japonica cv. "Jinhuai" in northern Guangxi

Sophora japonica cv. "Jinhuai", which owes its name to the golden yellow color of its dry buds, is an important representative of the S. japonica species and contains as much as 35% rutin, which has significant medicinal value. This tree species is extensively cultivated in the northern region of Guangxi, China with a large number of excellent cultivars being artificially bred to meet diverse production needs. However, there remains a significant gap in knowledge with respect to endogenous hormone dynamics in these cultivars. To establish a scientific foundation for regulating the flowering period of S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai" varieties, this study investigated the contents and dynamic changes of trans-zeatin-riboside (ZR), indole acetic acid (IAA), gibberellin (GA3), and abscisic acid (ABA) in leaves of three S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai" varieties including Zihua, Qiyi, and Zaoshu via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that the flower bud differentiation process differed among S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai" varieties depending on the endogenous hormones used. In Zihua S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai", high levels of ABA, IAA, and ZR, as well as high ABA/GA3 and ZR/IAA ratios were found to be beneficial for flower bud differentiation, while GA3 had little effect on flower bud differentiation with the rank order as ABA > ZR > IAA > GA3. In Zaoshu S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai", high levels of ABA and IAA, as well as high ABA/GA3 and ABA/IAA ratios were observed to be beneficial for flower bud differentiation, while low levels of ZR and ZR/IAA promoted flower bud differentiation and GA3 had also little effect on flower bud differentiation. The rank order for this variety was ABA > IAA > GA3 > ZR. In Qiyi S. japonica cv. "Jinhuai", high levels of ABA, IAA, and GA3, as well as a high ABA/IAA ratio were to be beneficial for flower bud differentiation, while the level of ZR and ratios of ZR/IAA and ABA/GA3 were low with the rank order as GA3 > ABA > IAA > ZR. Assessing the Impact of Selenium-Enriched Foliar Fertilizer on Chinese Wolfberry Using a Sensitive and Streamlined Method with High Performance Liquid Chromatography - Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

This study has established a sensitive and straightforward method for determining various species of selenium (Se) in Chinese wolfberry and Se-rich foliar fertilizers using High Performance Liquid Chromatography - Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS). The application of this method proved effective in quantifying both organic and inorganic Se in 64 batches of Chinese wolfberry and their soaking solutions, along with five types of foliar fertilizer. The investigation unveiled notable variations in Se content among different batches of Chinese wolfberry, with selenomethionine (SeMet) emerging as the predominant form. Furthermore, it was observed that the application of Se-enriched foliar fertilizer led to the deposition of surface Se residues on the surface of Chinese wolfberry, primarily in the forms of Se(VI) and Se(IV).This observation has implications for the proportion of organic Se in the plant (Chinese wolfberry), as organic Se, particularly SeMet, exhibits higher bioavailability and lower toxicity compared to its inorganic counterparts. Therefore, augmenting the organic Se content in the plant may confer greater benefits for the utilization of Chinese wolfberry in promoting human health. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Broad-Specificity Monoclonal Antibody Against Neonicotinoid Insecticides Via a Multi-Immunogen Strategy and Development of a Highly Sensitive GNP-Based Multi-Residue Immunoassay in Ginseng And Tomato

Neonicotinoid insecticides (NNIs) are extensively used across the agricultural products and foods. In order to meet the rapid detection requirements, a novel broad-specificity monoclonal antibody against NNIs was developed for the first time using a multi-immunogen strategy. The antibody’s high affinity and its ability to bind target molecules were verified by ic-ELISA. Furthermore, molecular docking was used to evaluate the pivotal forces affecting binding affinity and to determine binding sites. Subsequently, a highly sensitive gold nanoparticle-based immunochromatographic assay was established for the rapid detection of eight NNIs and the IC50 values were 0.03-1.61 ng/mL. The limits of detection for ginseng and tomato ranged from 0.76 to 30.19 μg/kg and 0.87 to 31.51 μg/kg, respectively. The spiked recovery ranged from 72.04% to 120.74%, and the coefficient of variation were less than 9.0%. This study provides a new direction for the development of multiple NNIs residue immunoassays. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
