The security issue of mobile robots has attracted considerable attention in recent years. In this paper, we propose an intelligent physical attack to trap mobile robots into a preset position by learning the obstacle-avoidance mechanism from external observation. The salient novelty of our work lies in revealing the possibility that physical-based attacks with intelligent and advanced design can present real threats, while without prior knowledge of the system dynamics or access to the internal system. This kind of attack cannot be handled by countermeasures in traditional cyberspace security. To practice, the cornerstone of the proposed attack is to actively explore the complex interaction characteristic of the victim robot with the environment, and learn the obstacle-avoidance knowledge exhibited in the limited observations of its behaviors. Then, we propose shortest-path and hands-off attack algorithms to find efficient attack paths from the tremendous motion space, achieving the driving-to-trap goal with low costs in terms of path length and activity period, respectively. The convergence of the algorithms is proved and the attack performance bounds are further derived. Extensive simulations and real-life experiments illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed attack, beckoning future investigation for the new physical threats and defense on robotic systems. Safety-Aware Scheduling of Real-Time control Systems with Burst Computing Tasks

In industrial sites, multiple real-time control systems often share computing resources. However, burst computing tasks may lead to the dropping of control computing subtasks, resulting in potential hazards. To address this issue, we propose a safety-aware task scheduling scheme. When burst computing tasks are triggered, this scheduling scheme adaptively releases resources from low-criticality control computing subtasks, ensuring the timely completion of burst computing tasks and keeping the control system state deviation within a safe threshold. To achieve the scheduling scheme, we propose an efficient algorithm called ADP-Opt. It decouples the complex original problem into multiple subproblems, which greatly reduces the search space and improves the solution efficiency. In the suboptimization problem, safety is maintained by limiting the upper bound of the system state's deviation to below the threshold. By introducing a penalty term in the cost function related to computing resources, we aim to balance the impact of control computing subtasks on control performance and the consumption of computing resources. Consequently, the overall cost of the control system can be minimized while releasing enough resources for burst computing tasks. Simulation results show that the scheduling decisions made by ADP-Opt can approach the optimal decision by approximately 99% efficiently. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The increasing E-tourism systems provide intelligent tour recommendation for tourists. In this sense, recommender system can make personalized suggestions and provide satisfied information associated with their tour cycle. Data mining is a proper tool that extracting potential information from large database for making strategic decisions. In the study, association rule analysis based on FP-growth algorithm is applied to find the association relationship among scenic spots in different cities as tour route recommendation. In order to figure out valuable rules, Kulczynski interestingness measure is adopted and imbalance ratio is computed. The proposed scheme was evaluated on Wangluzhe cultural tourism service network operation platform (WCTSNOP), where it could verify that it is able to quick recommend tour route and to rapidly enhance the recommendation quality. © Authors 2017. This paper deals with anisotropic diffusion in image affected by speckle. The classical SRAD can remove speckle efficiently, but blur the low-contrast edges. To solve this problem, a low-contrast edge enhancement method based on anisotropic diffusion for speckle reducing is present. The method extends the SRAD to a matrix anisotropic diffusion, and suppresses the diffusion across edges while encourages diffusion along edges. Experimental results showed that the proposed method can suppress the speckle and protect low-contrast edges efficiently.

Optimizing pinning control of complex dynamical networks based on spectral properties of grounded laplacian matrices

Pinning control of a complex network aims at forcing the states of all nodes to track an external signal by controlling a small number of nodes in the network. In this paper, an algebraic graph-theoretic condition is introduced to optimize pinning control. When individual node dynamics and coupling strength of the network are given, the effectiveness of pinning scheme can be measured by the smallest eigenvalue of the grounded Laplacian matrix obtained by deleting the rows and columns corresponding to the pinned nodes from the Laplacian matrix of the network. The larger this smallest eigenvalue, the more effective the pinning scheme. Spectral properties of the smallest eigenvalue are analyzed using the network topology information, including the spectrum of the network Laplacian matrix, the minimal degree of uncontrolled nodes, the number of edges between the controlled node set and the uncontrolled node set, etc. The identified properties are shown effective for optimizing the pinning control strategy, as demonstrated by illustrative examples. Finally, for both scale-free and small-world networks, in order to maximize their corresponding smallest eigenvalues, it is better to pin the nodes with large degrees when the percentage of pinned nodes is relatively small, while it is better to pin nodes with small degrees when the percentage is relatively large. Microgrids are suitable to consume the increasing renewable sources to meet the fluctuating load demand nowadays, and configuration design is essential to build techno-economic microgrids. Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) has high efficiency, high power output, and high fuel adaptability, which can be implemented as a controllable unit combined with an electrolyzer in hydrogen hybrid microgrids. However, the SOFC system’s slow load response should be considered due to SOFC’s complex dynamic characteristics. In this research, a grid-connected SOFC/lithium battery (LB) microgrid integrated photovoltaic and wind energy is constructed, and the LB complements the SOFC system’s slow load response. The stable-dynamic management rules are proposed, considering both SOFC’s tracking response and LB ‘s dynamic discharging and charging limitation to enhance LB’s cycle times. The minimal life cycle cost and minimal renewable energy (RS) curtailment rate are optimized by NSGA-II and the solving process is accelerated by an energy-based pre-selection method. An actual case is studied in one small region in China. The acceleration method is evaluated by comparison and the trade-off between two objectives is proved by the Pareto of the optimal solutions. To further analyze daytime management, we solve the optimal compromise solution by the fuzzy function and study the power dispatching of the typical days. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The event-triggered H_(infinity) control design is investigated for networked control systems with uncertainties and transmission delays. A novel event-triggering scheme is proposed, which has some advantages over traditional ones with a continuous detector. Considering the effect of the transmission delay, a delay system model for the analysis is firstly constructed. Then, based on the model and Lyapunov functional method, criteria for the stability with an H_(infinity) norm bound and criteria for the co-design of both the feedback gain and the trigger parameters are derived. In order to solve the feedback gain and the trigger parameters, the linear matrix inequality technique is employed. From the simulation example, it can be concluded that the proposed event-triggering scheme is superior to some other event-triggering schemes in some existing literature.
