A dispersive Fourier transformation-based ranging method utilizing a femtosecond laser frequency comb is demonstrated. The target and measurement signals interfere through a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and then enter a single-mode fiber with a sufficiently large group velocity dispersion (GVD) to be stretched and extended. The spectral interference information is mapped to the time-domain waveform. The time-frequency conversion function, obtained through calibration, converts the time-domain data into the frequency-domain data. After applying a Fourier transform, the measured distance is determined using the peak-interval method. In multiple measurements with an interval of 200 µm, the average error is within tens of microns., which can be further reduced with a higher-precision displacement table. © 2024 SPIE.

Frequency combs show various applications in molecular fingerprinting,imaging,communications,and so *** the terahertz frequency range,semiconductor-based quantum cascade lasers(QCLs)are ideal platforms for realizing the frequency comb *** self-started frequency comb operation can be obtained in free-running terahertz QCLs due to the four-wave mixing locking effects,resonant/off-resonant microwave injection,phase locking,and femtosecond laser based locking techniques have been widely used to broaden and stabilize terahertz QCL *** active locking methods indeed show significant effects on the frequency stabilization of terahertz QCL combs,but they simultaneously have drawbacks,such as introducing large phase noise and requiring complex optical coupling and/or electrical ***,we demonstrate Farey tree locking of terahertz QCL frequency combs under microwave *** frequency competition between the Farey fraction frequency and the cavity round-trip frequency results in the frequency locking of terahertz QCL combs,and the Farey fraction frequencies can be accurately anticipated based on the downward trend of the Farey tree ***,dual-comb experimental results show that the phase noise of the dual-comb spectral lines is significantly reduced by employing the Farey tree locking *** results pave the way to deploying compact and low phase noise terahertz frequency comb sources.

This study conducted the experimental investigation of aerodynamic heating of Micro-scale Rotational Shearing Flow with Axial Limited-Length(MRSFALL).The temperature riseof the stator is captured by the high response *** eccentricity ratio and clearanceheight are guaranteed by means of instantaneous trajectory and torsion monitoring of the *** result shows that the maximum temperature rise takes place upstream of the minimum clear-ance height along circumferential *** distribution of temperature rise presents asymmet-ric curve along axial direction,and peak value occurs near the dimensionless axial position *** effect of aerodynamic heating becomes notable as the rotational speed is larger than3×10^(4)r/*** effect of end leakage and the viscous dissipation have great impact on temper-ature rise of *** specially,the peak value of temperature rise at dimensionless clear-ance height of 0.0080 is larger than the case at dimensionless clearance height of ***,when the eccentricity ratio is too large,the viscous dissipation is induced,and theadditional temperature rise is *** heat flux identification of shear flow has been realizedby Sequential Function Specification Method(SFSM)and its estimation of thermal load has been *** heat flux induced by the aerodynamic heating in this study varies from 950 W/m^(2)to1330 W/m^(2).

Multi-focus image fusion is a technique that combines multiple out-of-focus images to enhance the overall image quality. It has gained significant attention in recent years, thanks to the advancements in deep learning. However, one of the persistent challenges in this field is the processing of misaligned data, which can negatively impact the fusion results. To overcome this problem, a novel fusion framework with pre-registration is proposed for the fusion of misaligned multi-focus images. For pre-registration, content-aware deep homography estimation is used, which performs transfer learning on a real multi-focus image dataset to adapt to registration under defocused conditions. For fusion, a fusion module with dual-branch feature interaction is utilized to avoid invalid feature fusion and trained on real light field dataset to achieve better fusion performance. Qualitative and quantitative experimental results show that the proposed method has a 2-3 percentage point improvement in multiple evaluation metrics compared to existing advanced registration and fusion methods, and a maximum improvement of 4.83 percentage points in fusion performance when tested independently on the Lytro dataset. Additionally, We find that the value of the Qcv metric is greatly influenced by the alignment status of the input images, leading to its inability to reflect the fusion quality of aligned images. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The long-standing challenge in designing far-infrared transparent conductors(FIRTC)is the combination of high plasma absorption edge(λ_(p))and high conductivity(σ).These competing requirements are commonly met by tuning carrier concentration or/and effective carrier mass in a metal oxide/oxonate with low optical dielectric constant(ε_(opt)=2-7).However,despite the highσ,the transparent band is limited to mid-infrared(λ_(p)<5μm).In this paper,we break the trade-off between highσandλ_(p)by increasing the“so-called constant”ε_(opt)that has been neglected,and successfully develop the material family of FIRTC withε_(opt)>15 andλ_(p)>15μ*** FIRTC crystals are mainly octahedrally-coordinated heavy-metal chalcogenides and their solid solutions with shallow-level *** highε_(opt)relies on the formation of electron-deficiency multicenter bonds resulting in the great electron-polarization *** new FIRTC enables us to develop the first“continuous film”type far-infrared electromagnetic shielder that is unattainable using traditional ***,this study may inaugurate a new era in far-infrared optoelectronics.

Task planning and collaboration of multiple robots have broad application prospects and value in the field of *** improve the performance and working efficiency of our Spherical Underwater Robot(SUR),we propose a multi-robot control strategy that can realize the task planning and collaboration of multiple *** complete real-time information sharing of multiple robots,we first build an acoustic communication system with excellent communication performance under low noise ratio ***,the task planning and collaboration control strategy adjust the SURs so that they maintain their positions in the desired formation when the formation *** SURs can move along desired trajectories in the expected *** control strategy of each SUR uses only its information and limited information of its neighboring ***,based on theoretical analysis and experiments,we evaluate the validity and reliability of the proposed *** comparison to the traditional leader–follower method,it is not necessary to designate a leader and its followers explicitly in our system;thus,important advantages,such as fault tolerance,are achieved.

It is a common military activity to carry out joint fire strike against sea/air-based targets with high threat/value but strong defense ability. The especially high time sensitivity requires immediate actions, leaving little time for planning, greatly challenging the commanders' experience and ability of to work under pressure. This will be changed by AI technologies. A CBR and focus learning based joint fire strike plan generation method is proposed. In peacetime, the scenarios and planning products that the operational staff study and drill are accumulated. The system will automatically recommend reference cases suitable for the current situation according to the new task and battlefield situation, and incrementally learn the concerns of the proficient staff on reference case selection facing tasks. The method has been verified feasible and effective through experiments, which can generate joint strike plans in seconds, and significantly reduce the error rate of the novice staffs, with certain reference value to the command information system development. © 2022 ACM.

Manganese nodules, widely distributed across the deep-sea floor, are emerging as a significant potential mineral resource. Addressing the need for improved exploration and classification methods, this study explores the application of underwater hyperspectral imaging technology for the detection and classification of manganese nodule ore and other rock types. The system, operating within a spectral range of 400 - 1000 nm and achieving a spectral resolution of less than 5 nm, captures the spectral characteristics and spatial information of manganese nodule ores. Different classifiers, including Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Networks (2D-CNN and 3D-CNN) to analyze the spectral data. Our results indicate that the four classifiers can effectively achieve ore classification, and CNN-based classifiers significantly outperform traditional SAM and SVM methods. The 2D-CNN model achieved the highest OA at 92.27%, closely followed by the 3D-CNN model at 91.77%. Our findings demonstrate the potential of underwater hyperspectral imaging combined with advanced machine learning techniques in marine mineral detection and environmental monitoring. © 2024 SPIE.

The coupling of energy-saving small molecule conversion reactions and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in seawater electrolytes can reduce the energy consumption of seawater electrolysis and mitigate chlorine corrosion ***,the fabrication of efficient multifunctional catalysts for this promising technology is of great ***,a heterostructured catalyst comprising CoP and Ni_(2)P on nickel foam(CoP/Ni_(2)P@NF)is reported for hydrazine oxidation(HzOR)-assisted alkaline seawater *** coupling of CoP and Ni_(2)P optimizes the electronic structure of the active sites and endows excellent electrocatalytic performance for HzOR and ***,the two-electrode HzOR-assisted alkaline seawater splitting(OHzS)cell based on the CoP/Ni_(2)P@NF required only 0.108 V to deliver 100 mA·cm^(−2),much lower than 1.695 V for alkaline seawater electrolysis ***,the OHzS cell exhibits satisfactory stability over 48 h at a high current density of 500 mA·cm^(−2).Furthermore,the CoP/Ni_(2)P@NF heterostructured catalyst also efficiently catalyzed glucose oxidation,methanol oxidation,and urea oxidation in alkaline seawater *** work paves a path for high-performance heterostructured catalyst preparation for energy-saving seawater electrolysis for H_(2) production.
