Improving Centralized Path Calculation Based on Graph Compression

Shortest-path calculation on weighted graphs are an essential operation in computer networks. The performance of such algorithms has become a critical challenge in emerging software-defined networks(SdN),since SdN controllers need to centralizedly perform a shortest-path query for every flow,usually on large-scale network. Unfortunately,one of the challenges is that current algorithms will become incalculable as the network size increases. Therefore, inspired by the compression graph in the field of compute visualization,we propose an efficient shortest path algorithm by compressing the original big network graph into a small one, but the important graph properties used to calculate path is reserved. We implement a centralized version of our approach in SdN-enabled network,and the evaluations validate the improvement compared with the well-known algorithms.

In this paper, experimental research on the preparation of graphene from supercritical carbon dioxide was conducted, and the quality of graphene prepared under different process parameters was compared and analyzed. Based on density functional theory, the mechanism of graphite exfoliation by supercritical carbon dioxide molecules was studied. The test results show that when the pressure reaches 10 MPa, the graphite begins to exfoliate, and the number of layers of graphene can be observed through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to be 3. When the pressure increases to 12 MPa with the increasing number of intercalated CO2, the exfoliation effect is significant. Using raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy, it is possible to distinguish single layer graphene. The molecular dynamics simulations results show that the peeling rate of graphite depends on the density of carbon dioxide molecules. When the pressure or density of CO2 is greater than 9.73 MPa or 0.16 g/cm3, the graphite begins to exfoliate, but the exfoliating rate is slow, which is consistent with the experimental results, indicating that the test and numerical simulation have good consistency. © 2023, The Authors. The integration of variable renewable energy sources has been greatly promoted worldwide, and power system analysis becomes more important due to the more complexity in the power system with a large number of distributed generators. It is of prime importance to utilize appropriate models according to the purposes of the numerical simulations. Hence, in this paper, the latest trends of simulation models for power system analysis, such as inverters, rechargeable battery, transient stability, and microgrid, were introduced. © 2021 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

NIG-AP: a new method for automated penetration testing

Penetration testing offers strong advantages in the discovery of hidden vulnerabilities in a network and assessing network ***,it can be carried out by only security analysts,which costs considerable time and *** natural way to deal with the above problem is automated penetration testing,the essential part of which is automated attack *** previous studies have explored various ways to discover attack paths,all of them require perfect network information beforehand,which is contradictory to realistic penetration testing *** vividly mimic intruders to find all possible attack paths hidden in a network from the perspective of hackers,we propose a network information gain based automated attack planning(NIG-AP)algorithm to achieve autonomous attack path *** algorithm formalizes penetration testing as a Markov decision process and uses network information to obtain the reward,which guides an agent to choose the best response actions to discover hidden attack paths from the intruder’s *** results reveal that the proposed algorithm demonstrates substantial improvement in training time and effectiveness when mining attack paths.

Manufacturing strategies to create three-dimensional (3d) structures with multifunctional nanomaterials are of intense interest for fabricating building blocks in many electromechanical applications. A coil spring composed of graphene provides an important step toward the realization of all-carbon devices, as it is one of the essential elements for a wide range of systems. In this connection, here an unprecedented fabrication strategy to create a new type of 3d coil spring composed of laser-induced graphene springs (LIG-S) which is spontaneously produced via the pyrolytic jetting technique, is presented. Similar to wood or metal shavings observed in traditional machining processes, a pair of LIG-S with two opposite chiralities and controllable macroscopic dimensions is produced by a single scanning of a focused continuous-wave (CW) laser on a polyimide (PI) substrate. The resulting LIG-S, plastic shavings by laser, exhibits sufficient mechanical and electrical properties to enable many applications including strain-tolerant spring electrodes, antennas, supercapacitors, gas sensors, and luminescent filaments under extreme conditions. Without using any conventional fabrication techniques or other labor-intensive, time-consuming, and expensive processes, this novel approach enables a high-throughput mass production of macro-, micro-, and nanoscale featured LIG-S that can be manufactured within seconds to realize many open opportunities in all-carbon electromechanical systems. © 2023 The Authors. Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO)-based all-solid-state Li batteries (SSLBs) are very attractive next-generation energy storage devices owing to their potential for achieving enhanced safety and improved energy density. However, the rigid nature of the ceramics challenges the SSLB fabrication and the afterward interfacial stability during electrochemical cycling. Here, a promising LLZO-based SSLB with a high areal capacity and stable cycle performance over 100 cycles is demonstrated. In operando transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is used for successfully demonstrating and investigating the delithiation/lithiation process and understanding the capacity degradation mechanism of the SSLB on an atomic scale. Other than the interfacial delamination between LLZO and LiCoO2 (LCO) owing to the stress evolvement during electrochemical cycling, oxygen deficiency of LCO not only causes microcrack formation in LCO but also partially decomposes LCO into metallic Co and is suggested to contribute to the capacity degradation based on the atomic-scale insights. When discharging the SSLB to a voltage of ≈1.2 versus Li/Li+, severe capacity fading from the irreversible decomposition of LCO into metallic Co and Li2O is observed under in operando TEM. These observations reveal the capacity degradation mechanisms of the LLZO-based SSLB, which provides important information for future LLZO-based SSLB developments. © 2022 The Authors. A direct position determination method with combined TdOA and FdOA based on particle filter

The localization of a stationary transmitter using moving receivers is considered. The original direct Position determination （dPd） methods, with combined Time difference of Arrival （TdOA） and Frequency difference of Arrival （FdOA）, do not perform well under low Signal-to-Noise ratio （SNr）, and worse still, the computation cost is difficult to accept when the computational capabilities are limited. To get better positioning performance, we present a new dPd algorithm that proves to be more computationally efficient and more precise for weak signals than the conventional approach. The algorithm partitions the signal received with the same receiver into multiple non-overlapping short-time signal segments, and then uses the TdOA, the FdOA and the coherency among the short-time signals to locate the target. The fast maximum likelihood estimation, one iterative method based on particle filter, is designed to solve the problem of high computation load. A secondary but important result is a derivation of closed-form expressions of the Cramer-rao Lower Bound （CrLB）. The simulation results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper outperforms the traditional dPd algorithms with more accurate results and higher computational efficiency, and especially at low SNr, it is more close to the CrLB.
