Several data compressors have been proposed in distributed optimization frameworks of network systems to reduce communication overhead in large-scale applications. In this paper, we demonstrate that effective information compression may occur over time or space during sequences of node communications in distributed algorithms, leading to the concept of spatio-temporal compressors. This abstraction classifies existing compressors as spatio-temporal compressors, with their effectiveness described by constructive stability criteria from nonlinear system theory. Subsequently, we apply these spatio-temporal compressors to standard continuous-time consensus flows and distributed prime-dual flows, establishing conditions ensuring convergence. Additionally, we introduce a novel observer-based distributed primal-dual continuous flow integrated with spatio-temporal compressors, which provides broader convergence conditions. These continuous flows achieve exponential convergence to the global optimum when the objective function is strongly convex and can be discretized using Euler approximations. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate the versatility of the proposed spatio-temporal compressors and verify the convergence of algorithms. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Co3o4@Mn-Ni(Oh)2 Core-Shell Heterostructure for Hybrid Supercapacitor Electrode with High Utilization

It is of great importance to rationally design and fabricate electrode materials with high utilization and unexceptionable re-cycling performance in energy storage device including supercapacitors (SCs). Herein, Mn-doped Ni(OH)2 nanosheets with oxygen vacancies in-situ grow on the Co3O4 nanobelts on carbon cloth (CC) to form a core-shell heterostructure (Co3O4@Mn-Ni(OH)2/CC). The obtained Co3O4@Mn-Ni(OH)2/CC electrode has an outstanding specific capacity of 313.4 mA h g–1 (1128.4 C g–1 or 2051.6 F g–1) at 1 A g–1, ca. 6.4 times that of the Ni(OH)2/CC electrode (48.9 mA h g–1). The hybrid supercapacitor (HSC) constructed by activated carbon (AC) and Co3O4@Mn-Ni(OH)2/CC displays a marvelous energy density of 65.5 W h kg−1 at 800 W kg−1, and 93.0% of the capacity retention over 10000 repeated charging/discharging cycles at 5 A g–1, superior to the Co3O4@Ni(OH)2/CC//AC HSC (36.5%) and Mn-Ni(OH)2/CC//AC HSC (53.9%). The results of the characterizations and density functional theory (DFT) calculation show that the Mn-doping and subsequent induced oxygen vacancies promote the conductivity, and inhibit the irreversible phase transition of Ni(OH)2 during the charging/discharging process which contributes to the long-time cycling stability of the electrode. Moreover, the core-shell heterostructure fosters the exposure of active sites and reduces the charge transfer resistance due to the interfacial interaction. In the manufacturing process of a specific type of conical cylinder, high-frequency argon arc welding is employed for butt welding. The uncertainty of the butt weld position relative to the welding gun results in excessive manual labor during production, leading to suboptimal product qualification rates;Consequently, the implementation of a fusion laser welding seam tracking automated control system was initiated. This system utilizes a PLC to gather various sensor data signals, control servomotors, valves, and motors, thereby establishing a comprehensive automated butt welding tracking control system. Ultimately, this achieves the goals of reducing labor costs, diminishing labor intensity, and enhancing both production efficiency and product quality. © 2024 SPIE.

Removal of Phenanthrene from Contaminated Soil by Ozonation process

In order to improve the ozonation efficiency for the remediation of PAHs contaminated soil,the performance experiments were carried out with quartz sand artificially contaminated with *** byproducts of phenanthrene were detected by GC-MS and the toxicity was evaluated by seed germination *** influence of the particle size and moisture content of quartz sand on the ozonation efficiency was *** addition,two kinds of real soil was used to compare with the quartz *** was revealed that the phenanthrene removal rate reached 96%after 600 minutes by using the ozonation *** byproducts of phenanthrene,including 9,10-phenanthrenedione,(1,1’-biphenyl)-2,2’-dicarboxaldehyde,and(1,1’-biphenyl)-2,2’-dicarboxylic acid,were *** proven by seed germination tests,the toxicity of the byproducts was lower than *** phenanthrene was removed more effectively by ozonation in the quartz sand with finer particle *** ozonation efficiency was significantly improved by increasing the moisture content,which is assumed to be related to the alkalinity of quartz sand.

The issue of uneven distribution of public healthcare resources is gradually improving owing to the continuous integration of smart healthcare for the general public, including advances in remote medical image analysis technology, considering manual diagnosis is time-consuming and labor-intensive, with the results obtained by physicians often limited by subjectivity. In this study, we propose a method for interpreting immunohistochemistry (IHC) images based on a graph convolutional network (GCN). We employ self-supervised transfer learning for cell nucleus segmentation, solve strong cues such as cell nucleus image attributes contained in the segmentation masks, and generate the corresponding cell nucleus graph (CN-G). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model, termed CN-GNet, achieves outstanding performance, consistently achieving a cell nucleus segmentation accuracy of approximately 92.0%. The generated CN-G retains over 90.0% of the essential information of the original image, with a compression rate of 8.6%. Moreover, the classification accuracy based on GCN reaches 97.0%±1.4%, representing an improvement of 4.7–7.4% over those of existing classical models. Thus, this work provides technical support and research insights for potential cutting-edge applications in smart healthcare and digital medicine. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

The coal mill is the key equipment of powdering system in coal-fired power plants,whose working state has an important influence on the combustion stability of boiler as well as the operation ***,owing to the lack of real fault data,it is difficult and not available enough to support and achieve the research of data-driven fault diagnosis ***-type medium-speed coal mill was selected as the research object in this ***,the existing mechanism model had been further improved to make it more effective and reasonable,and we used it to respectively simulate the typical operating data of the normal condition and three fault *** paper transformed the problem of fault diagnosis into the measurement of similarity between the testing and the typical fault samples,taking the numerical distance and changing trends into account,and adopted the concept of similarity function and transformed the results into the expression and calculation of probability level,which was calculated as the diagnostic evidence of individual parameters under the same time scale.D-S evidence theory was employed to fuse the individual evidence between multiple parameters evidence,getting the fusion of multiparametric evidence as to the final diagnosis ***,the experiments verified the high accuracy of the proposed diagnostic method,and the similarity function has high rationality and feasibility.

A Profit-Sharing Mechanism for Coordinated Power-Traffic System

During the scheduling process, the traffic network operator (TNO) and the distribution network operator (DNO) act non-cooperatively. Under the TNO's management, the distribution of charging loads may exacerbate the local supply-demand imbalance in the power distribution network (PDN), which negatively impacts the economic operation of the PDN. This paper proposes a profit-sharing mechanism based on the principle of incentive compatibility for coordinating the traffic network (TN) and the PDN to minimize the operation cost of PDN. Under this mechanism, the scheduling process of the power-traffic system is divided into two stages. At the pre-scheduling stage, the TNO allocates traffic flow and charging loads without considering the operation of the PDN, after which the DNO schedules and obtains the original cost. At the rescheduling stage, the DNO shares part of benefits of the optimal operation to the TNO to re-dispatch the EVs’ charging to obtain a more effective charging plan, thus minimize the overall cost of PDN. Then, a bilevel model is developed to simulate the operation of the power-traffic system with the proposed sharing scheme and identify the best sharing ratio. Finally, numerical results demonstrate that the PDN can achieve the minimum total cost and simultaneously the TN can also benefit from the proposed profit-sharing mechanism. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

Background:Streptococcus suis(***)can be transmitted to humans through exposure to pigs or consumption of raw pork and causes serious *** infection through skin abrasions is considered an important route of transmission,few studies have reported skin injuries in patients during exposure or before *** study explored a rare instance of intraocular infection and bilateral deafness caused by *** and emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent disease ***:The diagnosis was made on the basis of clinical symptoms,imaging,molecular detection,and isolated culture *** susceptibility testing was conducted to determine the effectiveness of ***-genome sequencing was used to identify the strain’s sequence type and serotype as well as the presence of pathogenicity islands(PAIs).Results:A patient with intraocular infection and bilateral deafness was diagnosed with an *** *** infection was hypothesized to result from interspecies transmission due to the patient’s occupation and recent skin *** isolated strain was sensitive to ampicillin,ceftriaxone,vancomycin,linezolid,levofloxacin,and ***-genome sequencing revealed that the strain belonged to sequence type 353 and serotype 2,showing close similarity to strains isolated from wild boars in Chinese *** strain lacked the 89 complete kb PAI but had a 33 kb PAI with high similarity,potentially indicating variable ***:This study highlights the importance of employing multiple diagnostic strategies for the timely identification and treatment of *** *** presence of a potentially less virulent strain emphasizes the need for continuous surveillance and monitoring of emerging *** infections,particularly in Asian countries with high-risk populations associated with the pig farming industry.

As a member of low-carbon alloy steels, 20CrMnTi has been widely used to manufacture key-parts, such as gears and shafts, owing to its attractive fatigue resistance and easy of processing. To improve its the mechanical and frictional properties, the preparation of composite is required. In the present study, graphene was added in 20CrMnTi to form Gr/20CrMnTi composites by vacuum high-energy ball milling process and hot-pressing technique. The addition of graphene has a profound influence on the microstructure and properties of 20CrMnTi. A high hardness of 5.83 GPa and a good tensile strength of 1183 MPa were obtained in the 0.5 wt.%-Gr/20CrMnTi, increased by 18.5% and 27.8%, respectively. Meanwhile, the wear resistance reaches a maximum value of 2276.5 cm-3 in the 0.7 wt.%-Gr/20CrMnTi, showing a 491.1% increase than that of pure 20CrMnTi. The layered graphene played an important role in absorbing energy and preventing the propagation of micro-crack. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Polarization-Insensitive Terahertz Biosensing Method Based on Toroidal Dipole Metasurface

Terahertz (THz) metasurfaces based on toroidal dipoles exhibit significant potential in biosensing applications. This study presents a polarization-insensitive THz metasurface biosensor designed with a fourfold rotationally symmetric toroidal dipole structure, consisting of a circular ring and four split-ring resonators. By exploiting the low-loss and polarization-insensitive properties of toroidal dipoles, the proposed sensor achieves significant electromagnetic field magnification and high sensitivity of biomolecular detection in the THz regime. Numerical simulation demonstrates a refractive index sensitivity of 721 GHz/RIU, while experimental measurements of cell suspensions indicate a sensitivity of 400 kHz/(cell/mL). The polarization-insensitive response, analyzed through multipole decomposition theory, is attributed to the balanced electromagnetic characteristics of the structure, which ensures consistent excitation of toroidal dipoles and magnetic quadrupoles across different polarization angles. For quantitative analysis, partial least squares (PLS) and support vector regression (SVR) methods are utilized to analyze liver cell lines (HepG2 and Miha), achieving high predictive accuracy with a mean squared error of 0.083. This work circumvents the polarization dependence observed in conventional THz biosensors and proposes an innovative approach for developing high-performance biosensing devices. © 2001-2012 IEEE.
