A novel robotic visual perception framework for underwater operation

Conversational Crowdsensing: A Parallel Intelligence Powered Novel Sensing Approach

The transition from CPS-based Industry 4.0 to CPSS-based Industry 5.0 brings new requirements and opportunities to current sensing approaches, especially in light of recent progress in Chatbots and Large Language Models (LLMs). Therefore, the advancement of parallel intelligence-powered Crowdsensing Intelligence (CSI) is witnessed, which is currently advancing towards linguistic intelligence. In this paper, we propose a novel sensing paradigm, namely conversational crowdsensing, for Industry 5.0. It can alleviate workload and professional requirements of individuals and promote the organization and operation of diverse workforce, thereby facilitating faster response and wider popularization of crowdsensing systems. Specifically, we design the architecture of conversational crowdsensing to effectively organize three types of participants (biological, robotic, and digital) from diverse communities. Through three levels of effective conversation (i.e., inter-human, human-AI, and inter-AI), complex interactions and service functionalities of different workers can be achieved to accomplish various tasks across three sensing phases (i.e., requesting, scheduling, and executing). Moreover, we explore the foundational technologies for realizing conversational crowdsensing, encompassing LLM-based multi-agent systems, scenarios engineering and conversational human-AI cooperation. Finally, we present potential industrial applications of conversational crowdsensing and discuss its implications. We envision that conversations in natural language will become the primary communication channel during crowdsensing process, enabling richer information exchange and cooperative problem-solving among humans, robots, and AI. © 2024, CC BY.

In order to make up for the shortcomings of a single inertial sensor,which is easily disturbed and unable to directly describe the periodic characteristics of gait,a novel gait events detection algorithm is proposed which is based on the invariant characteristics of hip joint *** healthy volunteers conducted a walking experiment over the ground,who were equipped with motion capture device and insole with *** hip angle derived from motion capture device were applied to detect gait events,heel stride(HS) and toe off(TO).And the gait events detected by ground reactor force(GRF) were taken as the reference *** mean absolute difference of HS is 28±42 ms,and the mean absolute difference of TO is 27 ± 43 ms. And the confidence levels of the two gait events are 97.5% and 99.2%,*** results demonstrate that the proposed gait events detection algorithm is reliability and has potential clinical application value.

In urban environments, complex transportation demands, including land, air, and maritime transport, are increasingly growing. While significant advancements have been made in land transportation and autonomous driving, research on urban air mobility (UAM) systems is still in its early stages. This paper presents an innovative urban air unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) framework: AirVista, which is designed and built based on the Artificial systems, Computational experiments, and Parallel execution (ACP) approach, integrated with a multimodal large language model (MLLM) agent. Considering that UAM tasks often require UAVs to possess fine-grained spatial perception and reasoning capabilities, and given that existing MLLMs are somewhat lacking in exploring 3D spaces, this paper further proposes an instruction fine-tuning strategy integrated with 3D spatial knowledge, which has been validated experimentally for its effectiveness. Additionally, to enhance the understanding of the efficiency of MLLM for UAV tasks, this paper delves into prompt fine-tuning templates tailored for UAV task decomposition. Through experimental demonstrations, we showcase that the prompt-tuned MLLM exhibits efficient task decomposition and execution capabilities in handling complex UAV tasks.

In this study, unmanned ships test platform based on the parallel systems framework is proposed to improve the test efficiency and accuracy of unmanned ships in complex ocean environment. The parallel intelligence theory and ACP approach, the efficient interaction between virtual and real environment is achieved, which provides more comprehensive and accurate data for unmanned ships testing. Future research will further expand the scope of virtual environment simulation and improve systems accuracy and response speed to a wider range of unmanned ships test requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

In response to concerns over the centralization tendency in the decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), TRUE autonomous organizations and operations (TAOs or TRUE DAOs) have been proposed recently. TAOs aim at spreading equitable value distribution and democratized decision-making, distinguishing them from their DAOs counterparts. This study focuses on the treasury within TAOs, which acts as a central fund pool and a crucial element in the decentralized economy (DeEco) system. First, against a backdrop of potential black swan events and other long-tail unforeseen challenges, a reference model for the intelligent treasury management of TAOs is proposed. Then, an evaluation system, namely VALID, is presented with metrics including verifiability, anti-volatility, legitimacy, inclusiveness, and decentralization. Furthermore, a novel parallel treasury management mechanism is proposed to demonstrate a virtual-real interactive closed-loop management and control paradigm of the treasury, thereby fostering the formulation and development of DeEco. This research provides a comprehensive perspective on intelligent treasury management of TAOs and their role in sustainable advancement of DeEco.

Implementing cooperative scheduling of multi-home microgrid energy and reducing the dependence on the main grid have become the focus of microgrid energy management *** paper proposes a new multi-agent adaptive dynamic programming(MAADP)method for the cooperative control of distributed home *** home is defined as a learning agent that needs to reasonably schedule the energy storage system to meet the respective load demand while accomplishing cooperative scheduling among the individual *** addition,an energy clearing center(ECC)is introduced to complete the energy exchange between each microgrid to protect the benefits of all *** proposed method adopts the learning strategy of“centralized learning and decentralized execution”to avoid the leakage of private *** experimental comparison with the benchmark method verifies that the method can realize the cooperative scheduling of each home and reduce the dependence on the main grid.

An adaptive decentralized asymptotic tracking control scheme is developed in this paper for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems with unknown strong interconnections,unknown time-varying parameters,and ***,by employing the intrinsic properties of Gaussian functions for the interconnection terms for the first time,all extra signals in the framework of decentralized control are filtered out,thereby removing all additional assumptions imposed on the interconnec-tions,such as upper bounding functions and matching ***,by introducing two integral bounded functions,asymptotic tracking control is ***,the nonlinear filters with the compensation terms are introduced to circumvent the issue of“explosion of complexity”.It is shown that all the closed-loop signals are bounded and the tracking errors converge to zero *** the end,a simulation example is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
