Feature-Grounded Single-Stage Text-to-Image Generation

Recently,Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs)have become the mainstream text-to-image(T2I)***,a standard normal distribution noise of inputs cannot provide sufficient information to synthesize an image that approaches the ground-truth image ***,the multistage generation strategy results in complex T2I ***,this study proposes a novel feature-grounded single-stage T2I model,which considers the“real”distribution learned from training images as one input and introduces a worst-case-optimized similarity measure into the loss function to enhance the model's generation *** results on two benchmark datasets demonstrate the competitive performance of the proposed model in terms of the Frechet inception distance and inception score compared to those of some classical and state-of-the-art models,showing the improved similarities among the generated image,text,and ground truth.

Minimal Context-Switching Data Race Detection with Dataflow Tracking

Data race is one of the most important concurrent anomalies in multi-threaded *** con-straint-based techniques are leveraged into race detection,which is able to find all the races that can be found by any oth-er sound race ***,this constraint-based approach has serious limitations on helping programmers analyze and understand data ***,it may report a large number of false positives due to the unrecognized dataflow propa-gation of the ***,it recommends a wide range of thread context switches to schedule the reported race(in-cluding the false one)whenever this race is exposed during the constraint-solving *** ad hoc recommendation imposes too many context switches,which complicates the data race *** address these two limitations in the state-of-the-art constraint-based race detection,this paper proposes DFTracker,an improved constraint-based race detec-tor to recommend each data race with minimal thread context ***,we reduce the false positives by ana-lyzing and tracking the dataflow in the *** this means,DFTracker thus reduces the unnecessary analysis of false race *** further propose a novel algorithm to recommend an effective race schedule with minimal thread con-text switches for each data *** experimental results on the real applications demonstrate that 1)without removing any true data race,DFTracker effectively prunes false positives by 68%in comparison with the state-of-the-art constraint-based race detector;2)DFTracker recommends as low as 2.6-8.3(4.7 on average)thread context switches per data race in the real world,which is 81.6%fewer context switches per data race than the state-of-the-art constraint based race ***,DFTracker can be used as an effective tool to understand the data race for programmers.

Researchers have recently achieved significant advances in deep learning techniques, which in turn has substantially advanced other research disciplines, such as natural language processing, image processing, speech recognition, and software engineering. Various deep learning techniques have been successfully employed to facilitate software engineering tasks, including code generation, software refactoring, and fault localization. Many studies have also been presented in top conferences and journals, demonstrating the applications of deep learning techniques in resolving various software engineering tasks. However,although several surveys have provided overall pictures of the application of deep learning techniques in software engineering,they focus more on learning techniques, that is, what kind of deep learning techniques are employed and how deep models are trained or fine-tuned for software engineering tasks. We still lack surveys explaining the advances of subareas in software engineering driven by deep learning techniques, as well as challenges and opportunities in each subarea. To this end, in this study, we present the first task-oriented survey on deep learning-based software engineering. It covers twelve major software engineering subareas significantly impacted by deep learning techniques. Such subareas spread out through the whole lifecycle of software development and maintenance, including requirements engineering, software development, testing, maintenance, and developer collaboration. As we believe that deep learning may provide an opportunity to revolutionize the whole discipline of software engineering, providing one survey covering as many subareas as possible in software engineering can help future research push forward the frontier of deep learning-based software engineering more systematically. Code review is a critical process in software development, contributing to the overall quality of the product by identifying errors early. A key aspect of this process is the selection of appropriate reviewers to scrutinize changes made to source code. However, in large-scale open-source projects, selecting the most suitable reviewers for a specific change can be a challenging task. To address this, we introduce the Code Context Based Reviewer Recommendation (CCB-RR), a model that leverages information from changesets to recommend the most suitable reviewers. The model takes into consideration the paths of modified files and the context derived from the changesets, including their titles and descriptions. Additionally, CCB-RR employs KeyBERT to extract the most relevant keywords and compare the semantic similarity across changesets. The model integrates the paths of modified files, keyword information, and the context of code changes to form a comprehensive picture of the changeset. We conducted extensive experiments on four open-source projects, demonstrating the effectiveness of CCB-RR. The model achieved a Top-1 accuracy of 60%, 55%, 51%, and 45% on the Android, OpenStack, QT, and LibreOffice projects respectively. For Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR), CCB achieved 71%, 62%, 52%, and 68% on the same projects respectively, thereby highlighting its potential for practical application in code reviewer recommendation.

Highly anti-corrosive NiFe LDHs–NiFe alloy hybrid enables long-term stable alkaline seawater electrolysis

Owing to the significant potential of alkalin seawater electrolysis for converting surplus power into eco friendly hydrogen fuel,we developed bifunctional elec trodes that integrate low-crystalline NiFe LDHs and amorphous NiFe alloy on a Ni foam(NF)substrate to enhance this *** by the battery-like charac teristics of NiFe LDHs,an anti-corrosive and active oute layer of NiFe^(vac)OOH continuously forms over time in th hybrid on the anode for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER),effectively mitigating powder shedding caused by corrosion induced by multiple anions in *** while,the strong bond between the hybrid and the NF substrate maintains intact hybrid coatings to ensure a rel atively high overall conductivity of the electrodes,signif icantly reducing the negative effects of structura degradation during the OER and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),as well as the accumulation of contami nants on the electrode *** long-term tests,thes bifunctionalhybridelectrodesmaintained stable performance,even at a high current density o500 mA·cm^(-2).The cell voltage increased by only 88 m V over 1000 h to 1.970 V during saline electrolysis and by103 mV over 500 h to 2.062 V during seawater electroly ***,this study provides valuable insights into efficient and stable seawater electrolysis using NiFe LDHs–NiFe alloy hybrids.

Dual-Task Contrastive Meta-Learning for Few-Shot Cross-Domain Emotion Recognition

Emotion recognition plays a crucial role in various fields and is a key task in natural language processing (NLP). The objective is to identify and interpret emotional expressions in text. However, traditional emotion recognition approaches often struggle in few-shot cross-domain scenarios due to their limited capacity to generalize semantic features across different domains. Additionally, these methods face challenges in accurately capturing complex emotional states, particularly those that are subtle or implicit. To overcome these limitations, we introduce a novel approach called Dual-Task Contrastive Meta-Learning (DTCML). This method combines meta-learning and contrastive learning to improve emotion recognition. Meta-learning enhances the model’s ability to generalize to new emotional tasks, while instance contrastive learning further refines the model by distinguishing unique features within each category, enabling it to better differentiate complex emotional expressions. Prototype contrastive learning, in turn, helps the model address the semantic complexity of emotions across different domains, enabling the model to learn fine-grained emotions expression. By leveraging dual tasks, DTCML learns from two domains simultaneously, the model is encouraged to learn more diverse and generalizable emotions features, thereby improving its cross-domain adaptability and robustness, and enhancing its generalization ability. We evaluated the performance of DTCML across four cross-domain settings, and the results show that our method outperforms the best baseline by 5.88%, 12.04%, 8.49%, and 8.40% in terms of accuracy.

Hybrid IT? Algorithm for Large-Scale Colored Traveling Salesman Problem

In the fields of intelligent transportation and multi-task cooperation, many practical problems can be modeled by colored traveling salesman problem(CTSP). When solving large-scale CTSP with a scale of more than 1000dimensions, their convergence speed and the quality of their solutions are limited. This paper proposes a new hybrid IT?(HIT?) algorithm, which integrates two new strategies, crossover operator and mutation strategy, into the standard IT?. In the iteration process of HIT?, the feasible solution of CTSP is represented by the double chromosome coding, and the random drift and wave operators are used to explore and develop new unknown regions. In this process, the drift operator is executed by the improved crossover operator, and the wave operator is performed by the optimized mutation strategy. Experiments show that HIT? is superior to the known comparison algorithms in terms of the quality solution.

A survey on cross-user federated recommendation

Recommender systems are effective in mitigating information overload, yet the centralized storage of user data raises significant privacy concerns. Cross-user federated recommendation(CUFR) provides a promising distributed paradigm to address these concerns by enabling privacy-preserving recommendations directly on user devices. In this survey, we review and categorize current progress in CUFR, focusing on four key aspects: privacy, security, accuracy, and efficiency. Firstly,we conduct an in-depth privacy analysis, discuss various cases of privacy leakage, and then review recent methods for privacy protection. Secondly, we analyze security concerns and review recent methods for untargeted and targeted *** untargeted attack methods, we categorize them into data poisoning attack methods and parameter poisoning attack methods. For targeted attack methods, we categorize them into user-based methods and item-based methods. Thirdly,we provide an overview of the federated variants of some representative methods, and then review the recent methods for improving accuracy from two categories: data heterogeneity and high-order information. Fourthly, we review recent methods for improving training efficiency from two categories: client sampling and model compression. Finally, we conclude this survey and explore some potential future research topics in CUFR.
