Superior triethylamine-sensing properties based on SnO2 hollow nanospheres synthesized via one-step process

Due to serious harm of triethylamine（TEA） to environmental safety and human health, it is significant to synthesize gas-sensitive materials with high performance for TEA detection. However, it is still a challenge to achieve high-sensitivity detection of TEA at low temperature for a sensor synthesized through an economical and efficient method. In this work, hollow-structured SnO2（HS-SnO2） nanospheres have been fabricated by a facile, low-cost hydrothermal method in one step, which exhibit superior TEA-sensing properties, including not only ultrahigh response（127.75） for 100 ppm TEA, good selectivity, but also fast response and recovery time（17/28 s）, low detection threshold（1 ppm） and robust stability at a relatively low optimum operational temperature of 225°*** excellent gas-sensitizing performances are ascribed to porous hollow structures with rich oxygen vacancies that provide abundant active sites for raising O2adsorption and reaction of TEA and oxygen species. This work offers an effective and economical strategy for fabricating high-performance TEA sensors for industrial applications.

Si-based thermoelectric(TE)materials are exhibiting remarkable perspectives in self-energized applications with their special ***,the relatively high total thermal conductivity(κ)prevents their TE ***,a strategy of co-compositing dual oxides was implemented for enhancing the TE properties of p-type Si_(80)Ge_(20) *** Ga2O_(3) was demonstrated to enhance the power factor(PF)due to the crystallization-induced effect of produced Ga by decomposition on SiGe *** with compositing SiO_(2) aerogel(a-SiO_(2))powder,not only introduced the fine amorphous inclusions and decreased the grain size of host matrix,but also various nano morphologies were formed,i.e.,nano inclusions,precipitations,twin boundaries(TBs),and *** with the eutectic Ge,hierarchical scattering centers impeded the phonon transport comprehensively(decreasing the phonon group velocity(a v)and relaxation time)for reducing the lattice-induced thermal conductivity(lκ).As a result,a minimumκof 2.38 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1) was achieved,which is significantly dropped by 32.6%in contrast with that of the pristine ***,a maximal dimensionless figure of merit(ZT)of 0.9 was achieved at 600℃,which is better than those of most corresponding oxide-composited Si-based bulks.

A framework of force of information influence and application for C4KISR system

The subversive nature of information war lies not only in the information itself, but also in the circulation and application of information. It has always been a challenge to quantitatively analyze the function and effect of information flow through command, control, communications, computer, kill, intelligence,surveillance, reconnaissance (C4KISR) system. In this work, we propose a framework of force of information influence and the methods for calculating the force of information influence between C4KISR nodes of sensing, intelligence processing,decision making and fire attack. Specifically, the basic concept of force of information influence between nodes in C4KISR system is formally proposed and its mathematical definition is provided. Then, based on the information entropy theory, the model of force of information influence between C4KISR system nodes is constructed. Finally, the simulation experiments have been performed under an air defense and attack scenario. The experimental results show that, with the proposed force of information influence framework, we can effectively evaluate the contribution of information circulation through different C4KISR system nodes to the corresponding tasks. Our framework of force of information influence can also serve as an effective tool for the design and dynamic reconfiguration of C4KISR system architecture.

Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.

Effects of Mg-doping temperature on the structural and electrical properties of nonpolar a-plane p-type GaN films

Nonpolar(11–20) a-plane p-type GaN films were successfully grown on r-plane sapphire substrate with the metal–organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD) system. The effects of Mg-doping temperature on the structural and electrical properties of nonpolar p-type GaN films were investigated in detail. It is found that all the surface morphology, crystalline quality, strains, and electrical properties of nonpolar a-plane p-type GaN films are interconnected, and are closely related to the Mg-doping temperature. This means that a proper performance of nonpolar p-type GaN can be expected by optimizing the Mg-doping temperature. In fact, a hole concentration of 1.3×10^(18)cm^(-3), a high Mg activation efficiency of 6.5%,an activation energy of 114 me V for Mg acceptor, and a low anisotropy of 8.3% in crystalline quality were achieved with a growth temperature of 990℃. This approach to optimizing the Mg-doping temperature of the nonpolar a-plane p-type GaN film provides an effective way to fabricate high-efficiency optoelectronic devices in the future.

Effect of gamma-ray irradiation on electrical conductivity of polypropylene composite for nuclear cable insulation

In this paper,the effect of gamma-ray irradiation on the electrical conductivity of polypropylene(PP)composites has been *** samples are prepared using PP and styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene elastomer with contents ranging from 0 wt%to 50 wt%,and exposed to Cobalt-60 gamma irradiation,with a dose from 0 to 250 *** conductivities at different temperatures and trap distributions are measured to observe the deterioration of insulation *** microstructure of the sample is estimated using differential scanning calorimetry,X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis and a scanning electron *** obtained results demonstrate a correlation between the increase in electrical conductivity and the elevation in both total dose and *** 250 kGy,the trap distribution tends to become shallower,accompanied by a decrease in crystallinity,melting and decomposition temperatures of the *** PP composite exhibits better stability against irradiation and thermal effects,primarily due to the cross-linked structures formed by irradiation.

Structure-Sensitive Graph Dictionary Embedding for Graph Classification

Graph structure expression plays a vital role in distinguishing various graphs. In this work, we propose a structure-sensitive graph dictionary embedding (SS-GDE) framework to transform input graphs into the embedding space of a graph dictionary for the graph classification task. Instead of a plain use of a base graph dictionary, we propose the variational graph dictionary adaptation (VGDA) to generate a personalized dictionary (named adapted graph dictionary) for catering to each input graph. In particular, for the adaptation, the Bernoulli sampling is introduced to adjust substructures of base graph keys according to each input, which increases the expression capacity of the base dictionary tremendously. To make cross-graph measurement sensitive as well as stable, multisensitivity Wasserstein encoding is proposed to produce the embeddings by designing multiscale attention on optimal transport. To optimize the framework, we introduce mutual information as the objective, which further deduces variational inference of the adapted graph dictionary. We perform our SS-GDE on multiple datasets of graph classification, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority over the state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

From Perception to Action:Brain-to-Brain information Transmission of Pigeons

Along with the flourishing of brain-computer interface technology,the brain-to-brain information transmission between different organisms has received high attention in recent ***,specific information transmission mode and implementation technology need to be further *** this paper,we constructed a brain-to-brain information transmission system between pigeons based on the neural information decoding and electrical stimulation encoding *** system consists of three parts:(1)the“perception pigeon”learns to distinguish different visual stimuli with two discrepant frequencies,(2)the computer decodes the stimuli based on the neural signals recorded from the“perception pigeon”through a frequency identification algorithm(neural information decoding)and encodes them into different kinds of electrical pulses,(3)the“action pigeon”receives the Intracortical Microstimulation(ICMS)and executes corresponding key-pecking actions through discriminative learning(electrical stimulation encoding).The experimental results show that our brain-to-brain system achieves information transmission from perception to action between two pigeons with the average accuracy of about 72%.Our study verifies the feasibility of information transmission between inter-brain based on neural information decoding and ICMS encoding,providing important technical methods and experimental program references for the development of brain-to-brain communication technology.

Modelling and simulation study on dynamic pollution accumulation process of composite insulator

With the widespread application of composite insulators in transmission lines,exploring the accumulation mechanism of pollution particles on composite insulator surfaces is of importance to ensure the safe and steady operation of the power *** the current theoretical shortcomings,this study categorises the accumulation process of particles on the insulator surface into three stages,namely‘spatial motion’,‘surface collision’,and‘surface motion’.The motion and rotation velocities in a multi-physics field are calculated in the spatial motion *** the surface collision stage,a parameter called‘neck height’is introduced to determine the optimum mechanics theory,and the normal deposition criterion is *** the surface motion stage,the sliding displacement and rolling displacement on the surface are calculated based on the rotation speed of the particles.A dynamic pollution accumulation model of the composite insulator is estab-lished based on the normal deposition criterion and tangential ***,numerical simulations are performed by using the finite element *** results show that the proposed model agrees with the actual insulator pollution accu-mulation,and the deposition model is still applicable for various types of composite insulators operating in different applied *** deposition probability of particles increases with the increasing particle *** the surface motion stage,particle displacement increases with particle size and wind velocity.
