Triggered spark-gap switch is a popular discharge switch for pulse power *** studies have focused on planarizing this switch using thin film techniques in order to meet the requirements of compact size in the *** switches are one-shot due to electrodes being too thin to sufficiently resist ***,these switches did not employ any structures in securing internal gas composition,resulting in inconsistent performance under harsh *** this work,a novel planar triggered spark-gap switch(PTS)with a hermetically sealed cavity was batched-prepared with printed circuit board(PCB)technology,to achieve reusability with low *** proposed PTS was inspected by micro-computed tomography to ensure PCB techniques meet the requirements of machining *** results from electrical experiments demonstrated that PCB PTS were consistent and reusable with lifespan over 20 *** calculated switch voltage and circuit current were consistent with those derived from real-world ***,PCB PTS was used to introduce hexanitrostilbene(HNS)pellets in a pulse power system to verify its performance.

For the regional search problem of multiple unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) ,a cooperative search strategy of multiple UAVs is proposed based on action matrix game (AMG) for intelligent moving targets on the ground in this paper. Based on the proposed AMG, the yaw angle and position information of the target is described in probability matrix, and the matrix is updated by Nash equilibrium and receding horizon control in every control cycle. Simulation results show that this strategy deduces the searching time for revisiting the reference target, and improves the success rate for moving targets searching. © 2022 IEEE.

The adsorption of protein molecules to oil/water(O/W)interface is of critical importance for the product design in a wide range of technologies and industries such as biotechnology,food industry and pharmaceutical *** this work,with ovalbumin(OVA)as the model protein,the adsorption conformations at the O/W interface and the adsorption stability have been systematically studied via multiple simulation methods,including all-atom molecular dynamic(AAMD)simulations,coarse-grained molecular dynamic(CGMD)simulations and enhanced sampling *** computational results of AAMD and CGMD show that the hydrophobic tail of OVA tends to be folded under long time relaxation in aqueous phase,and multiple adsorption conformations can exist at the interface due to heterogeneous interactions raising from oil and water *** further study the adsorption sites of the protein,the adsorption kinetics of OVA at the O/W interface is simulated using metadynamics method combined with CGMD simulations,and the result suggests the existence of multiple adsorption conformations of OVA at interface with the head-on conformation as the most stable *** all,this work focuses on the adsorption behaviors of OVA at squalene/water interface,and provides a theoretical basis for further functionalization of the proteins in emulsion-based products and engineering.

Enhanced magnetic properties in chemically inhomogeneous Nd-Dy-Fe-B sintered magnets by multi-main-phase process

Homogeneous substitution of Dy for Nd in the hard magnetic 2:14:1 phase can effectively enhance coercivity to ensure the high temperature operation,however,inevitably deteriorate remanence at *** this work,we performed a comparative investigation of the two magnets prepared by multimain-phase(co-sintering Nd_(2)Fe_(14)B and(Nd,Dy)_(2)Fe_(14)B powders)and single-main-phase(sintering(Nd,Dy)_(2)Fe_(14)B powders)*** comparative investigation reveals that at the same Dy substitution level(2.16 wt%),such chemically inhomogeneous multi-main-phase magnet possesses better roomtemperature magnetic properties as well as thermal stability than those of the single-main-phase one with homogenous Dy distribution in the matrix ***-temperature magnetic properties H_(Cj)=1664 kA/m,B_(r)=1.33 T and(BH)_(max)=350.4 kJ/m^(3)for the multi-main-phase magnet are all better than those for the single-main-phase magnet with H_(Cj)=1536 kA/m,B_(r)=1.29 T and(BH)_(max)=318.4 kj/m^(3).In addition,over the temperature range from 295 to 423 K,both the temperature coefficients of coercivity and remanence for the multi-main-phase magnet are also lower than that for the single-main-phase *** superior magnetic performance is attributed to the short-range magnetic interactions inside individual 2:14:1 phase grains and the long-range magnetostatic interactions between adjacent grains with inhomogeneous Dy *** work provides a feasible approach of enhancing coercivity and retaining energy product simultaneously in the Nd-Dy-Fe-B permanent magnets.

The distributed fault-tolerant consensus control using k-step hierarchical protocol for linear multi-agent system (MAS) is studied in this note. Unlike most existing fault-tolerant methods for compensating actuator fault, a hierarchical protocol consisting of a virtual layer and a actual layer that considers both fault compensation and introducing fault information into the trajectory planning process which means that the motion of the MAS does not exceed the fault-tolerant compensation range of the faulty agent is proposed. Trajectory planning is responsible for the virtual layer consisting of virtual agent system and a co-controller that introduces fault information. The actual layer, consisting of the actual agent system, actuator fault observer, and tracking trajectory controller, traces the virtual layer for consensus. It is shown that the integrity of the MAS is guaranteed. Finally, the validity of the developed protocols is illustrated by simulation examples. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Within the realm of computer vision, the detection of defects holds significant importance for industrial production and quality assurance. However, current object detection methods encounter notable challenges when tasked with defect detection, including high inter-class similarity and substantial intra-class variability. These challenges restrict the performance of conventional approaches, leading to imprecise defect detection and localization. In response to these limitations, this study proposes a novel real-time, end-to-end defect detection approach based on a single-stage detection algorithm. Our method introduces several innovations to address these challenges and significantly enhance defect detection capabilities. Firstly, we develop a pioneering cross-layer feature aggregation method, enabling the network to effectively capture intricate defect patterns and improve its adaptability to defect detection tasks. Additionally, we introduce an attention-enhanced decoupled head, which prioritizes critical features while optimizing computational efficiency. Through comprehensive testing on the NEU-DET defect detection dataset, our approach demonstrates remarkable performance gains over conventional object detection methods. Notably, our method achieves an impressive detection speed of 68 FPS while surpassing existing methods in terms of detection accuracy. These results highlight the practical significance of our approach, meeting the stringent requirements of industrial production for both accuracy and speed. Furthermore, the efficacy and robustness of our method are further validated using the GC10-DET dataset, underscoring its potential for real-world applications across diverse industrial settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Biotransformation of bis(2-chloroethyl)2-chloroethylphosphphonate, and its effects on metabolism of lipid molecules in primary mouse hepatocytes

Bis(2-chloroethyl)2-chloroethylphosphphonate (B2CE2CEPP) was recently reported as a contaminant in underground water samples, however, information regarding its biotransformation and adverse effects is relatively rare. In this study, B2CE2CEPP and tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP;a typical organophosphate triester with a very similar structure as compared to B2CE2CEPP) were used as target contaminants to comparatively investigate their cytotoxicity, biotransformation, and alteration of lipid metabolism by use of an in vitro primary hepatocyte assay of ICR mice. This study aims to thoroughly investigate the cytotoxicity, biotransformation, and lipid metabolism effects of B2CE2CEPP and TCEP on primary hepatocytes of ICR mice, in order to reveal the potential health risks of these two organophosphorus compounds. The results showed that both B2CE2CEPP and TCEP were cytotoxic with LC50 values of 456 μM (B2CE2CEPP) and 1250 μM (TCEP), respectively. Both compounds underwent significant metabolic transformation follow exposure to primary mouse hepatocytes (PMHs), and a total of 4 potential metabolites were identified based on high-resolution orbitrap mass spectrometry technique. Exposure to TCEP and B2CE2CEPP led to lipid metabolism disorders in PMHs. TG (16:0/16:1/18:1) showed high sensitivity to B2CE2CEPP exposure and exhibited a significant upregulation trend, making it a potential biomarker significantly influenced by B2CE2CEPP exposure. Lipidomic analysis showed that B2CE2CEPP affected lipid metabolic pathways including thiamine metabolism, one carbon pool by folate, and folatesteroid hormone biosynthesis. The present study filled a knowledge gap in the current research on the biotransformation and adverse effects of B2CE2CEPP, and emphasized the importance on consistent monitoring of B2CE2CEPP and its structure-like compounds in various environmental samples. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Polarization is crucial in various fields such as imaging,sensing,and substance detection.A compact,fast,and accurate polarization detection device is vital for these ***,we demonstrate a multifocus metalens for terahertz polarization detection that requires only a single measurement to obtain complete polarization parameters and reconstruct the polarization state of the incident *** individual subarrays of this metalens convert each of the six polarized components into the same polarization,which in turn links the Stokes parameters to these six *** incident linear polarizations and elliptical polarizations are characterized by Stokes parameters and polarization *** and experimental results show that the scheme can accurately detect the incident polarization with a single *** proposed metasurface polarimetry may find applications in the fields of real-time terahertz detection and integrated optics.

In this paper, we present fast encoding algorithms for Hermitian codes based on the Lin-Chung-Han fast Fourier transform (LCH-FFT). For non-systematic encoding, we extend the LCH basis to the bivariate polynomial space and develop a two-dimensional FFT algorithm. For systematic encoding, we propose a modified partial FFT algorithm and present a procedure for computing the unknown intermediates. For a Hermitian code of length n, the computational complexity of the presented non-systematic and systematic encoding algorithms are both O(nlogn), improving upon the currently best-known encoding complexity O(nlog2n loglogn). © 2023 IEEE.

Microbial cell factories (MCFs) are typical and widely used platforms in biomanufacturing for designing and constructingsynthesis pathways of target compounds in microorganisms. In MCFs, transporter engineering is especially significant forimproving the biomanufacturing efficiency and capacity through enhancing substrate absorption, promoting intracellular masstransfer of intermediate metabolites, and improving transmembrane export of target products. This review discusses thecurrent methods and strategies of mining and characterizing suitable transporters and presents the cases of transporterengineering in the production of various chemicals in MCFs.
