It is a challenge for passive RFID tags to be mounted on the surface of metal because the parameters of tag antennas,such as the impedance matching,the radiation efficiency and the radiation pattern,are seriously affected by the metallic *** paper presents the characteristics of the dipole-like antennas of ultra high frequency(UHF) radio frequency identification(RFID) tags that are placed close to metallic *** finite element method(FEM) and method of moment(MoM) were used to simulate the changes of the antenna parameters near the metallic *** typical dipole-like antennas close to the metallic surface,a closed loop antenna and a loaded meander antenna,were modeled,and the performance was *** was carried out and the results were in good agreement with the simulation,showing that a distance of 0.05λ~0.1λ(λ is the free space wavelength) from the metallic surface could make the dipole-like UHF RFID tag performance be acceptable.

Toxic and bloom-forming cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa was exposed to antialgal allelochemical gramine (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8 mg·L-1), The effects of gramine on photosynthetic pigments (lipid soluble: chlorophyll a and β-carotene;water soluble: phycocyanin, allophycocyanin, phycoerythrin, and total phycobilins) and absorption spectra were studied in order to identify the most sensitive pigment probe implicating the crucial suppression site on photosynthetic apparatus. The results obtained indicated that all pigment parameters were decreased with gramine concentration increasing and exposure time extending. The above serious bleaching of pigments was also reflected on the scanning results of absorption spectra. Phycoerytherin exhibited the highest sensitivity to gramine added, following by the largest relative decrease. It was concluded that gramine seriously influenced algal photosynthetic activity by destroying photosynthetic pigments and phycoerythrin most sensitive to gramine might be contributed to its placing the outside of phycobilins.

In this study, inhibition of Microcystis aeruginosa by antialgal alleochemical gramine, was studied by analyzing algal metabolic activity (represented by esterase and total dehydrogenase activities) and cell ultrastructure (showing morphological and ultrastructure alterations using transmission electron microscopy and DNA ladder analysis). After gramine exposure, esterase and total dehydrogenase activities were increased firstly but decreased later. In contrast with the controls, the cells exposed to gramine showed apparent ultrastructure alterations with thylakoids in breakage, phycobilins in decrease, lipid and cyanophycin granules abundant firstly but dissolved afterwards, DNA in fragementation. The occurrence of increase of metabolic activity and specific granules reflected that the resistance of cellular response to gramine was initiated. DNA fragementation associated with the increase of metabolic activity and specific granules hinted that gramine caused M. aeruginosa cells to initiate some morphotype of programmed cell death.

In this paper, we formulate multi-channel assignment in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) as an optimization problem and show it is NP-hard. We then propose a distributed Game Based Channel Assignment algorithm (GBCA) to solve the problem. GBCA takes into account both the network topology information and transmission routing information. We prove that there exists at least one Nash Equilibrium in the channel assignment game. Furthermore, we analyze the sub-optimality of Nash Equilibrium and the convergence of the Best Response in the game. Simulation results are given to demonstrate that GBCA can reduce interference significantly and achieve satisfactory network performance in terms of delivery ratio, throughput, channel access delay and energy consumption.

PID controller has simple structure and easy applicability with strong performance robustness. Decentralized PID controller and decoupling PID controller are widely adopted in the control of two-input-two-output (TITO) processes. Firstly, a simple decoupling controller matrix and a desired dynamic decoupling controller matrix are designed according to the idea of coupling matrix. And then three schemes of controller including decentralized PID controller, simple PID decoupling controller and desired dynamic PID decoupling controller are provided based on the excellent characteristic of DDE. Lastly, the Monte-Carlo stochastic experiment is introduced to analyze performance robustness of the controllers. The simulation experiments illustrate that the simple decoupling control scheme has the ability of complete decoupling and better performance robustness.

To enhance power output and reduce cost for practical application of microbial fuel cell (MFC), extensive experiments have done to study performance optimization of lab-made mediator-less MFC. Saccharomyces cerevisiae was first tamed to investigate electrical adaptability as electricigens during device operation. By analyzing open circuit voltage using anodes with different materials, iron anode was proved to be the most suitable material for its highly electrochemical activity and bargain price. The results of experiment also proved that the performance of MFC could be reinforced through increasing roughness of anodes. Furthermore, electrical adaptability of electricigens would be enhanced after taming was confirmed.

This paper discusses tracking control problem with a discrete-time multi-agent system with active leader and quantized communication constraints. For the active leader in a general linear form, we give a distributed design for each discrete-time agent in the leader tracking control problem and analyze the tracking convergence with the help of Riccati equation and common Lyapunov function when the communication channel is perfect. Then a stochastic quantization strategy is applied to model the information transmission in the agent coordination and the corresponding solution is also given, even if the interconnection topology is switching.
