The novel phase change materials Si-Sb-Te films were prepared. The crystallization temperature of films increases with the increasing of Si concentration. Phase separation was observed in the Si-Sb-Te films, the dominant phase is Sb2Te3. The melting temperature of Si-Sb-Te decreased to ~550°C lower than 640°C of Ge2Sb2Te5. The decrease of film thickness of Si-Sb-Te films is less than 2% after annealing at 400°C, which is less than ~7% of the film thickness change of Ge2Sb2Te5 film. The crystalline resistivity of Si-Sb-Te films increased and the ratio of amorphous/crystalline resistivity of Si-Sb-Te films increased also comparing with Ge2Sb2Te5 film, which is benefit to reduce the writing current and keep higher on/off ratio of phase change memory. Reversible switch was performed in the devices with Si-Sb-Te films. The device with Si14.3Sb28.6Te57.2 film can be programmed with a 100 ns SET pulse and a 20 ns RESET pulse. The Reset current is only 1.37mA for a 10μm-sized device.

Tension control system for spin-draw-winder used in vacuum coating

A novel technique has been successfully developed to automatically control the membrane tension induced by the spin-draw-winder used in vacuum coating on polymer materials on industrial scale. First, the realistic tension of different sheet materials was modeled and simulated;next, the major impacts on tension were analyzed, and finally, an indirect tension control algorithm was developed. On the basis of the simulation, a dedicated tension control system was designed, constructed and tested, which turns out to be capable of setting up and control of the sheet tension. The tension control unit was repeatedly tested in vacuum coating on a variety of plastic materials with satisfactory results. Its strengths include easy operation, simple structure, high control precision, fast response, and good stability.

Existing graph-based ranking methods for keyphrase extraction compute a single importance score for each word via a single random walk. Motivated by the fact that both documents and words can be represented by a mixture of semantic topics, we propose to decompose traditional random walk into multiple random walks specific to various topics. We thus build a Topical PageRank (TPR) on word graph to measure word importance with respect to different topics. After that, given the topic distribution of the document, we further calculate the ranking scores of words and extract the top ranked ones as keyphrases. Experimental results show that TPR outperforms state-of-the-art keyphrase extraction methods on two datasets under various evaluation metrics. © 2010 Association for Computational Linguistics.

The image data are obtained by a variety of multimedia, information equipment, which include amount of information, extensive coverage, and redundancy in ubiquitous computing paradigm. In order to make use of these information reasonably and efficiently, it is necessary to fuse such massive data, therefore the multi-sensor image information fusion become a key technology to ubiquitous computing. A new approach of image data fusion based on fuzzy neural network (FNN) is presented in this paper. Here, neural network is a parallel information processing model, there are more adaptive and self-organization, and can accomplish the complexity of real-time computing and mass data retrieval, it demonstrate its unique superiority of image understanding, pattern recognition and the handling of incomplete information. In the new approach, fuzzy theory has the advantages such as: easy-to-understand, flexible and inclusive of non-precise data, as well as using expert knowledge and based on the natural language. The fuzzy neural network system developed by us has used in multi-sensor image fusion, proved that the fusion is fast, effective, good, and can meet the real-time requirements of ubiquitous computing. ©2010 IEEE.

Radical frequency (RF) measurement has become hot point in field of partial discharge detection. However, a big problem that hampers the application of this method is difficult to establish a relationship between data from RF measurement and apparent discharge quantity, that is, use RF signal to estimate the apparent discharge. In this paper, on the basis of the experiment model of metal protrusion, the relationship between RF measurement and pulse current method (IEC60270) was investigated. The relationship curves of energy, double integration, peak voltage, peak-peak voltage, area of the RF signal relative to apparent discharge quantity or the square of apparent discharge quantity were plotted and the optimal regression curve was found out. At the same time, the impacts of voltage and the distance between protrusion and plate were investigated as well. The results indicate that the optimal regression curve is energy of RF signal relative to square of apparent discharge quantity. The variation of voltage has no impact on the regression curve, that is, data from different voltage regress to one line. However, while the distance between protrusion and plate is changed, the slope of regression curve changes according to it and the same energy is corresponding to bigger discharge quantity. The results are valuable to be applied in the field of estimation of the discharge quantity of RF partial discharge signal. ©2010 IEEE.

Improving detection definition is a pivotal problem for intrusion detection. Many intelligent algorithms were used to improve the detection rate and reduce the false rate. Traditional SOM cannot provide the precise clustering results to us, while traditional K-Means depends on the initial value serious and it is difficult to find the center of cluster easily. Therefore, in this paper we introduce a new algorithm, first, we use SOM gained roughly clusters and center of clusters, then, using K-Means refine the clustering in the SOM stage. At last of this paper we take KDD CUP-99 dataset to test the performance of the new algorithm. The new algorithm overcomes the defects of traditional algorithms effectively. Experimental results show that the new algorithm has a good stability of efficiency and clustering accuracy. © 2010 IEEE.

A dynamic range boosting (DRB) technique is proposed in this paper. By applying this technique, the designed pipelined analog-to-digital converter could sample a wide dynamic range analog input, which is even larger than the output swing of the opamp used in SHA and MDAC. A 13b 5MS/s pipelined A/D converter based on single stage telescopic opamps is implemented and achieves a dynamic range up to 2.4VPP, while its supply voltage is 1.8V. © 2010 IEEE.

The performance of the large power AC drive system for rolling mills should meet the need of production technology and adapt to the requirement of the electric network. AC-AC converters have been successfully applied in the large power main drives for rolling mills being low speed and large torque. But in the drive systems for cold rolling mills being high speed, AC-DC-AC converter systems should be used. In the paper, the large power three-level AC-DC-AC converter system with IGCTs is introduced. And the switching process of IGCT is considered. Then with a series of experiments, the property of the converter is examined. The experiment result indicates the converter reaches the design requirement and it shows excellent performance. The three-level AC-DC-AC converter system with IGCTs whose rated power is 7. 5MVA has been developed and put into use. And it is estimated that the AC-DC-AC converter system will be used in the drive for rolling mills in the near future.

With the development of new insulation materials, vegetable oil-the best substitute for mineral oil-has gradually been widely used in the liquid insulation of transformers. To investigate the influence of vegetable oil on the thermal aging rate of oil paper, Kraft paper impregnated with mineral oil and vegetable oil underwent thermally accelerated aging at three different temperatures. Degree Polymerization (DP) of Kraft paper was measured to indicate the aging degree of insulation paper. The aging rate of paper in mineral oil and vegetable oil was compared quantitatively, and results showed that vegetable oil retarded paper's degradation rate and extended its useful lifetime. The reasons contributing to such phenomenon were analyzed using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and molecular simulation software. Due to the larger interaction force between water and natural ester molecules, water molecule was easily bonded with natural ester, weakening the hydrolysis process of cellulose. Cellulose was chemically modified by natural ester during thermal aging process, and the reactive - OH (hydroxyl) groups on the cellulose became esterified with fatty acid esters. The water molecule was firmly bounded to the ester groups on glucose produced by esterification. The long-chain fatty acid esterified to cellulose was parallel with cellulose chains and acted as a "water barrier" to further weaken the hydrolysis process. ©2010 IEEE.

This paper designs and makes up a wireless monitoring and control system based on the wireless communication with several single chips and the nRF905 modules. Transferring data and instructions via wireless interface, the system can control the opening and closing operation of a high voltage circuit breaker and measure the characteristic parameters. The reliability tests on the system under a series of typical interferes in vacuum switch cabinets are carried out. Parallel experiments on the data communication demonstrators without EMI are also conducted for comparison. Furthermore, signal intensity experiments is designed to review the wireless communication effect with different distances. By the tests designed and conducted, it is confirmed that the wireless measure and control system designed to monitor and control the high voltage circuit breaker is feasible. ©2010 IEEE.
