Achieving high-energy-density crown-like polymeric nitrogen cr-N via chelate CeN8

Polymeric nitrogen materials are the crown of high energy density materials due to their environmental friendliness. Here, we proposed a general strategy to achieve crown-like polymeric nitrogen（cr-N） by combining high-pressure and chemical exfoliation methods. Using the first-principle structure search, we demonstrated that the cerium（Ce） atoms can effectively open the N≡N bond of N2at a moderate pressure of 25.7 GPa, and then the layered chelate P1-CeN8with the crown-like N18ring is formed via the ligand effect of metallic Ce. Interestingly, when released to ambient conditions, P1-CeN8can still maintain good stability due to robust N–N bonds; meanwhile, the interaction strength between the Ce atoms and N18ring decreases. As a result,Ce atoms can be selectively removed by alkaline anions, and the dynamic progresses are presented, which is similar to the synthesis of MXenes via the alkali intercalation exfoliation method, and then crown-like polymeric nitrogen cr-N is formed. The cr-N is proved to be dynamically, mechanically, and thermally stable at ambient conditions. Moreover, the excellent gravimetric energy density, detonation pressure, and detonation velocity of cr-N make it a significant high-energy density material. This work opens a new general avenue to realize polymeric nitrogen via high-pressure and chemical exfoliation methods.

DBDB: de-bimodal defocus blur in joint infrared-visible imaging

Despite the recent accomplishments in joint infrared-visible imaging, the bimodal defocus blur (BDB) phenomenon received scant attention. Our analysis reveals that BDB is predominantly attributable to disparities in optical parameters between cameras, resulting in two primary challenges: incomplete single-modal information and difficulty in cross-modal information interaction. With regard to the former, the infrared modality is the primary victim, as the deblurring networks’ bias toward high-frequency results in erroneous low-frequency reconstruction (e.g., over-sharpening). In the latter case, the relative nature of the blur effect can lead to ambiguity in determining which modality’s information should be prioritized for guidance, and conflicts may arise between the clear components of the blurred image and the blurry components of the clear image. To address these issues, we propose the first de-bimodal defocus blur (DBDB) method, which consists of a low-frequency semantic hold (LSH) module with a pre-trained infrared model and a cross-modal complementary feature induction (CCFI) module driven by a max-min blur entropy loss. LSH is designed to ensure that the low-frequency information captured by the infrared modality does not contain any misleading data, while CCFI facilitates the acquisition of accurate information by means of adaptive adjustment and the loss function. The experimental results of deblurring and downstream tasks on two synthetic datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method. © The Author(s) 2025.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are one of the most compelling alternatives of lithium-ion batteries due to their inherent safety and economics *** response to the growing demand for green and sustainable energy storage solutions,organic electrodes with the scalability from inexpensive starting materials and potential for biodegradation after use have become a prominent choice for *** gratifying progresses of organic molecules with electrochemical performance in AZIBs,the research is still in infancy and hampered by certain issues due to the underlying complex *** for designing organic electrode materials for AZIBs with high specific capacity and long cycling life are discussed in detail in this ***,we put emphasis on the unique electrochemistry of different redox-active structures to provide in-depth understanding of their working *** addition,we highlight the importance of molecular size/dimension regarding their profound impact on electrochemical ***,challenges and perspectives are discussed from the developing point of view for future *** hope to provide a valuable evaluation on organic electrode materials for AZIBs in our context and give inspiration for the rational design of high-performance AZIBs.

From Static and Dynamic Perspectives:A Survey on Historical Data Benchmarks of control Performance Monitoring

In recent decades, control performance monitoring(CPM) has experienced remarkable progress in research and industrial applications. While CPM research has been investigated using various benchmarks, the historical data benchmark(HIS) has garnered the most attention due to its practicality and effectiveness. However, existing CPM reviews usually focus on the theoretical benchmark, and there is a lack of an in-depth review that thoroughly explores HIS-based methods. In this article, a comprehensive overview of HIS-based CPM is provided. First, we provide a novel static-dynamic perspective on data-level manifestations of control performance underlying typical controller capacities including regulation and servo: static and dynamic properties. The static property portrays time-independent variability in system output, and the dynamic property describes temporal behavior driven by closed-loop feedback. Accordingly,existing HIS-based CPM approaches and their intrinsic motivations are classified and analyzed from these two ***, two mainstream solutions for CPM methods are summarized, including static analysis and dynamic analysis,which match data-driven techniques with actual controlling behavior. Furthermore, this paper also points out various opportunities and challenges faced in CPM for modern industry and provides promising directions in the context of artificial intelligence for inspiring future research.

Trophic transfer of carbon-14 from algae to zebrafish leads to its blending in biomolecules and the dysregulation of metabolism via isotope effect

Carbon-14（C-14） has been a major contributor to the human radioactive exposure dose,as it is released into the environment from the nuclear industry in larger quantities compared to other *** most abundant nuclide enters the biosphere as organically bound C-14（OBC-14）,posing a potential threat to public ***,it remains unknown how this relatively low radiotoxic nuclide induces health risks via chemical effects,such as isotope *** establishing a trophic transfer model involving algae（Scenedesmus obliquus）,daphnia（Daphnia magna） and zebrafish（Danio rerio）,we demonstrate that rapid incorporation and transformation of inorganic C-14 by algae into OB C-14 facilitates the blending of C-14 into the biomolecules of *** find that internalized C-14 is persistently retained in the brain of zebrafish,affecting DNA methylation and causing alterations in *** isotope tracing metabolomics with C-14 exposure further reveals the involvement of C-14 in various critical metabolic pathways,including one-carbon metabolism and nucleotide *** thus characterize the kinetic isotope effects for12C/14C in the key reactions of these metabolic pathways through kinetic experiments and density functional theory computations,showing that the isotopic substitution of carbon in bio chemicals regulates metabolism by disrupting reaction ratios via isotope *** results suggest that inorganic C-14discharged by the nuclear industry can be biotransformed into OBC-14 to impact metabolism via isotope effects,providing new insights into understanding the health risk of C-14,which is traditionally considered as a low radiotoxic nuclide.

Reinforcement learning-based cost-sensitive classifier for imbalanced fault classification

Fault classification plays a crucial role in the industrial process monitoring domain. In the datasets collected from real-life industrial processes, the data distribution is usually imbalanced. The datasets contain a large amount of normal data(majority) and only a small amount of faulty data(minority); this phenomenon is also known as the imbalanced fault classification problem. To solve the imbalanced fault classification problem, a novel reinforcement learning(RL)-based cost-sensitive classifier(RLCC) based on policy gradient is proposed in this paper. In RLCC, a novel cost-sensitive learning strategy based on policy gradient and the actor-critic of RL is developed. The novel cost-sensitive learning strategy can adaptively learn the cost matrix and dynamically yield the sample weights. In addition, RLCC uses a newly designed reward to train the sample weight learner and classifier using an alternating iterative approach. The alternating iterative approach makes RLCC highly flexible and effective in solving the imbalanced fault classification *** effectiveness and practicability of the proposed RLCC method are verified through its application in a real-world dataset and an industrial process benchmark.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS), as a standard communication and navigation device for ships, plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime traffic. The accuracy of the AIS receiver’s signal processing directly affects the bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) of the AIS system, drawing considerable attention to AIS signal reception and processing technologies. Current research on AIS reception signals mainly focuses on custom implementations using hardware platforms like FPGAs;however, the high cost of hardware implementation has become a limiting factor in the development of AIS signal processing technologies. Therefore, this paper designs an AIS reception signal processing system based on GNU Radio, developing demodulation algorithm and NRZI decoding modules, and testing them with typical demodulation algorithms. In the passive detection and positioning technology of UAV based on the principle of time difference of arrival (TDOA), the existing time-difference estimation method which relies on signal cross-correlation puts forward high requirements for waveform correlation of received signals. Noise interference in the received signal will lead to a large error in time delay estimation, which will seriously affect the positioning accuracy. To solve this problem, an improved wavelet threshold estimation method for UAV signal arrival time difference is proposed in this paper. In order to solve the problem of signal correlation and noise in traditional TDOA estimation method, wavelet denoising technology is used to pre-process the received signal and improve the accuracy of TDOA estimation. In addition, a new soft threshold function is introduced, which is improved on the traditional threshold function, reduces the oscillation of the hard threshold function and the constant error of the soft threshold function, while maintaining the local characteristics of the signal. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and measured data. The results show that the improved wavelet threshold denoising method has better denoising performance and significantly improves the stability and accuracy of TDOA estimation. Cogging torque is a unique issue in the servo systems of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a key problem that must be addressed in the design and manufacturing of high-performance permanent magnet motors. Due to their inherent structural characteristics, PMSMs inevitably produce cogging torque, which leads to disturbances and noise, particularly detrimental to motor control systems operating at low speeds. Additionally, the presence of cogging torque affects the positioning accuracy of the rotor at any given moment. This paper presents a high-quality control method for suppressing cogging torque. The proposed cogging torque suppression strategy is studied through simulations and compared with traditional cogging torque suppression strategies. The simulation results indicate that the proposed high-precision positioning servo control method is effective in suppressing cogging torque. Copyright 2025 Global IT Research Institute (GIRI).
