Ambient photolysis frequency of NO2 determined using chemical actinometer and spectroradiometer at an urban site in Beijing

The photolysis frequency of NO2, j（NO2）, is an important analytical parameter in the study of tropospheric chemistry. A chemical actinometer （CA） was built to measure the ambient j（NQ） based on a high precision NOx instrument with 1 min time resolution. Parallel measurements of the ambient j（NO2） by using the CA and a commercial spectroradiometer （SR） were conducted at a typical urban site （Peking University Urban Environmental Monitoring Station） in Beijing. In general, good agreement was achieved between the CA and SR data with a high linear correlation coefficient （R2 = 0.977） and a regression slope of 1.12. The regression offset was negligible compared to the measured signal level. Thej（NO2） data were calculated using the tropospheric ultraviolet visible radiation （TUV） model, which was constrained to observe aerosol optical properties. The calculated j（NO2） was intermediate between the results obtained with CA and SR, demonstrating the consistency of all the parameters observed at this site. The good agreement between the CA and SR data, and the consistency with the TUV model results, demonstrate the good performance of the installed SR instrument. Since a drift of the SR sensitivity is expected by the manufacturer, we propose a regular check of the data acquired via SR against those obtained by CA for long-term delivery of a high quality series ofj（NO2） data. Establishing such a time series will be invaluable for analyzing the long-term atmospheric oxidation capacity trends as well as O3 pollution for urban Beijing.

In order to solve the problem of abandoned wind power in new energy high permeability grid, a large-scale energy storage device optimization configuration algorithm is proposed. At the same time, the energy storage cost, the abandonment cost and the loss of load cost are taken into consideration, and an optimization model is established considering various operational constraints and solved through the mature commercial software CPLEX. Finally, the 750kV system obtained by the actual grid equivalent is taken as an example to obtain an optimal configuration scheme for energy storage in the actual power grid.

This study surveyed occurrences and influencing factors of organophosphorus flame retardants (PFRs) on skin surface. Skin wipe samples from palms, back-of-hands and forearms of 30 adults were collected by using gauze pads soaked in isopropyl alcohol in Beijing, China. Tris(chloropropyl) phosphate isomers (∑TCPP), tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) and triphenyl phosphate (TPHP) were the most abundant compounds with detection frequencies higher than 97%. ∑TCPP showed the highest mean level (4.6μg/m), followed by TPHP (2.4μg/m) and TCEP (1.6μg/m). Levels on palms were slightly higher than on back-of-hands, and both were substantially higher than those on forearms. TCEP and ∑TCPP levels were strong reliable in three repeated measurements from 4 participants over a three month period (intraclass correlation of coefficient of 0.91 and 0.95, respectively), while TPHP levels were not. Washing with soap and water removed a large fraction of PFRs on hands with median reduction of 76, 72 and 67% for TCEP, ∑TCPP and TPHP, respectively. Paired dust samples, table surface wipe and hand wipe samples were collected from 17 offices (13 surface wipes and 22 hand wipes) in Beijing. Hand wipe TCEP, ∑TCPP and TPHP were neither correlated with dust samples nor with table surface wipe samples. Two methods were used for dermal exposure assessments. The estimated lower median total exposure from palms, back-of-hands and forearms by the relative absorption method were 0.6, 1.0, 0.3ng/kg BW-d for TCEP, ∑TCPP and TPHP, respectively. These estimates were in the same range as those via dust ingestion for adults in Beijing, suggesting dermal absorption is likely a significant pathway of human PFR exposure.

Real-time road traffic state prediction based on ARIMA and Kalman filter

The realization of road traffic prediction not only provides real-time and effective information for travelers, but also helps them select the optimal route to reduce travel time. Road traffic prediction offers traffic guidance for travelers and relieves traffic jams. In this paper, a real-time road traffic state prediction based on autoregressive integrated moving average （ARIMA） and the Kalman filter is proposed. First, an ARIMA model of road traffic data in a time series is built on the basis of historical road traffic data. Second, this ARIMA model is combined with the Kalman filter to construct a road traffic state prediction algorithm, which can acquire the state, measurement, and updating equations of the Kalman filter. Third, the optimal parameters of the algorithm are discussed on the basis of historical road traffic data. Finally, four road segments in Beijing are adopted for case studies. Experimental results show that the real-time road traffic state prediction based on ARIMA and the Kalman filter is feasible and can achieve high accuracy.

A New Power Flow Algorithm for Hybrid AC/DC Power Grid

Aiming at the problem of grid power flow calculation with VSC (Voltage Source Converter) unit in the context of the energy internet, this paper presents a new converter equivalent model. This study introduces a novel unified power flow algorithm for hybrid AC/DC power grids. The method simplifies the converter model by means of equivalent substitution and power conversion. The model better inherits the advantages of traditional AC power flow calculation. Finally, a unified iterative method is used to calculate an IEEE-57 node.

Trait-based ecology claims to offer a mechanistic approach for explaining the drivers that structure biological diversity and predicting the responses of species, trophic interactions and ecosystems to environmental change. However, support for this claim is lacking across broad taxonomic groups. A framework for defining ecosystem processes in terms of the functional traits of their constituent taxa across large spatial scales is needed. Here, we provide a comprehensive assessment of the linkages between climate, plant traits and soil microbial traits at many sites spanning a broad latitudinal temperature gradient from tropical to subalpine forests. Our results show that temperature drives coordinated shifts in most plant and soil bacterial traits but these relationships are not observed for most fungal traits. Shifts in plant traits are mechanistically associated with soil bacterial functional traits related to carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycling, indicating that microbial processes are tightly linked to variation in plant traits that influence rates of ecosystem decomposition and nutrient cycling. Our results are consistent with hypotheses that diversity gradients reflect shifts in phenotypic optima signifying local temperature adaptation mediated by soil nutrient availability and metabolism. They underscore the importance of temperature in structuring the functional diversity of plants and soil microbes in forest ecosystems and how this is coupled to biogeochemical processes via functional traits.

The terrain phase elimination is a key step in the Permanent Scatterer Interferometric SAR technique (PSInSAR) for monitoring land deformation. The Shuttle Radar Topography Mission digital elevation model (SRTM DEM) is widely used. In high-rise urban areas, there are main effects that high buildings have on land subsidence where SRTM DEM is applied: after temporal and spatial filtering, a portion of the terrain phase errors propagates in the residual phase, which directly affects the precision of the land subsidence estimation. In this study, we propose a new method to minimize the errors. We have created a digital surface model (DSM) by overlying SRTM DEM with the layer of the building height obtained by SAR tomography. To validate the proposed approach, the land subsidence was calculated using the SRTM DEM and DSM correction methods. Based on the benchmarks used in the comparison, we show that the elevation phase elimination using DSM leads to more precise measurements of land subsidence rates. © 2017 Proceedings - 22nd International Congress on Modelling and simulation, MODSIM 2017. 由于良好的催化活性和稳定性,贵金属催化剂已经被广泛应用于各种异相催化反应中,但是贵金属的稀有性和高成本无法满足未来日益增长的催化需求.2011年,张涛课题组成功地制备了高效、稳定的铂单原子催化剂.高效的单原子催化剂利用单个活性位点作为催化活性中心,可能会成为连接同相催化和异相催化的桥梁.然而从经济适用的长远角度考虑,将非贵金属催化剂缩小到原子尺度是否也会展现出优良的催化活性;是否有潜力替代目前已被广泛应用的贵金属催化剂?虽然现阶段非贵金属催化剂的催化性能仍无法达到贵金属催化剂的标准,但是已有相关研究从理论和实验上报道了非贵金属单原子催化剂及其优异的性能表明了其在未来发展中极其重要,因而,可以预见这两个疑问的答案都是肯定的.单原子概念的出现不仅为提高贵金属的催化性能及成本的降低指明了方向,同时也为制备具有高催化活性、甚至可与贵金属催化剂相媲美的非贵金属催化剂提供了可能性.我们在上述背景下,阐述了对单原子的概念日益加深的机制认知,并从理论和实验上概述了非贵金属单原子催化剂近期的发展情况,指出了目前的在单原子催化剂领域需要解决的一些问题,最后,针对研究现状,我们对未来单原子的发展提出了相应的展望.单原子催化剂具有较高的表面能,因而,如何寻找合适的基体与单原子相互作用,进而,使基体材料像一只手一样稳固地"抓紧"单原子,因而,降低其高表面能则是发挥优良催化性能的基础.强金属–基体相互作用(SMSI)不仅可以将单原子限制在基体表面,亦会影响整个催化过程.目前应用于单原子催化剂的基体种类很多,如金属氧化物、金属以及其他材料,而对SMSI认知则主要分两大类,一类是源自于基体表面的结构缺陷,另一类是源于其电子缺陷.从目前的发展状况来看SMSI机制仍有很多疑惑尚未解决,例如对电子转移影响的认知等.理论研究表明,在某些反应中非贵金属单原子展示出可替代贵金属的催化性质.比如,在一氧化碳优先反应(PROX)中,单原子钴和钛展示出的催化性能可与贵金属相媲美;理论计算同样证明单原子镍在一氧化碳还原中的催化活性比单原子铱优秀,甚至与单原子铂类似.大量的实验进展也报道了非贵金属单原子同样能在其他反应中展现出优异的性能,如氧析出反应(OER)、氢析出反应(HER)和氧还原反应(ORR).对于单原子催化剂,还有很多问题需要我们去解决,例如基体对于催化过程的具体影响、非贵金属的电子结构对于其催化性能的影响,以及单原子在基体上产生相互作用的位点等问题.纵然有许多问题需要更加深入的研究,但是单原子概念的出现,使得非贵金属催化剂材料取代传统贵金属催化剂成为了可能.
