The melting points of ionic liquids(ILs)reported since 2020 were surveyed,collected,and reviewed,which were further combined with the previous data to provide a database with 3129 ILs ranging from 177.15 to 645.9 K in melting *** addition,the factors that affect the melting point of ILs from macro,micro,and thermodynamic perspectives were summarized and *** the development of the quantitative structure-property relationship(QSPR),group contribution method(GCM),and conductor-like screening model for realistic solvents(COSMO-RS)for predicting the melting points of ILs were reviewed and further *** with the evaluation together with the preliminary study conducted in this work,it shows that COSMO-RS is more promising and possible to further improve its performance,and a framework was thus proposed.

The *** oil processing industry generates large amounts of solid wastes,including *** shell(COS)and *** cake(COC).Distinct from generally acknowledged lignocellulosic biomass(corn stover,bamboo,birch,etc.),Camellia wastes contain diverse bioactive substances in addition to the abundant lignocellulosic components,and thus,the bioreﬁnery utilization of *** processing byproducts involves complicated processing *** reviewﬁrst summarizes various technologies for extracting and converting the main components in *** oil processing byproducts into value-added chemicals and biobased materials,as well as their potential ***,ultrasound,and Soxhlet extractions are compared for the extraction of functional bioactive components(tannin,ﬂavonoid,saponin,etc.),while solvothermal conversion and pyrolysis are discussed for the conversion of lignocellulosic components into value-added *** application areas of these chemicals according to their properties are introduced in detail,including utilizing antioxidant and anti-in-ﬂammatory properties of the bioactive substances for the speciﬁc application,as well as drop-in chemicals for the substitution of unrenewable fossil fuel-derived *** addition to chemical production,biochar fabricated from COS and its applications in theﬁelds of adsorption,supercapacitor,soil remediation and wood composites are comprehensively reviewed and ***,based on the compositions and structural characteristics of *** byproducts,the development of full-component valorization strategies and the expansion of the appli-cationﬁelds are proposed.

Oxidation-Reduction Treatment Initiated In Situ Redispersion of the Supported Cu/Al2O3 Catalyst

Achieving a high dispersion of the supported catalyst is crucial for heterogeneous catalysts. However, such a goal is difficult to attain for copper-based catalysts with conventional preparation methods, especially at higher yet industrial-related loadings. In this study, we explore an oxidation-reduction treatment for in situ reconstruction of supported copper catalysts, promoting the redispersion of large Cu nanoparticles. Oxidation of the reduced Cu/Al2O3 catalyst turns large Cu nanoparticles into a hollow structure, which is attributed to the Kirkendall effect. The following reduction step produces reduced Cu nanoparticles with smaller diameters and an increased number of active sites. Such an oxidation-reduction treatment results in a remarkable two-fold increase in the activity of the Cu/Al2O3 catalyst, as compared to the untreated one, toward the methanol steam reforming reaction. Our findings present an innovative approach for the in situ improvement of the catalyst dispersion, holding great promise for heterogeneous catalytic applications. © 2024 The Authors. Modulation of anisotropic photoluminescence and photocurrent in PEA_(2)PbI_(4) single-crystal thin films

The fundamental understanding of exciton physics and the anisotropic behavior of excitons and charge carriers in perovskite materials are pivotal to controlling the orientation of emission dipoles and the polarization of photocurrents to enhance the efficiency of light-emitting diodes(LEDs)and polarization ***,it is not easy to clarify these fundamental physics and optoelectronic properties in traditional inorganic 3D perovskite polycrystalline thin ***,we found three narrow emission peaks with one broad peak from neutral excitons at 78 K in hybrid perovskite PEA_(2)PbI_(4)single *** out-of-plane electric field can induce the dissociation of the excitons with a larger decrease in the emission intensity of the exciton with a higher out-of-plane ***,the photocurrent can be greatly increased up to a maximum of 11 times with the tuning of excitation polarization from 90°to 0°.These results deepen our understanding of the anisotropic exciton and charge carrier physics of perovskite materials to promote the development of highly efficient LEDs and polarization photodetectors.

Thermal cycling on microstructure and mechanical properties of laser powder bed fusion manufactured IN738LC alloy

This study investigated the impact of thermal cycling effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of IN738LC alloy manufactured by laser powder bed fusion,considering different volumetric energy densities(VEDs)and interlayer times(ILTs)as part of the experimental *** results show that low VED and long ILT samples displayed superior quality,with an average grain size of 10.97μm and relatively low strain accumulation *** contrast,samples with high VED and long ILT exhibit increased cracking and porosity,the average grain size is 14.63μm and present higher strain accumulation *** nano-primary MC phase within the alloy transformed into a spherical secondary MC phase inside the grain and a polygonal secondary MC phase on the grain *** the low VED and long ILT,the mean equivalent diameter(MED)of MC carbide within the grain and on the grain boundary was 63 and 140 nm,respectively,the tensile strength was 1072±21 *** contrast,for the high VED and long ILT,the MED of MC carbide in the grain and on the grain boundary were 47 and105 nm,respectively,and the tensile strength was794±31 *** tensile strength of high VED and long ILT decreased by 26%compared with low VED and long ILT.

Heat-resistant PMIA separator with highly interconnected pore structure for thermally stable and high energy lithium-ion batteries

The safety and performance of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)largely depend on the structural design and performance characteristics of the *** polyolefin separators suffer from problems such as poor thermal stability,insufficient porosity,and inferior electrolyte wettability,which not only easily lead to battery safety issues but also significantly affect the ionic conductivity and energy density of the ***,we have designed a facile,efficient and controllable methodology to develop a high-porosity poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide)(PMIA)separator with both excellent wettability and superior thermal resistance by a vapor-induced phase separation ***,the PMIA separator undergoes a thermal shrinkage of less than 1%even after being treated at 200℃ for one hour,which greatly enhances the thermal safety of the *** addition,a continuous and interconnected high-porosity structure(porosity of 69%)is formed by utilizing a stable and controllable solvent exchange rate,thereby constructing abundant channels for the transportation of ions within the ***,the amide groups in the PMIA molecular structure further confer the separator with excellent wettability,enabling it to possess outstanding electrolyte absorption capacity(electrolyte absorption rate of 270%).As a result,the Li||LFP full cell with PMIA separator exhibits excellent capacity and cycling stability,maintaining a reversible specific capacity of 105.6 mAh g^(-1)after 600 cycles at 5 *** Li||NCM811 full cell with PMIA separator show no significant degradation(168.1 mAh g^(-1)at 0.5 C)after long-cycle at high *** results indicate the potential of the PMIA separator for high thermal stability and high energy battery,and the scalability of this technology also provides new ideas and directions for the preparation of separators with superior comprehensive performance.

3D robust anisotropic diffusion filtering algorithm for sparse view neutron computed tomography 3D image reconstruction

The most critical part of a neutron computed tomography(NCT) system is the image processing algorithm,which directly affects the quality and speed of the reconstructed *** types of noise in the system can degrade the quality of the reconstructed ***,to improve the quality of the reconstructed images of NCT systems,efficient image processing algorithms must be *** anisotropic diffusion filtering(ADF) algorithm can not only effectively suppress the noise in the projection data,but also preserve the image edge structure information by reducing the diffusion at the image ***,we propose the application of the ADF algorithm for NCT image *** compare the performance of different algorithms in NCT systems,we reconstructed images using the ordered subset simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique(OS-SART) algorithm with different regular terms as image processing *** the iterative reconstruction,we selected two image processing algorithms,the Total Variation and split Bregman solved total variation algorithms,for comparison with the performance of the ADF ***,the filtered back-projection algorithm was used for comparison with an iterative *** reconstructing the projection data of the numerical and clock models,we compared and analyzed the effects of each algorithm applied in the NCT *** on the reconstruction results,OS-SART-ADF outperformed the other algorithms in terms of denoising,preserving the edge structure,and suppressing *** example,when the 3D Shepp–Logan was reconstructed at 25 views,the root mean square error of OS-SART-ADF was the smallest among the four iterative algorithms,at only *** universal quality index,mean structural similarity,and correlation coefficient of the reconstructed image were the largest among all algorithms,with values of 0.9877,0.9878,and 0.9887,respectively.

The long-standing challenge in designing far-infrared transparent conductors(FIRTC)is the combination of high plasma absorption edge(λ_(p))and high conductivity(σ).These competing requirements are commonly met by tuning carrier concentration or/and effective carrier mass in a metal oxide/oxonate with low optical dielectric constant(ε_(opt)=2-7).However,despite the highσ,the transparent band is limited to mid-infrared(λ_(p)<5μm).In this paper,we break the trade-off between highσandλ_(p)by increasing the“so-called constant”ε_(opt)that has been neglected,and successfully develop the material family of FIRTC withε_(opt)>15 andλ_(p)>15μ*** FIRTC crystals are mainly octahedrally-coordinated heavy-metal chalcogenides and their solid solutions with shallow-level *** highε_(opt)relies on the formation of electron-deficiency multicenter bonds resulting in the great electron-polarization *** new FIRTC enables us to develop the first“continuous film”type far-infrared electromagnetic shielder that is unattainable using traditional ***,this study may inaugurate a new era in far-infrared optoelectronics.

Experimental and numerical simulation of the attenuation effect of blast shock waves in tunnels at different altitudes

Traffic engineering such as tunnels in various altitudinal gradient zone are at risk of accidental explosion,which can damage personnel and *** prediction of the distribution pattern of explosive loads and shock wave propagation process in semi-enclosed structures at various altitude environment is key research focus in the fields of explosion shock and fluid *** effect of altitude on the propagation of shock waves in tunnels was investigated by conducting explosion test and numerical *** on the experimental and numerical simulation results,a prediction model for the attenuation of the peak overpressure of tunnel shock waves at different altitudes was *** results showed that the peak overpressure decreased at the same measurement points in the tunnel entrance under the high altitude *** contrast,an increase in altitude accelerated the propagation speed of the shock wave in the *** average error between the peak shock wave overpressure obtained using the overpressure prediction formula and the measured test data was less than15%,the average error between the propagation velocity of shock waves predicted values and the test data is less than 10%.The method can effectively predict the overpressure attenuation of blast wave in tunnel at various altitudes.
