We obtain some criteria on the global exponential stability in mean square for the impulsive stochastic delayed systems. We propose a system that can record driving events and detect unsafe driving behaviors. Three sensors, an engine control unit (ECU) reader, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a camera are used, in which they represent the car, the passenger, and the driverpsilas perspective. Our system combines data from these three sensors with a fuzzy inference system to identify an event of hazardous driving. The output of the system is the driving risk level ranging from 1 to 3, where 1 is the safest. The output of the system was verified by comparison with a questionnaire from three passengers in a test run experiment.

Large test data volume and high test power are two of the major concerns for the industry when testing large integrated circuits. With given test cubes in scan-based testing, the ldquodonpsilat-carerdquo bits can be exploited for test data compression and/or test power reduction. Prior work either targets only one of these two issues or considers to reduce test data volume and scan shift power together. In this paper, we propose a novel capture power-aware test compression scheme that is able to keep scan capture power under a safe limit with little loss in test compression ratio. Experimental results on benchmark circuits demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed approach.

Using induced L 2 -norm minimization, a robust controller was developed for insulin delivery in Type I diabetic patients. The high-complexity nonlinear diabetic patient Sorensen-model [1] was considered. LPV (Linear Parameter Varying) methodology was used to develop open loop model and robust controller. Considering the normoglycemic set point (81.1 mg/dL), a polytopic set was created over the physiologic boundaries of the glucose-insulin interaction of the Sorensen-model. In this way, LPV model formalism was defined. The robust control was developed considering input and output multiplicative uncertainties with other weighting functions.

We have addressed the improvement of production efficiency and the review of business process for an automotive parts supplier, and the goal of this study is the development of production management software. This paper describes the business result analysis in printing process and a formulation of the tacit procedure by observing worker's empirical rule to develop the knowledge-based scheduling software. The whole of business processes are clarified by our previous researches, and the scheduling problem of printing process has been mainly discussed. Previously the printing process has been improved only by theoretical aspect, however it cannot flexibly respond to the change of production conditions such as the dispersion of order, the interrupt of urgent task, and the inventory quantity of parts in spite of the actual field can handle these. Therefore this paper regards that the technical know-how of tacit knowledge in the actual printing field is absolutely necessary factor in response to the change of production conditions, and a formulation designed to the minimization of setup operation are expressed.

This paper presents a new method to solve unit commitment problem with operating constraints using a hybrid ant system/priority list method (HASP). The proposed methodology employs ant system in cooperating with the priority list method to find unit commitment solution as means of mutually combining the advantages of them in that a flexibility of the priority list method is reinforced, while AS algorithm can gain the benefit of using bias information for improving its performance during search process. The simulation results show that the proposed HASP is capable of obtaining satisfactory solution within reasonable computational time.

This paper presents dynamic behaviors of autonomous solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) with AC bus control. Both voltage and frequency control are utilized to achieve load-sharing of the studied SOFC feeding isolated loads. A DC-to-DC converter is connected to the output terminals of the studied SOFC for stabilizing output voltage and current fluctuations under different loading conditions. The PWM inverter connected to the output terminals of the DC-to-DC converter is operated under voltage-controlled mode to regulate the voltage profile across the connected loads. It can be concluded from the simulation results that the proposed voltage and frequency droop controllers of the PWM inverter may operate satisfactory under stand-alone mode.

This paper is dealing with redundant optoelectronic data transmission with special respect to laser channels. The concept of the generalized erasure channel (GEC) is used to determine the probability of undetected error for some binary symmetric and non-symmetric channels protected by appropriate codes. In detail, communication via different binary symmetric channels (BSCs), generalized erasure channels and symmetrized binary non symmetric channels (BNSCs) is investigated. Simple upper bounds are given, relating the new formulas to that one of the BSC Finally the results in connection with an inequality for proper codes are applied to multi wavelength optical transmission through channels generated by semiconductor lasers.

In this paper, the feasibility of using active noise control inside personal computers is demonstrated by applying an adaptive filter to Hewlett-Packard's Blackbird 002 Gaming PC. Conditions relating the control signals and the sound heard by an external listener are presented as a means of evaluating the hardware design before applying the adaptive filter. A multichannel stochastic adaptive filter is derived by vectorizing the equations and applying gradient descent and Newton's method. For implementation purposes, data-based approximations to the gradient and hessian are provided. It is shown that a 6dB reduction in sound pressure level is obtainable by adding reference microphones, error microphones, a speaker, and some acoustical foam into the system even though the length of the noise cancelation system is small, approx. 6”, compared to the fundamental wavelength of the noise, approx 23”.

The robust stability and stabilization, and H-infinity control problems for discrete-time Markovian jump singular systems with parameter uncertainties are discussed. Based on the restricted system equivalent (r.s.e.) transformation and by introducing new state vectors, the singular system is transformed into a discrete-time Markovian jump standard linear system, and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions for the discrete-time Markovian jump singular systems to be regular, causal, stochastically stable, and stochastically stable with 7- disturbance attenuation are obtained, respectively. With these conditions, the robust state feedback stochastic stabilization problem and H-infinity control problem are solved, and the LMI conditions are obtained. A numerical example illustrates the effectiveness of the method given in the oaoer.
