The usage of machine learning and deep learning algorithms have necessitated Artificial Intelligence'. AI is aimed at automating things by limiting human interference. It is widely used in IT, healthcare, finance, and agriculture. It is achieved through several deep learning algorithms that reflect the human brain's intelligence. These AI algorithms can be manipulated according to changing needs and improved efficiency. This paper tries to utilize the developments made in AI technology to classify the images and recognize the objects present in them. One widely used AI algorithm is CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks). The CNN is a deep learning-based algorithm that consists of various layers that extract and filters the parameters present in the images. Some additional layers of ResNet50 and the CNN algorithm are used to extract the parameters to improve image recognition accuracy. The image dataset taken for training and testing the proposed model is imageNet. The images are initially processed before sending them to the proposed model. The proposed model is trained, validated, and tested through the images obtained after the initial processing. The same process is repeated several times until getting the maximum accuracy. The accuracy of the proposed model in terms of image recognition is recorded. The obtained results are compared with other image classification algorithms like VGG16 and VGG19. It is concluded that the proposed model outperforms other traditional methods in terms of accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Load Forecast (LF) is an important task in the planning, control and application of public power systems. Accurate Short Term Load Forecast (STLF) is the premise of safe and economical operation of a power system. In the research of short-term power load forecasting, machine learning and deep learning are the most popular methods at present, but there still exists a problem that the single and simple structure of power load forecasting model leads to low accuracy of load forecasting. In order to improve the accuracy of STLF, a Gated Cycle Unit (GRU)-Transformer combined neural network model is proposed. Transformer encoder structure is used as feature extractor to mine the complex mapping relationships between the input features and load. The advantage of self-attention mechanism is used to solve the problem of information loss of long sequences in short-term power load forecasting. At the same time, the multivariate time series model of GRU is used for model training. The experimental results on the power load data set of a certain region in southwest China and Panama City show that the proposed combined model prediction method has higher accuracy than those proposed in other literatures, which further proves its feasibility and superiority. © 2024, University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical engineering and Computing. Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.

The facial recognition attendance system represents a modern approach to attendance tracking, designed to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security in various organizational settings. Advanced biometric technologies are leveraged to capture and encode facial features, creating unique digital identifiers for each individual. The methodology employs cutting-edge facial recognition algorithms powered by convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with a 99.5% recognition accuracy rate. These algorithms extract and encode facial vectors with sub-millisecond latency, which are then compared in real-time against a secure, encrypted database of preregistered individuals. Upon a successful match, the system automatically records the attendance, ensuring an accurate and efficient process. With an intuitive web interface built on ReactJS and a backend supported by *** and MongoDB, the system provides seamless access to attendance records and administrative functionalities. The entire attendance recording process is optimized for speed, typically completing within two seconds per individual. Additionally, advanced anti-spoofing measures and integration support with existing HR management systems redefine traditional attendance management practices with a scalable, robust, and secure solution. The security of the wireless sensor network-Internet of Things(WSN-IoT)network is more challenging due to its randomness and self-organized *** detection is one of the key methodologies utilized to ensure the security of the *** intrusion detection mechanisms have issues such as higher misclassification rates,increased model complexity,insignificant feature extraction,increased training time,increased run time complexity,computation overhead,failure to identify new attacks,increased energy consumption,and a variety of other factors that limit the performance of the intrusion system *** this research a security framework for WSN-IoT,through a deep learning technique is introduced using Modified Fuzzy-Adaptive DenseNet(MF_AdaDenseNet)and is benchmarked with datasets like NSL-KDD,UNSWNB15,CIDDS-001,Edge IIoT,Bot *** this,the optimal feature selection using Capturing Dingo Optimization(CDO)is devised to acquire relevant features by removing redundant *** proposed MF_AdaDenseNet intrusion detection model offers significant benefits by utilizing optimal feature selection with the CDO *** results in enhanced Detection Capacity with minimal computation complexity,as well as a reduction in False Alarm Rate(FAR)due to the consideration of classification error in the fitness *** a result,the combined CDO-based feature selection and MF_AdaDenseNet intrusion detection mechanism outperform other state-of-the-art techniques,achieving maximal Detection Capacity,precision,recall,and F-Measure of 99.46%,99.54%,99.91%,and 99.68%,respectively,along with minimal FAR and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)of 0.9%and 0.11.

Automated reading of license plate and its detection is a crucial component of the competent transportation system. Toll payment and parking management e-payment systems may benefit from this software’s features. License plate detection and identification algorithms abound, and each has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. computer vision has advanced rapidly in terms of new breakthroughs and techniques thanks to the emergence and proliferation of deep learning principles across several branches of AI. The practice of automating the monitoring process in traffic management, parking management, and police surveillance has become much more effective thanks to the development of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR). Even though license plate recognition (LPR) is a technology that is extensively utilized and has been developed, there is still a significant amount of work to be done before it can achieve its full potential. In the last several years, there have been substantial advancements in both the scientific community’s methodology and its level of efficiency. In this era of deep learning, there have been numerous developments and techniques established for LPR, and the purpose of this research is to review and examine those developments and approaches. In light of this, the authors of this study suggest a four-stage technique to automated license plate detection and identification (ALPDR), which includes, image pre-processing, license plate extraction, character segmentation, and character recognition. And the first three phases are known as "extraction," "preprocessing," and "segmentation," and each of these processes has been shown to benefit from its own unique technique. 14-Bit SAR ADC with on-Chip Digital Bubble Sorting Calibration Technology

This article designs a 14-bit successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter（SAR ADC）.A novel digital bubble sorting calibration method is proposed and applied to eliminate the effect of capacitor mismatch on the linearity of the SAR ADC. To reduce the number of capacitors, a hybrid architecture of a high 8-bit binary-weighted capacitor array and a low 6-bit resistor array is adopted by the digital-to-analog（DAC）. The common-mode voltage VCM-based switching scheme is chosen to reduce the switching energy and area of the DAC. The time-domain comparator is employed to obtain lower power consumption. Sampling is performed through a gate voltage bootstrapped switch to reduce the nonlinear errors introduced when sampling the input signal. Moreover, the SAR logic and the whole calibration is totally implemented on-chip through digital integrated circuit（IC） tools such as design compiler, IC compiler, etc. Finally, a prototype is designed and implemented using 0.18 μm bipolar-complementary metal oxide semiconductor（CMOS）-double-diffused MOS 1.8 V CMOS technology. The measurement results show that the SAR ADC with on-chip bubble sorting calibration method achieves the signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio of 69.75 dB and the spurious-free dynamic range of 83.77 dB.

Crop weed separation through image-level segmentation: an ensemble of modified U-Net and encoder–decoder

Crop weed segmentation is one of the most challenging tasks in the field of computer vision. This is because, unlike other object detection or segmentation tasks, crop and weed are similar in terms of spectral features, shape, dimensions, etc. For precision agriculture to flourish in terms of smart spraying of crops, efficient systems to distinguish between crop and weed are the need of the hour, which if precise, will take a huge step toward solving the issue of food scarcity. To tackle this issue, we propose new ensemble architecture of two models—a U-Net with a modified backbone and an encoder–decoder. These networks learn to distinguish between soil and crop and soil and weed, respectively, whose ensemble gives state-of-the-art results on pixel-wise annotations of combined crop and weed images. Moreover, it also learns that the model captures un-annotated features since each component of the architecture learnt either crop or weed features to high precision. Finally, the proposed architecture is compared with the U-Net and SegNet, which are popular segmentation networks, and consistently achieved better results. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.
